South Lake Leelanau is the Best of Both Worlds - a sought after Fishing Lake and an All-Water Sports Lake. Lake Leelanau, being a natural spring fed lake that flows into Lake Michigan at the dam in Leland, is simply beautiful in itself.
There is nothing like sitting on the deck while sipping your morning coffee and catching the sun's first glistening rays of the day peek across the lake. Watch the kids swim right out in front of the cottage 20 feet to the water, while the guys troll for a walleye.
We spent $9000.00 in Spring 2010 updating the cottage, taking out walls in kitchen, new flooring, and new windows. Winter 2011 we remodeled the bathroom, installed new tile, cabinets, pocket door to improve the bathroom.
You will feel right at home in our cottage with a TV, DVD,VCR, Cable, Internet Connection, a well equipped kitchen, newer stove Maytag Gemini double oven. You'll love our 20 x 25' deck that faces the lake stacked with seating, chairs and newer gas grill. There is also a lawn swing by the shoreline. Nice sandy lake bottom swimming area no rocks or muck.
We put out 120 feet of dock and it's shallow and a hard sandy bottom all the way past the dock - wonderful for swimming and just playing in the water! Drag a chair around the fire pit for an evening campfire by the lake.
Bring your boat and tie up to our dock. The public boat ramp is just 2 miles north of the cottage. There are several spots to travel to by boat (or car). Lakeside at Perrins Landing is fun to stop or gas, get a Coney dog or a long beach. Dick's in Lake Leelanau is always a must for lunch or supper. And a trip to Lake Leelanau would never be complete without the trip to Leland for ice cream/shop/eat!
We are sure you will fall in love with Lake Leelanau too!
Sleeping Bear Dunes is a short drive from the cottage and won 2011 GMA "Most Beautiful Place in America" contest.

Why the Owner Chose Lake Leelanau
Great location, waterfront home with nice sandy lake bottom and clear water. Nice vacation area near winery, and remote country area. Watch out for the deer, turkey, ducks, fox while driving in the area! Yet 20 drive to major city of Traverse City MI with all the shopping needed. Can also head the other direction to remote "fish town" of lealand on lake Michigan, the Sleeping Bear Dunes are just a short drive away and won the 2011 GMA "Most Beautiful Place in America" contest.
The Unique Benefits at this House

Walleye come in to feed at on drop off! You will always see local fishermen fishing this spot! Water level drops from 25 feet to much deeper level about 300 feet from shore. Walleye come in to feed at this drop off so fishermen troll this area! I have also caught bass in this area.

We stayed at this cottage the week of July 18-25 and had a great time. The neighbors are very friendly and helpful. We had 6 adult people plus two dogs and fit comfortably. Plenty of parking even for our boat trailer. The long dock was very convenient for our boat.
