Year Purchased: 2003
We moved to South Texas after about 3 decades on the East Coast. Pat, (retired researcher/professor who worked at Gallaudet University) is a native Texan; Ron (environmental consultant) loves the beauty of the natural environment here on the coast. We live in this house much of the year so it has the feeling of a "home" and not a place that is constantly on the rental market.
Why the Owner Chose Rockport
Birding, boating, and Texas is home....Rockport has a "blue wave" beach, emerging artist colony, many shops and museums, access to nearby national refuge and parks. 40 minutes from Corpus Christi airport...But Rockport is a quiet place with "small town" atmosphere.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Picnicking, fishing, "taking the sun" on back decks....(upper deck is roofed to provide shade all day)...immediate access to the water..rocking chairs on front deck...plants....really pleasant house, nicely but comfortably decorated. You can really relax here.

Wonderful location, great for relaxing. Watch yahts pass from marina while enjoying coffee on quite canal. Three choices of decks to enjoy. Downstairs deck great for cooking seafood and shrimp boil dinners. Living area can accominadate several activities at same time. Wonderful indoor stairs are life saver on hot days. Comfortable bedrooms with Queen beds. Quite street for walking and pool one street over. Back deck/dock faces east for shady evening. Best of all, wonderful owners are very accominadating and great new friends.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

My family and I have stayed at this location on several occasions, and hope to be able to return soon. Along with offering a great view of Little Bay, the home is comfortable and welcoming. It is so relaxing to just sit on the front or back porches to watch and listen to the variety of birds flying by or watching the ducks play in the canal. The house is well maintained, beautifully decorated, and stocked with linens and kitchen essentials. Rockport beach, marina, restaurants and shopping are all within a short drive making this area a great place to get away from it all. I highly recommend this home.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, sightseeing.
