The website photos do not really do this wonderful apartment justice. The kitchen has been recently renovated. (In fact, a new cabinet was installed when we were there.) The furniture and artwork have a decorator's flair. And the photos can't do justice to the fabulous linens on the beds, the bottle of champagne waiting for us. Everything is a higher quality than one would expect in a rental. My wife and I, together with my sister and her husband, stayed here for four nights after a week in the Loire Valley. The Petite Maison is in a fabulous location - just across the bridge from Notre Dame and Ile St. Louis. The area abounds with restaurants and wonderful stores. It is perfect for two couples, affording significant privacy. There is WIFI and the landline phone offers free calling to the US. The patio is a rare treat. David, the on-site property manager, helpfully arranged for us to be picked up at the Gare Montparnasse on arrival and dropped at CDG on departure. We will recommend to all of our friends travelling to Paris.

We spent a week in this lovely home. It was absolutely perfect in every way. Incredible location, fantastic and tasteful decor and David was terrific. Close to Metro, Taxi Stand and walking distance to an incredible array of restaurants and shops. Michelle keeps a top-notch experience for her guest. Towel heaters, all dish soaps, coffee, etc…We loved our experience!!!

Our 5-night stay at Petite Maison was wonderful. The neighborhood is fantastic; once we walked away from Notre Dame, there was scarcely a tourist to be seen. Shopping is convenient and the local boulangerie made breakfast each day a delight. Transportation is quite convenient - busses, RER and the Metro are all handy. The bedrooms are on the small side, but we had so much space in the lovely living room and dining area that it didn't matter. Everything was clean and well-maintained and David, the local manager, was extremely attentive and responsive. The owner helped us with lots of trip-planning information especially ideas for our teenaged granddaughters' shopping requirements. We look forward to returning to Paris and to our "home" there, Petite Maison. Thank you Michelle.

My sister and I stayed in this apartment for one entire, magical week this past October and are still sighing over what a warm and wonderful experience it was. The owners have thought of everything a traveler might need and have stocked the apartment with so many considerate supplies and little luxuries that it feels like your best friends have offered you their home while they're away. The beds and linens are incredibly comfortable and quite inviting at the end of a long day of hoofing it around the city and there was no lack of hot water for showers during our stay. It was wonderful to have a washer and dryer in the apartment and I highly advise you to pack as little clothing as you can because of it--this will leave more room in your suitcase for bringing back treasures from Paris, many of which you will find right in this charming Left Bank neighborhood. So much is right outside your doorstep here that you will pat yourself on the back daily for being so clever to have found such a perfect place to stay. The manager, David, is near at hand and ready to help with all manner of things, from practical matters regarding the apartment, to transportation, reservations, and advice on current cultural goings-on in the city. I know that the grand luxury hotels are quite wonderful in their own way, but if you are looking to immerse yourself in an authentic neighborhood, to really play at living in Paris--right down to shopping the local market each day for fresh cheese and bread to enjoy with some wine in the evening while resting up for the next day's adventures--you will love this apartment. My sister and I certainly plan on coming back to it some day.

My friend and I were at Petite Maison for 5 nights and it lived up to all of our expectations. Even before we arrived, Michelle helped make our trip fabulous with all of her pre-trip advice and recommendations. The location is truly perfect, close to everything but quietly ensconced on a lovely street. We had a terrific trip and can't wait to return to Paris and will definitely rent this space again.

I would love to give a bad review just to keep this place a secret so that it will be available when next we return to Paris. But that wouldn't be fair to Michelle. Petite Maison is a lovely garden apartment right in the heart of the city, but it is as quiet as could be. I am very sensitive to noise when sleeping, and never had a problem, even on the night of festivities celebrating the summer solstice. My wife and I took our three children with us and we were all very comfortable, though our youngest camped out on the bedroom floor. Two adult couples or a family of four would be perfectly comfortable. Wonderful resources at the apartment for exploring Paris, ~100m from the market at Place Maubert and the Metro station, three restaurants within 50m of the front door (including Les Gourmands de Notre Dame, which was our favorite little bistro on our trip), and a local, English-speaking building manager who was available at any time. Absolutely no complaints!!! We hope to return soon!

Petite Maison is without a doubt the most perfect apartment in Paris. We were a group of four women and our experience could not have been better. The apartment is just as pictured (maybe even better) and the location is excellent. It is convenient to shops, stores, restaurants, a metro station and is absolutely quiet at night (the bedrooms are in the back of the apartment away from the street which is a side street without much traffic) As an extra bonus you get your own private garden in which to enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine. Grocery stores (including a Greek store with delicious honey yogurt) were steps away as is the three day a week street market and numerous restaurants. We had every amenity that one could think of and then some. Accessibility to the apartment manager was a phone call away and questions were answered promptly. The apartment was even ready two hours early which was appreciated after a long flight from the US. The beds were extremely comfortable, free wi-fi access, free telephone calls to the states and the showers were fabulous with water pressure that rivals many hotels. When renting Petite Maison think staying at a luxury hotel with comfy robes and slippers, lots of room, comfortable furniture and a cozy fireplace if you are lucky enough to be there in the winter (we were not!) The information book was an invaluable reference for everything from how to work the washer and dryer to getting a taxicab. And Michelle is a joy to work with. She is the heart and soul of Petite Maison and her welcoming touch is everywhere. She answered all of our questions, was prompt in her communications and takes care to provide an atmosphere that makes one wish you never had to leave. Not only would I recommend this apartment to a family member or friend, I already have and will definitely be returning to Petite Maison on my next trip to Paris.

Our family of 3 adults stayed several nights in April 2011. We found the apartment to be absolutely perfect, with every amenity one could want. The place was clean, spacious, tastefully decorated, quiet, and in a great location. Michelle is a detail person, very helpful, gave clear instructions, and has even created a handy "owners manual" with detailed information on using the appliances, local shopping, the metro, etc. I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment and would love to stay here again. I cannot imagine a more perfect place to stay in Paris!

What a charmingly perfect place for 2 couples in Paris! It is well situated by Notre Dame, in a neighborhood with great food and amenities. And it is Q-U-I-E-T!! We only wish that the weather had been a bit warmer to enjoy the courtyard in the morning for croissants and cafe au lait. Not only is there internet and phone, but a washer and dryer, TV if you must, and lots of guide books for things to do. I loved the beamed ceilings and reading the history of the remodeling. Thank you Michelle and Alan for sharing your gem with us!! A bientot, j'espere!!

Peteit Maison on Rue Albert is a treasure! The home is cozy with lovely decor. The beds are most comfortable, the towels are top quality, and the kitchen is fully equipped should one wish to dine-in. There is no finer location--you are literally in the center of Paris. Markets and bakeries abound and shopping on St Germane is wonderful. We cannot wait to return to this precious gem of a home? The listing description was right on with accurate photos. It was very clean and the owner was over and above what is necessary to accommodate her guests. I would highly recommend this property to anyone.

This apartment is a wonderful base for visiting Paris- you can walk across the river to Notre Dame, walk three blocks to all the little shops you need, use Metro Maubert as a base for all of Paris, and then come home at night and light a fire and relax. All the little things are there too- comfy robes, a washer dryer, and good strong showerheads. It worked out well for two couples, since each bedroom has it's own bathroom. The bedrooms are small and the bathrooms are tiny, but there were great towels and plenty of hot water and as for the small rooms, well that is the trade off for being smack in the center of the prettiest city in the universe. I'll take that trade and I'd rent Petite Maison again.

I don't want people to know this, but Paris is perfect in January. Little chilly but the lack of tourists makes it heavenly. This apartment could not have been better. The location..perfect! The apartment is clean, very well furnished and has everything you could need. All amenities are there and everything else is right outside your door. The bonus to all of this is Michelle! She is wonderful to work with, from start to finish. She takes the extra steps to make sure you are settled and goes beyond any other apartment rental I've experienced with all the extras she has in the apartment. Robes, slippers, soap, candles, dvd's, printer, kitchen essentials and even had croissants & fruit waiting for us when we arrived. You will love staying here and I only hope the apartment will be available on my next trip to Paris. Thank you Alan, Michelle and Tess for sharing such a wonderful place!

Three of us spent a week in early December 2010 in Paris. And were delighted to have booked La Petite Maison. The apartment is well located, well furnished and comfortable. We would otherwise have had to book 2 hotel rooms. Staying together in the same place (yet having separate bedrooms and bathrooms) was wonderful! The owners are easy to work with and provide a wealth of information to help you make the most of your visit. We took advantage of several of their recommendations and were not disappointed. We had some of the most wonderful food! You can't beat the location, so much within walking distance. And convenient metro to get to all the further places we wanted to visit. It snowed while we were there so it was great to have a washer and dryer to take care of our wet jeans and socks. I would return there in a heartbeat! And I'm sure my friends would, too!

My sister, my two daughters and I had the great fortune to have found Petit Maison for our stay in Paris. We were there to celebrate my birthday and the apartment was perfect for us. You are minutes from Notre Dame, the Metro, bakery and cheese shops, and yet it is located in a very quiet street. Coming back to the apartment after a full day of sightseeing was like coming home. I recommend Petit Maison without reservation.

We just returned from a month in France which included a too short week in Paris. Petite Maison is the absolute perfect location and a wonderful, comfortable, charming apartment. From the start Michelle was incredibly helpful with advice and suggestions (including EXACTLY how to get from the apt to Versailles!!)...the booking process couldn't have been any easier and she was a delight to work with. The apt is just like it is pictured on the site, filled with guide books and special touches. The private courtyard was a wonderful place to enjoy wine, bread, and cheese from the many nearby shops. The Place Maubert market (on, I think, Wednesday) was fantastic and just around the corner. We loved being so near to everything...we walked almost everywhere. And it was a great pleasure to return to this perfect spot. I would highly recommend this apt to anyone who wants to be truly comfortable in a quiet location, but near to Notre Dame, the Seine, the Cluny, lovely shops, St Germain, Le Marais...it is all right there! When we return to Paris, this is the only place I would consider staying!! Thanks, Michelle, Alan, and Tess!!

We had the great pleasure of staying at Petit Maison for a short break in Paris. All the rave reviews of the apartment by previous guests are spot on; location is fantastic - v.v close to the river, great markets and restaurants. Michelle is a pleasure to deal with but above all we had a beautiful place to stay, some lovely personal touches to welcome us and we truly felt like we were in a 'home' in Paris. We were travelling with a baby, and we were well catered for in terms of his comfort which is important as parents. I have visited the city before too many times to count and would certainly recommend a stay such as this hands down over a hotel (unless you are cashed up for a stay in George V!) and would recommend it without reservation to anyone thinking of visiting the city.

Just returned from a terrific stay at Petite Maison. The property was wonderful. Just a block away from the bustle of Notre Dame, but tucked away on a quite street. The owner was truly fantastic - from my first inquiry to the special surprise touches upon arrival. Stayed here with my wife and two daughters (18 and 20). We loved the central location, access to the local farmers market and shops. Metro stop is steps away. The apartment was comfortable, clean, and filled with many thoughtful Paris touches (music, guides, DVD's, etc) and so much better than trying to live out of a hotel for 9 nights. The property is characterized on VRBO accurately. We hope to return again.

Just back from a 4 night stay at Petite Maison with our 10 year old daughter and I wanted to share our experience with anyone searching for the perfect Paris apartment--search no longer. THIS IS IT. Steps away from Notre Dame, Isle de la Cite, Place Maubert which has two great patisseries, a GREAT cheese shop (tip--do NOT touch the cheese...show the shop keepers what you want and they will take good care of you), a very helpful wine shop, and a charcuterie with fabulous rotisserie chicken, roasted potatoes), a green grocer...in essence everything you could hope to have at your fingertips. Personal touches abound in this lovely apartment-comfy robes, thick towels, a fully equipped kitchen including even shopping bags and laundry. The apt is on the main floor, so no need to haul suitcases up flights of stairs. Walk down your street, across the Seine to the front of Notre Dame, and stand on the Point Zero marker (the point from which all distances are measured in France), and begin your own explorations of the most beautiful city in the world.

We just returned from a four night stay at Petite Maison, and it was about as close to perfection as one could get. The location, right near Notre Dame, is excellent for walking to various sights, and it is on a quiet street, so there is not a lot of noise. There is an outside door and then an inner gate, so you feel very safe, and the apartment itself is beautiful and has everything you need. If you have a problem, you just call the 'Well Done' service and it is solved for you. On top of it all, the owner sees to it that you have some special, personalized surprises. I have no idea why someone would choose a hotel when you can stay at a place like this. It was perfection.

We had a wonderful stay. There were 2 of us girls celebrating our 40th birthdays. The pictures on the site are accurate except that the rooms are smaller in person as should be expected in one of the oldest sections of Paris. Highlights: 1. We each had our own bedroom and bath giving us privacy. The beds can be set up as twins making it even more versatile. 2. The location is excellent. The Maubert station is at the end of the street. You can easily walk to the I'le St. Louis, one of my favorite areas of Paris. You're on the back side of Notre Dame when you walk out the door and walk a few steps. The Latin Quarter was a really neat area that I hadn't explored before this trip. It's now a new favorite. 3. Food and shopping options are great. The market at Place Maubert is great and open Tues, Thur, and Sat. We bought linens to take home and produce for the week. There are 2 great boulangeries on the Place Maubert. There were also other food shops we didn't take advantage of. There are 2 Franprixs close by with the closer one open on Sundays and until 9:00 at night. We could have eaten every meal at home between the market, the grocers, and the very well-equipped kitchen, but we chose not to! Atelier Maitre Albert next door was our last meal Saturday night and worth every penny. We should have tried the prix fixe lunch but didn't make it back in time during the day. 4. Just about everything you need is supplied in the apartment. Dishwashing and clothes-washing detergent, coffee, tea, spices, sugar, many guidebooks, videos, books. The kitchen had a good sized refrigerator, microwave, oven, stove, and dishwasher. 5. The owner is located in LA and was very approachable and responsive to all questions. 6. It's amazing how quiet this location is. We walked off the RER B into all that Notre Dame tourist traffic and were initially discouraged. Then a few minutes later we cleared that and found our street, Maitre Albert, which is almost hidden. In summary, we loved this place. My friend and I would both highly recommend the property and the owner. We plan on using it again when we bring our families.

My husband, his mother and I visited Paris at the end of October and we couldn't have been more pleased with this lovely apartment. Let me start by saying that we have high expectations for both our accommodations and food when we travel, and we were not disappointed on this trip to Paris. The apartment was equipped with everything we could have needed (washer AND dryer, iron, hairdryers, soaps, and beds so comfortable you could happily die in them). Michelle was a dream to work with and after staying in Sicily and Rome prior to Paris, it was extremely convenient to pay for this apartment by credit card instead of in cash, like so many of the European rentals require. Michelle mailed the keys to our house before we left and sent detailed instructions on getting to and inside the apartment. We took a cab from Orly airport for around 30 euros and with Michelle's directions, the driver was able to get us there without any issues. Upon arrival, there was a bottle of wine and a much-appreciated binder with instructions for operating the washer/dryer and information about the neighborhood. Don't bother bringing any travel guides, because there are many current travel guides and maps to choose from under the television. We only contacted the apartment manager once to ask about the trash pickup, but he was extremely pleasant and spoke perfect English. The apartment is right across the street from Notre Dame, in a quaint, quiet neighborhood without many tourists. We always felt safe and had an opportunity to frequent several of the food shops near the apartment. It was so nice to buy our produce from the outdoor market, stop by the bakery and cheese shop, then take everything home and prepare a real "French" breakfast. If you don't feel like cooking, but don't want to eat out either, there is a great shop next to the outdoor market that sells very good prepared food. For a real splurge, try Michelin star restaurant "Christoph's" for dinner. We were lucky to get in without reservations and had one of the most amazing meals of our lives. I highly recommend reading the book Michelle sends with the keys. It was invaluable and really helped us enjoy our time in Paris by better understading the French mindset. Our only regret is not being able to fully enjoy the beautiful garden due to the weather. Oh well, it's an excuse to return in the spring!

We have stayed in various rental apartments in Paris every year for the past 9 years, but none of them match the comfort, convenience, charm, and location of the "Petite Maison". We stayed at the Petite Maison from August 28 to September 10th--and it was two weeks of sheer bliss. whenever we traveled for a night or two and returned, we felt like we came "home". Michelle is the most knowledgeable and most "available" owner we have ever come across, and absolutely no detail in comfort and class was omitted. Everything was spic-and-span, beautiful, and very home-y. Bakeries, cheese stores, delis, grocery stores, banks, newspaper kiosks, book stores, subway stations, and at least 20 restaurants were only 1/2 block to 1/ block away. The location, just off the Seine overlooking the Notre Dame, and a few steps to charming Ile St. Louis (& its myriad of Berthillon ice creame shops), is absolutely unparalleled. You can't possibly have dreamed of a better location. Michelle gave the best recommendations for the most fabulous little out-of-the-way restaurants just a block or three away, and she knew and readily shared all of the best kept shopping secrets in Paris. We're never staying in Paris again unless we can have the use of this apartment--when you've experienced the best, there is no settling for second-rate.

Our family of four stayed at Petite Maison this past summer and loved it! The location was great -- close to the metro, Notre Dame, the Marais, the Latin Quarter. We loved getting fresh breakfast food in Place Maubert and eating it in the apartment garden. The apartment is comfortable, nicely decorated, and had all the amenities we needed for a great stay in Paris. I would highly recommend Petite Maison for an authentic stay in Paris.

Michelle, "Les Girls" cannot thank you enough for the stay at "Petite Maison". It truly felt like home the minute we stepped inside. Olivier was there to greet us and tell us everything we needed to know about the apt., as well as valuable tourist info. It was so convenient to everything, restaurants, banks, shopping, the metro, and of course, Notre Dame. We visited almost all of your suggestions in the info. packet and we think you are truly an expert tour guide. Ii will certainly return to "Petite Maison" on my next visit to Paris!

We truly enjoyed everything about our stay at the "Petite Maison". The apartment is centrally located on the left bank of the Seine almost directly across from Notre Dame. We were able to walk almost anywhere, were close to shopping, wonderful restaurants, the metro and many of the Paris highlights. My husband and I were there with our college-aged son and a friend. It was perfect for us-- allowing us to enjoy some meals at home and providing common space to visit with one another when we were'nt touring the city. Everything was clean and welcoming (very European)in an old neighborhood with so much charm. I only wish we had visited when the weather might have allowed us to enjoy the inviting garden area. We were so happy to stay in a place where we felt so much a part of Paris--like we belonged! We can't wait to visit again.
