Location: Fish Creek, Door County, Northeast, Wisconsin, USA (1.5 Hours from Green Bay Airport) View Map
Accommodations: Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths (Sleeps 4-6)
Keywords: Cabin, Cottage
Sleep away from the hustle and bustle of "downtown" Door County in a quiet little cottage located in a Sugar Maple grove. Have your coffee on the deck each morning as you listen to sounds of woodpeckers and other forest songbirds, or relax with a drink in the evening and take in the call of the whippoorwill. Build a campfire in the fire pit and roast some marshmallows until late in the quiet evening. Whatever your pleasure our cottage offers peace and relaxation.
The central location of the cottage makes a great home base for day trips to Fish Creek (5 miles), Baileys Harbor (5.5 miles), Ephraim (3.5 miles), Sister Bay (7.7 miles), Whitefish Dunes State Park (17 miles) Peninsula State Park (3 miles to Golf course). It also provides a great location for touring Door County on Bicycle. The cottage is located on a 2.2 mile residential "loop" that offers a nice quiet paved walk with mostly residential traffic.
If water sports and boating are calling you to Door County, we have plenty of room to park most boat trailers. Again, our central location makes for short trips to public access ramps.
The Master Bedroom is located on the North side of the cottage. This does offer privacy from to two-twin bed room, located off the living room. A small bathroom with shower is just near the Master bedroom, while the full bathroom (with clothes washer and dryer) is off the Kitchen area. All towels and linens are provided.
The Kitchen comes with the basics; a few pots and pans, and few utensils, a coffee maker, a toaster, a blender, a refrigerator/freezer, a microwave and an electric oven/range. Basically stated, the necessities to make a few home cooked meals but nothing you'll be seeing on America's Test Kitchen (LOL). Outside we have a basic Weber charcoal grill, so if you want to do some "bar-b-que", bring some coals and/or lighter.
Firewood for the fireplace and fire pit is provided. Please don't bring any of your own firewood for all the obvious reasons. Marshmallow roasting sticks are found on the ground under most trees. Kindling is also found on the forest floor.
The property you will rent is part of the original homestead of my wife's family. Founded in the 1870's, the property was painstaking cleared and farmed until it was sold off 40 years ago to purchase a tractor. When the opportunity came, Evelyn and I re-purchased the improved property and began renting out the cottage. In some cases the owners of the property are hundreds of miles away. Sometimes they aren't even on the same continent. We will be just next door to help ensure your stay is as stress free as possible.
Evelyn and I consider ourselves fortunate to be able to live and work in Door County. We both love everything it has to offer, but mostly the dark summer nights and the quiet of location.

The lovely, quiet, wooded location in Door County is great for biking, hiking or sitting by the fire, yet close to all the many activities. Definately want to return.

The cabin was even better than we anticipated...large, comfortable rooms. Very clean and well maintained. We really felt at home. The "cabin book" listed all the info we needed to know for a successful stay. Lovely surroundings away from the hustle and bustle, but still close to all the area attractions. Peninsula State Park, The American Folklore Theater, the Birch Creek Music Performance Ctr, Red Putter Mini Golf, Drive In Theater are just some of the fun places and activities near by. We'd definitely like to return!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.
