A great little place with great people and lovely pool. We loved walking through the historic neighborhood and eating at the delicious Mexican restaurant. Our hosts could not have been more accommodating.

Happy travelers highly recommend this apartment

What a delightful home away from home! The apartment was ideal for a couple but had enough room for three family members to visit for the afternoon. Lovely artwork grace the walls and lots of extras such as cold beverages, maps and brochures about the area, a bathroom night light, soaps, shampoo, laundry detergent and dryer sheets. The gazebo beside the pool was a great place to relax and visit with family members. The owners were friendly and helpful. Beautiful rose bushes adorn the pool area and driveway. We enjoyed breakfast at Monument Cafe downtown(both the food and the atmosphere) and their fresh food market behind the cafe. Tony and Luigi's was just a few blocks away with good Italian food and other choices for people who don't want Italian food. This apartment is only blocks from the city square, Georgetown University and close to both I-35 and Toll Road 130 to take to the Austin airport. If we return to this area we would happily stay here again.

Owner response:Thank you so much for the wonderful review! Yes, we have lots of restaurant choices within a ten-block radius of the apartment. Off the top of my head, I can think of: Italian, as you mentioned, Mexican, Thai, French, American comfort food, Subway, and a couple other fast food places. And of course, there's a delightful winery on the Georgetown Square, and another winery in the works, scheduled to open in 2012. We're delighted you enjoyed your stay. We love when guests take advantage of the private, poolside gazebo. One quick correction: our vacation rental guest apartment is about a mile from Georgetown's Southwestern University. (Not Georgetown University in the DC area.)

This vacation rental is perfect!

Guest: Allyson J.
Date of Stay: 08/07/11 Review Submitted: 11/13/11

I stayed at the Looney's vacation apartment for 2 months, and it couldn't have been a better experience. The location is excellent, the property is lovely, and the owners are delightful. The saltwater pool is restorative, and the landscaping is peaceful. Each night I would return to the apartment, and feel happy and relaxed to be there. There are lots of fun things to do nearby the apartment, and Jenel has created an excellent little guide to the area, and to the particulars of the apartment. She and Larry have thought of every detail related to a good stay, and take good care of their tenants, including keeping a fridge stocked with a range of beverages for your continual use. They give you lots of privacy and leave you to yourself, but I also found that they are happy to chat; they are pleasant conversationalists with an interesting life together. The apartment has absolutely everything you need for cooking and laundry, which made it great for a long stay. But friends who visited me there said they'd like to plan a quick weekend getaway there. It feels exactly like a vacation should.

Owner response:Thank you for the kind words, Allyson! We enjoyed having you here. We tried to set up the apartment to work great as both a self-catered vacation rental apartment and as a longer term corporate housing rental in Georgetown, Texas. To that end, we tried to provide a few small kitchen appliances that we thought a home cook might want for longer stays. But if you don't want to cook, you'll find lots of great restaurant choices nearby. In fact, one of our requirements when shopping for a lot in Georgetown was that it be within walking distance to Dos Salsas Mexican Restaurant!

Lovely People, Lovely Home

Guest: Gwen (LA, CA)
Date of Stay: 06/17/11 Review Submitted: 06/21/11

Jenel and Larry are wonderful hosts and their apartment is perfect for either business or a personal respite. The apartment is stocked with every amenity you might want, including front-loading washer and dryer! With a stock of DVDs, a flat-screen TV and lovely wingback chairs, you can snuggle in and have a night of entertainment. Or you can check out the wonderful restaurant offerings in Georgetown. My favorite "amenities" were the luxurious bed sheets and the opportunity to meet the Looney's Goldendoodle, Siddiqi. The nightly price is more than fair. You won't be disappointed in this little gem of an apartment!

Owner response:With the Georgetown Square just 7 blocks away, there are at least 10 restaurants within easy walking distance for people who like to walk. At least a few of the restaurants have dog-friendly outdoor seating, which Sidiqi loves. (In the cooler months, that is.) So glad you enjoyed your visit, Gwen! We were jealous of you, going to one of the nearby spas for a massage.

My husband and I just spent 2 nights in this cozy one bedroom apartment which offers everything that is listed and extremely helpful hosts too. Seems like a jokester was playing games with our 'senior' minds and our electronic knowledge, yet, Janel and Larry came to our rescue and made sure we were able to stay 'connected'. The pool was so inviting and the grounds are gorgeous. The bed is like sleeping on a cloud. We highly recommend this garage apartment for visitors to Georgetown.

Perfect Hideaway

Guest: Lee and Jan (England, UK)
Date of Stay: 04/16/11 Review Submitted: 05/18/11

We recently spent two weeks in this wonderful apartment while visiting our daughter at Southwestern University, only a few blocks away. Jenel and Larry (and of course Sidiqi) were the perfect hosts, very friendly and helpful but always respectful of our privacy. The apartment was immaculately clean and comfortable and had everything we could possibly want and more! The location was excellent- quiet neighbourhood with plenty of good restaurants and shopping close by. We loved relaxing in and around the pool and the garden with its beautiful roses and comfortable furniture was a peaceful haven. The pictures and description of this place do not do it justice and we cannot recommend it highly enough, it made our visit absolutely perfect!

Owner response:We're delighted to have guests from overseas stay in our self-catered holiday rental apartment. If you want to see authentic Texas life, our guest apartment is a great place to stay in the Austin area. So glad you enjoyed your visit, Lee and Jan! Come back any time.

The apartment was everything that Jenel said it would be. It may be small but very comfortable for two people and has everything that a person would use while on vacation in Georgetown for a few weeks. Many lovely restaurants within walking distance, and great shopping too! And the pool is just another added bonus.travers

My husband and I have family in Georgetown and this beautiful apt. and setting were just perfect for our needs. We were lucky in that our family was only 5 blocks away and we walked back and forth and had our little grandson come visit us too and watch some dvds. Owners made everything so easy for us and were there to welcome us. Pricing so reasonable and really had our own little apt. Clean, well-maintained, stocked with everything you might want, pretty decor, beautiful grounds, quiet surroundings. They have a lovely pool and backyard altho not the time of year for us to take advantage of that. Would absolutely recommend this property for a lovely stay for two people. 100% better than staying at a motel.

Owner response:So glad you enjoyed your stay, and we hope we'll see you again soon!

Jo Anne and Larry Baden Ontario Canada No surprises, apartment just as described. Cozy and delightful, perfect location for exploring historic Georgetown. Janel and Larry were very helpful but respectful of our privacy. Janel's favorite restaurants are now ours. Don't hesitate to book.

Owner response:Glad you enjoyed the restaurants we recommended! We have a little welcome booklet in the apartment that gives directions to the grocery store, some information about local parks, and includes a list of restaurants we enjoy... even a few that deliver, though I don't think any guests have taken advantage of delivery yet.

The description of this place doesn't do it justice. We just spent a wonderful weekend at the most comfortable, immaculate, peaceful place in Texas. The place is stocked with everything you could possibly need. Including the most comfortable bed with soft sheets. Larry and Janel have gone above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and wonderful. Within walking distance to the downtown square, restaurants, and market. But most important the welcoming commitee, Jenel, Larry and Sidiqi. What a treat! We highly recommend this place.... to all. You'll be just as impressed. We'll definitly return!

Owner response:Thank you, Eddie and Alicia! Our goal is always to be welcoming but not intrusive. We look forward to seeing you again!

Guest: Bill & Carolyn (Walla Walla, WA)
Date of Stay: 07/02/10 Review Submitted: 08/02/10

The description of the apartment was very accurate; it was immaculate and extremely comfortable. Larry and Jenel had obviously tried to think of every comfort their visitors might need. Here again, they were extremely successful as evidenced by the small details we continued to come across during our stay, such things as the large bottle of mouthwash on the upper bathroom shelf for the guests' use and the large variety of spices and condiments in the kitchen. Jenel and Larry were the consummate hosts, being helpful without being intrusive. We cannot recommend the two of them and their wonderful apartment highly enough. P.S. The TV in the picture has been replaced with a 42 inch Samsung HD LCD - what a treat!

Owner response:Yes, the TV in the listing has been replaced with a wall-hung TV with an excellent picture. The apartment has DirecTV satellite with lots of channels. We also have a DVD player up there with an extensive video library so you can watch a movie if you're in the mood.

Home Away From Home

Guest: Beth (Georgetown TX)
Date of Stay: 06/30/10 Review Submitted: 08/08/11

The listing, photos and conversations with the owner perfectly described this "Home Away from Home".It was the perfect solution for a couple needing housing while waiting for a new home to be completed. The immaculate and completely furnished apt. had everything we needed...and more! The owners were helpful, friendly and sensitive to all our needs. This Unique Interim Housing, complete with pool and pleasant walks to nearby Historic Downtown Georgetown, made our Move more like a Vacation than a Chore!

Owner response:Thank you, Beth! What Beth and Bob needed was flexibility in a long-term furnished apartment, a place where they could live while their home was under construction in Georgetown, Texas. We were happy to provide them with that flexibility. They didn't know exactly when their home would be complete, so we worked with them to find a solution. They booked the furnished apartment for one month and then on a weekly basis thereafter.

We have made two visits to this property and have found it a wonderful place to stay while visiting the area. The property is well decorated and very clean. The owners will assist in any way needed, but are not intrusive. The apartment is quiet and the beds are comfortable. The description and photos of the property were accurate, but the small things (nice coffee maker, large shower, and small decorative details) are apparent only upon visiting the place. We've been twice, and plan to visit again. A great place at a good price.

We took a different approach to finding a place to attend our daughter's graduation from Southwestern University and found this wonderful location just a few blocks from downtown and the university. Immediately walking from vehicle to entry, we view a fantastic pool. Walking up the stairs to our flat we see a perfect setting. All the amenities you would need, including washer/dryer. Very reasonable, within a short distance to grocery store, eateries, etc. A quiet neighborhood; we enjoyed it very much.

Owner response:Glad you enjoyed your stay! Our house is just 1.2 miles from Southwestern University, and we're happy to welcome Southwestern parents and alumni.

I kinda hate to review this property...I'd like to keep it all to myself! We were there for a wonderful weekend. Everything we could possibly use was available and the apartment wasvery attractive. The owners had just the right balance of availability and respect of privacy. After a day of hiking, the evening by the pool with the fountains was lovely and relaxing. I will definately go back the first chance I get.

Owner response:Thank you for the lovely review! We love when guests take advantage of the private swimming pool in our back yard! We also welcome guests to use the barbecue grill and to eat in the screened gazebo.

What an absolutely delightful one bedroom, close to historic downtown Georgetown. The property is immaculate, well appointed, and very comfortable. Perfect for two, and we set up an air mattress in the living space without problem. Hosts very accommodating, friendly and unobtrusive. Neighborhood is nice, park across the street, and the beautiful swimming pool with comfortable furniture is a delightful plus. Recommend without reservation! We're ready for a return trip!!

The bed is very comfortable. Walking distance to Old Town Georgetown and restaurants. Having transportation is strongly suggested for shopping or sightseeing.

My tween son and I stayed here before school started, and it was perfect for us - clean, safe, comfortable and well-equipped. We navigated our way through the town easily, and enjoyed the skate park, splash pool, playscape, downtown shops and took in a play. There's plenty of kid-friendly places to eat too. My son loved swimming in the pool each night!

We stayed here for our 3 year anniversary. My husband was out of work and we were looking for something close to home that would be affordable and relaxing - it was just that. We had a fabulous time. It was so cute and cozy, close to downtown Georgetown and all the fun restaurants and shops they have to offer. Their pool is beautiful and we enjoyed floating around one afternoon. They even had fresh flowers and a bottle of champagne in our room for our anniversary! It was great - we definitely want to come back again!

Owner response:So glad you enjoyed your stay, Jeremy and Ellie! When you told us you were coming for your anniversary, we wanted to do a little something extra to help you celebrate. We look forward to seeing you again!

When looking for a place to relax during our five-week stay in Georgetown TX, we wanted an affordable, yet comfortable, alternative to a hotel. We found it with Larry and Jenel's accommodations. Although overseas, Larry and Jenel were very responsive to our initial questions and the reservations and payment processes were hassle-free. The apartment completely addressed all our needs. We had ready access to the outdoor grill, backyard retreat, the gardens, and the pool. If you enjoy morning walks like I do, all you have to do is step out your door to enjoy historic homes, the University, and the Town Square. Part of our visit was to evaluate Georgetown as a future home for us. Larry and Jenel's hospitality provided the extra assurance for us to say we now call Georgetown our stateside home.

Owner response:Thanks for your kind words! We were so happy to host you in the apartment for five weeks, and we're delighted that you're moving to Georgetown!

It was awesome having a private retreat to stay in and not have to deal with noise from other people in the room next door like we would have in traditional hotels. I have stayed here a couple of times when visiting friends in the area. I found the apartment to be very comfortable, clean, and relaxing. Everything is new in the apartment and tastefully decorated which I appreciated. My favorite feature of the apartment is the modern bathroom that has a large spa-like shower with a bench. I also found the bed to be quite comfortable and I had no trouble sleeping there because of the quiet, quaint neighborhood. I will stay there again if I get a chance.

When my home in Round Rock sold in 2 days, I was left to wonder what I would do for a short term stay until my new home was ready for move in. After finding this guest apartment, I was so pleased to know that there was something out there for a young professional to be able to work and live in while in transit. I own and operate a design company so my schedule can be very hectic. The owners worked with me and made sure I had everything I needed to perform my home office duties along with being able to get in and out in my off schedule. I truly felt as though I was living in a beautiful condo for the couple of months that I lived there. My work never suffered and most importantly I have close friends through the owners who I got to know so well in the times that I could visit with them. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing place to live for a short or extended stay, this guest apartment is perfect. The location is very convenient to the HEB within miles, the shopping and restraunts all within walking distance. Each time I need to come back to Round Rock and Georgetown, this will be my home away from home.
