Our new luxurious home (completed in 2008) is located in the beautiful Wildcat neighborhood of Big Canoe and offers something for everyone. You will enjoy year-round mountain ridge views from our comfortable 5 bedroom, 4 ½ bath home filled with custom and European antique furnishings.
The main level features a family room with vaulted ceiling and massive stone wood-burning fireplace opening to a large dining area furnished with a 9-foot farm table which seats 10 ... perfect for large gatherings. The fully equipped kitchen features granite countertops, custom knotted-cherry cabinets, kitchen-aid appliances and a breakfast bar for extra seating or just visiting with the cook. Relax in Amish rockers on the screened porch and enjoy the gas fireplace, 40” HDTV, or the scenic mountain views. Just off the porch, the upper deck offers a large gas grill and additional dining area. The master bedroom suite is furnished with a four-poster king bed, sitting area, walk-in closet and dressing area with built-ins and window seat. Treat yourself to a relaxing bath in the air-soft soaking tub or separate tiled rain shower.
The lower level offers a second family room furnished with a leather sectional sofa, chairs, and a 52” HDTV, DVD player, and Wii. A wet bar and pool room featuring a regulation pool table complete the entertainment area. A second master suite with a canopy king bed, sitting area, and separate bath with tiled shower make this a perfect choice for couples sharing the home. Two other bedrooms (each sleeps 4) with bunk or trundle beds connected by a double-vanity Jack and Jill bath provide additional sleeping accommodations. A large deck off the lower level family room provides a quiet retreat for reading a book or a nap.
The garage wing offers an extra large bonus/queen bedroom with sitting area and private bath with tiled shower, walk-in pantry, and laundry room featuring extra-capacity washer and dryer.

This house is gorgeous. It has everything. The furniture is comfortable and the decor is beautiful. Even the bunk beds are comfortable! We had a ladies weekend and we had a great time. The kitchen is fully equipped with quality appliances, dishes and cookware. Quality linens. We had everything we needed and more. The pictures really don't do it justice. We could not have been happier with our stay.

We had a wonderful time at this house! The house was absolutely beautiful and was full of all the amenities you could want! We had a group of 14 adults coming up to Big Canoe for the weekend and this house was the perfect fit! It was large enough for everyone to sleep soundly and perfect for evenings watching movies and hanging out! The downstairs media room with a wet bar and pool table was especially fun! The owner was extremely nice and helpful and answered all the questions I had! I would recommend this house to anyone who wants to have a great time in Big Canoe!!!!

The pictures do not do justice to the wonderful ambiance of this property. Every detail and need have been foreseen, from the richly appointed kitchen (full of pans, dishes, measuring cups, toaster and more!) to the stock of games and movies in the basement. The bed linens, pillows and towels are all of very high quality as well. We have stayed at The Retreat twice now, and had a hard time leaving. Nearby attractions that we enjoy the most are Historic Dahlonega, GA and the Amicacola Falls State park. The North Georgia Outlet malls are also fairly nearby. Their is also a superb mexican restaurant called Fuego within five minutes of the property. Although Big Canoe seems to have wonderful summertime amentities, we have only been in the fall. The area celebrates Oktoberfest, which is fun, and there are many apple, pumpkin and corn maze type seasonal attractions nearby.

Our Canasta Club, consisting of eight ladies ranging in age from the 50's to the 80's, just returned from this beautiful house in Big Canoe. The accommodations were, indeed, outstanding. Our goal was to play Canasta, RummiKub, relax and eat well. We were able to accomplish all these goals with easy and in fine style. The owner is very intuitive, thinking of everything that we could possibly need, including two very nice card tables with very comfortable chairs. This was our third visit, and plans are underway for the fourth one. Located only about an hour from home, Big Canoe (this house in particular) was a very well-kept secret, but now that we've discovered it, word of mouth will help its reputation grow. WE LOVED IT! Description - accurate Photos - excellent Maintenance - very satisfactory Owner - extremely helpful and accommodating Recommendation - with no reservation Activities - the two restaurants we patronized on various were wonderful!

Superb house. We had a family weekend at Big Canoe, and three couples stayed in this home. The floor plan provided privacy for bedrooms, the furnishings were comfortable and it is very attractively decorated. It is spacious and in a beautiful setting. The owner was accomodating and helpful. We would not hesitate to recommend this home to our friends.

This is a wonderful house! My husband and I stayed there, along with four other couples and it was the perfect house. It would be great for families with children also. Very well decoarated. Just an amazing house. Went there for a guys golf outing and all of the guys in the one group were quite impressed with the quality of the house and its furnishings. You will not be disappointed with the house or the views from the back deck.
