Home away from home

Provence will forever be in my heart! This summer was the second visit to the area as well as the house which has become as familiar to us as our own home, so truly a home away from home....and what a home it is! We love what the owners have done to the place, 2 new bathrooms since we were there last (summer of 2009) and as comfortable and plenty of amenities as we remember the first time plus more. The property itself and outside near the pool area is always enjoyable and relaxing on days we didn't feel like driving around sightseeing. We did more exploring this time around and still found that the house is located in the most convenient area , close enough to some of the lovely little towns along Cote d'Azur as well as vineyards and medieval cities that we discovered along the way. We love going into Aix (which is a 5 minute drive from the house) and visiting the different markets they have very often during the week. Under the platanes it's even more enjoyable on a hot summer day. The owners have plenty of guides and pamphlets to help you discover and explore if you wish and we enjoyed meeting the housekeeper Julia and her family as well as Philippe the gardener , who all had lots of great advice and places they suggested to visit. Thank you once again to everyone for making our stay even more pleasurable.

The most welcoming and tasteful home

My family and I were lucky enough to have chosen this property for our vacation. I cannot say enough about how delighted we were to find it to be luxurious yet practical, user-friendly as well as comfortable and most thoughtfully appointed. Every detail, from kitchen equipment to bathroom amenities to reading materials for adults and children has clearly been thought out for the comfort of the guests. The decoration style is tasteful, artistic and eclectic, while losing nothing of its homeliness and comfort. The bathrooms, in addition to being beautiful, are appointed with the most state-of-the-art shower and tub I have ever been privileged to use. After taking day trips to the many marvelous Provencal landmarks surrounding "our" home, we delighted in sitting at pool side with a cold beverage, enjoying the garden and landscape in complete privacy. The young lady taking care of the property was most helpful with our inquiries regarding nearby food shopping and road accesses. Not only do we recommend this property most highly, we have already reserved it for next year!

This is a lovely property. On a quiet little road in the country with a view of Mt Sainte Victoire and the countryside as you enter the gates of the property. The house and grounds are very charming, meticulous, well-equipped, well-maintained and the house overall is very comfortable including large, comfortable beds, brand new bathrooms, plenty of space, well-equipped kitchen, indoor porch, and a large terrace with swimming pool. My parents - who are in their mid-sixties - were very comfortable and pleased in their brief home away from home. The house is perfect to spend days relaxing and enjoying the quiet countryside and nice weather. There is a nice upstairs office with wireless internet should someone need to do some work (hopefully not). Pont de l'arc closeby has an excellent butcher, fruit & vegetable market, small grocery store, boulangerie for fresh, warm baguettes - we prepared several dinners at home on the days we stayed at the house and relaxed and were happy to have fresh, local ingredients close by. Every other day we took a day trip so the house's proximity to Aix and some of Provence's most beautiful towns (Avignon, Roussillon, Sanary, Cassis, St Cyr, Bandol, Marseille) was key.....Caretaker Julia is always available and very accommodating. We are a family who is very discerning about our accommodations and we were extremely pleased with everything. We had a wonderful stay here and would definitely return!

We just returned home from 2 weeks in France. Six of our days were spent in this home. Our plans were to use Aix as a central location to take day trips to Marseilles, Bandol, Arles, Cassis, etc. It turned out to be a perfect location for all of our visits. My 3 year old son had plenty of room to run and play. We loved the house itself and the location. It was great to have the little shopping area just down the hill with all of the provisions we needed and we never needed to go into town and fight parking to get our supplies. I would recomend this house to anyone who would like to spend some restful time in the Aix area.

My family and I enjoyed a 2 week holiday at this lovely property last summer. With endless possibilities for touring and sightseeing in the area, day trips abound, the house was a perfect jumping-point for enjoying the best that the region has to offer. We equally enjoyed spending quiet afternoons soaking in the sun and lounging by the pool, as well as dining outdoors on the terrace at nights. The house was comfortable and cool, full of charm and complete with all of the necessities for our stay. We had a fabulous time here and are looking forward to our return!

Last July was our first time in the Provence area and so far one of our favourite vacations!! The house and property and its location could not have been more perfect! The house is beautiful and equipped with everything needed to have a wonderful and relaxing time. The location was very central and close to quaint little villages and towns as well as Cote d'Azur was not too far for us to do daytrips to Nice, Cannes, Monaco and many more little towns along the beach. We will be back for sure !!!

Last year was one of the most memorable vacations my husband and I have ever had! This house and its location could not have been better for our first time in Provence. The house itself is wonderful, accomodating, the pool was a wonderful bonus on the really hot days. The location was very central to everything that we wanted to do and see. With a rental car we found it very easy to go on day trips to the Cote d'Azur and enjoy some beach life, as well as wineries and lovely little villages and towns. Everything was accessable and close enough. We also enjoyed just the being in the house relaxing and making food and enjoying the tranquility of the property. We will come back to this house for sure !!
