Fun Family Reunion

Our huge family totally enjoyed our 4th of July weekend reunion at the Grand View. My daughter, a professional photographer, exclaimed as she stepped inside for the first time that the photos don't begin to do justice to this beautiful home. This place is fabulous. In addition to an incredible, breathtaking view, every room of the home is beautifully furnished and decorated. We even appreciated that it was a ways out of town - soooo relaxing. Six of our group spent one morning halibut fishing, with all but one of them catching their limit. YUM! Another day we spent clam-digging at Ninilchick as well as another afternoon on the beach at Anchor Point with real up-close-and-personal encounters with the bald eagles that nest nearby. With three separate "gathering areas", the home was perfect for simultaneous games, TV watching, or just general re-connecting. We have already recommended this property to friends and will definitely be returning at the first possible opportunity. We were blessed to gather our family together in such a beautiful place. Saving the Best for Last

Our group was so delighted with the home. It was such a thrill to enjoy the accomodations, location and the scenery that your home had to offer. Everything, from the reservations, the help we received from the local contact and the home itself was spectacular. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by 2 moose and a calf that were grazing on the front yard area. That added to the excitement to our trip. This is truly a jewel in Alaska and we will certainly be telling all of our friends and family about our stay at Grand View Retreat. This is better than a 5 star hotel.

Simply Paradise

This chalet was everything and more that we hoped for. Bedrooms were very spacious and private. The kitchen was fully equipped with every kitchen aid needed. The scenery was spectacular and did I mention wildlife ....WOW!!! We were in moose heaven, saw moose on a daily basis. Early one morning 6 moose could be seen from the balcony, a cow with 2 calves, a cow with 1 calf and a lone cow. The booking process went very smooth. The owner/agent was very informative. I received an E-mail prior to our stay with a detailed list of instructions on how everything in the house operates and where to find it. Great Job This home is like the beautiful state of Alaska, words do it no justice.... you must see it

EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS

We stayed July 2010 and this house exceeded all expectations! ! It was a fabulous house and the view is breath taking from the gigantic glass windows that looks out over the snowcapped mountains, water and even glaciers.The house was very clean, well equipped, well decorated, multiple balconies, We loved Homer and will be back again and hope to stay in this house because it was a large part of what made this such a wonderful vacation. This house is like your own private resort.

SPENT A WEEK HERE THIS SUMMER. GORGEOUS, BEAUTIFUL, CHALET. INCREDIBLE VIEWS. WOW! WOW! WOW! EXTREMELY CLEAN,CONFORTABLE AND VERY LARGE HOME WHERE WE ALL GATHERED FOR OUR FAMILY REUNION. PICTURES AND DESCRIPTION ON WEBSITE DONT COME CLOSE TO DESCRIBING THE PLACE, YOU HAVE TO SEE IT FOR YOURSELF. WE SAW MOOSE IN THE YARD DAILY. WE HOPE TO RETURN AGAIN.

Wedding Excellence

The house was everything I needed and wanted in a site for my wedding. We held the wedding outside, but I had a number of out of town wedding party guests and the house made a great retreat for us all. We loved the view which is what attracted my fiance' and I when we initially started looking for a location. The house was homey and elegant at the same time. It really made a very special day even better.

from Homeowner's Guest book at the Chalet. It has been a dream of mine to spend 3 weeks in Alaska and this was the perfect house too do it. The view is incredible. There is a resident cow moose with her calf that we saw 4 times as well as several other cows. We caught lots of halibut and even went silver salmon fishing on the Kasilof. we mostly enjoyed our long evenings here cooking and eating the great seafood and the long coffees in the mornings. I hope this home is available next year.

Enjoyed my 2 week stay at this luxourious Chalet. It had all modern facilities including WIFI and internet and Cable TV too. Saw wildlife such as Moose and Bald eagle near the property. Will go there once again in 2009. Very close to the famous Homer Spit to go salmon and halibut fishing. Will definitely recommend this chalet to all my friends and family. The view of the glazier capped mountains is just breathtaking from the living room with your morning coffee..

We stayed more than a week here month of August. It was very comfortable and the view especially from the living room was spectacular, Glazier Capped mountains to look at each morning with your coffee is beautiful indeed. We also sat outside and saw wildlife..Moose and Bald eagles..Very close to the famous Homer spit so salmon and halibut fishing was very easy. Very clean well maintained, with all modern facilities including internet and WIFI even in the house. I will definitely re visit this property next year 2009. Highly recommend to anyone who is planning a fishing visit to Homer.

This lodge is absolutely beautiful. The pictures don't do it justice. The view of bay and the glasers is breathtaking. My husband I spent several days there in early October. There is so much space you nearly get lost the first time you tour the house. It has everything you could possibly need to be very comfortable. It's far enough off the street that you don't hear traffic. Very private. No close neighbors. Just the right distance from town. Not to far from shopping and restaurants. I highly recommend it!
