Our week in Healdsburg was unbelievable and staying at Casa Privata topped the list! Everything about it is perfect and so enhanced our vacation. We enjoyed the beautiful drive to the house where we always felt like we had stepped into paradise. We had warm, sunny weather so that our 17 month old granddaughter spent much happy time splashing in the pool and jacuzzi. We looked forward to a return trip. This is the perfect spot for a quiet get-away in a gorgeous setting. The house is beautifully decorated and updated, and the outdoor space is wonderful too. The pool, hot tub, bocce court, outdoor grilling/eating areas, and surrounding vineyards (and of course beautiful weather) made for a most enjoyable retreat after an afternoon out wine tasting around Healdsburg. We loved touring the wineries as well as dining at the fabulous restaurants in town. The house is a quick drive from town even though it feels far away from it all while you are there. It was the perfect spot for some friends to enjoy a birthday weekend. I think we will have to go back again!

We had a lovely time. The property is beautiful -- luxurious and spacious, set amidst breathtaking scenery. The equal of Italy or France. House was spacious and very nicely decorated. It could accommodate a larger crowd than we had (4 plus two year old) and would be a lovely site for a larger getaway. Fantastic location, close to Healdsburg and great dining and shopping. Awash in fabulous wine possibilities. Largest problem: the drinking water. It smelled and tasted "off" (sort of mildewy). So we bought and brought in gallons of H2o for ourselves. We would hope that would/could be improved. Minor issues: hot tub had leaves in it (though it was absolutely beautiful rustic tub and a great night-time experience); he kitchen pots and pans were not great. All in all, a lovely site and time, however. We would love to visit again in more clement weather since we could not really use pool or bocce because of rain.

Unfortunately, we were not made aware the “off taste” you said the water had until after you left. We, as well as most other residents in the area, have well water not city water. We share ours with out neighbor and it does contain a lot of minerals. With all the rain we have had, you probably tasted more of a mineral taste than usual. Out of the hundreds of people who have stayed here, we’ve never encountered that problem. Our large outdoor Jacuzzi was cleaned before you arrived, and being that it had been raining and windy, it wouldn’t be unusual to have leaves in it. Our kitchen is equipped with mostly copper pots and the copper pots have a tendency to tarnish with use. We hope you will join us again when the weather is a little bit sunnier. Cheers! Lorraine

Heavenly Home in the Hills

This home is tucked away in the vineyards and framed by hills filled with cypress trees. We loved every detail of this home and couldnt wait to get back to enjoy the bocce, pool, spa and cook some amazing meals in the kitchen. Ok, so we had a chef, but still! After all, chopping veggies after a day of drinking could be deadly. Kidding aside, this property is first class and I am a very picky traveler. We highly recommend to all!

Three sets of good friends who met on the same street, who developed strong bonds from the day they did meet...with a love of good wine, great food and some laughs decided to take a great trip without dogs and kids (for a blast). Casa Privata was the chosen home. Up and down the vineyards each pair did roam. Took several dips in the pool, dined alfresco at night and over yours and other wines did drool. Dear Dale and Lorraine: Through the years of vacationing with our children - as toddlers, teens and adults, we have savored many fond memories of what they and we have affectionately called our vacation "blue-house". Casa Privata provided a story-book setting for a Wine Country Thanksgiving with family and close friends! The house had a large fireplace, which created a warm and cozy ambience. The kitchen, as it usually does, became the primary gathering place for cooking and chatting every day. The property offered endless opportunities for activities including swimming, bocce, running and walking, biking, and sitting outside while we bar-b-qued. The location was private, yet close to town and wineries! We would most definitely return to Casa Privata - only thing we'd change is if it was our own!

We are three couples who like to bike for our vacations. We came with bikes and maps and expected to enjoy the biking in the Healdsburg area, and we certainly did. We expected Casa Privada to be nice, and it was. What exceeded our expectations was the kitchen, the cooking, the wine and the way the house added to our vacation pleasure. Rather than going out for dinners, we stayed in and cooked ourselves -- we have some great cooks in the group. The stove was great, the outdoor grill superb, and we found terrific quality ingredients at Bob's market. We also enjoyed the wine made by the owners on the property -- a pretty darn good wine country vacation. It's really a treat when you can spend a day exercising & exploring, come home to a wonderful bath and spa, and then gather in the kitchen to prepare a great meal and sample wines we picked up at wineries. We think everyone will enjoy the quality beds and bedding, the excellent showers, the spa and the grounds. The house has a terrific ambience, it was fun for everyone to stay there, and it was hard to leave. We strongly recommend Casa Privada, it suits our vacation style very well. If you look around the grounds, you can imagine yourself in Tuscany or the South of France, with the hills and vineyards, the grape arbors on the patio and the quiet beauty.

Every year we plan several trips with friends and I do the trip planning. I have rented several condos and homes from companies as well as private owners...I have to say that Casa Privata was an amazing find and was happy to have such helpful owners to go along with the beautiful home. This was our 2nd time to visit the "Wine Country". Our first experience we stayed in a local Inn. This time around we lucked up on finding Casa Privata! We brought another couple and stayed 4 days (too short!). My husband and our friend loves to cook - and what a kitchen and environment to do this in! The house is absolutely beautiful and perfect for 2 couples! The master and extra bedroom are very large, with private baths (you'll love the showers!), and a sliding glass door leading out to the balcony. The outside is even more beautiful than the pictures show! We took advantage of it all -- the hot tub,the bocce court and the grill! Not to mention the lovely wine barn - and big thanks to Lorraine and Dale for welcoming us with their own wine right out of the barrel - such a treat-- In addition to the signed bottles we were given! For anyone who is looking for the perfect home, amazing owners, incredible environment, look no further than Casa Privata! We will be back! Oh, and thank you Lorraine for the fresh veggies you left for us -- what a green thumb you have - they were delicious!

Just a quick note of thanks for all your hospitatlity last week. The week was wonderful, start to finish, and we had a difficult time parting with Casa Privata on Saturday morning. The suggestions Dale made about places to visit definitely came in handy, as we visited several of the wineries up W Dry Creek Road, next door to MonteMaggiore and out to the coast for lunch at Hog Island. The house is everything we hoped for and more, and we look forward to telling anyone headed to Sonoma about our wonderful experience.

If your plans are to roam about this beautiful part of the Sonoma wine country, best not stay here at Casa Privata, as Lorraine & Dale's very special place is hard to leave. It has all the luxury of a mega wealthy one's hide-away, that pictures on site just fail to convey. We stayed 4 days and wish it had been two weeks.

The three of us were here to celebrate our 50th birthdays and what a perfect place! The small personal touches, the barrel tasting, the personalized wine, spa, pool, furnishings, beds...we could go on and on. Thank you for renting your beautiful home to us - we had a fantastic weekend. Your home was very functional, space was efficient and comfortably accommodated 2 families. The 4 children (age range from 2-8 yrs old) LOVED the swimming pool and hot tub. The location of the house (in a private gated area) provided a safe area for them to ride their bikes and freely roam through the vineyards. The entire weekend we didn't see a single car or person other than ourselves. The living space was very comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. Kitchen well equipped. We had a truly wonderful stay here, in an immaculate and stylish home nestled in a seriously magnificent setting. I know it sounds like a lot of superlatives, but this estate really delivers. Moreover, our welcome was gracious and caring, like meeting extended family for the first time. I also have to say that the estate-bottled wine is superb - flavorful, full-bodied, and a rare treat right out of the barrel. We're happy to recommend this home and these fine people, unreservedly.

What a pleasant surprise it was to arrive at this beautiful property and find out the photos on your website don't do it justice! It's beautiful. The location is private and very secluded, tucked back into the rolling hills off Dry Creek Road, but it's really convenient to Healdsburg and the dozens of local wineries! The estate wine - both the barrel tasting and complementary bottles - was, again, a pleasant surprise. We enjoyed every drop. The house is completely outfitted with high quality finishes throughout (the towels and robes were a hit). Of the many properties I've rented from private parties both here and abroad over the years, this one is a top 3 pick and I hope to return here soon - and stay longer. Thanks again for sharing your slice of paradise.

This home is spectacular. I am thrilled that the owners are sharing it with us. Absolutely EVERYTHING about this home and our hosts was wonderful. The kitchen is quite lovely and had everything we needed to make a nice barbeque dinner after a full day of visiting many local wineries. I returned home and quickly reserved Casa Privata for October to be enjoyed with my girlfriends :) It is that nice!

This house was absolutely fabulous! It is quiet and secluded, yet you are only five minutes from Healdsburg. The house is clean, well-maintained and the beds are very comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub, pool and bocce ball court. The owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome and their wine was great. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are traveling to Healdsburg.

Wow...just a great house, location and owners. Way better than we expected. First, the house is incredible. The attention to detail is amazing...First Class home with no expenses spared. Second, the location is very private yet close to all wineries and the town of Healdsburg. And third, the owners are so nice and helpful. We loved it here. The pool and hot-tub blend together with 2 waterfalls and is really amazing. A barn next door full of wine in the barrel to taste. Bocce court, acres to walk around, etc. We will book again.

This house was amazing! Beautifully designed and maintained! Love the bocce court and wine barrel tasting! The location was absolutely perfect; private and quiet, but so close to Healdsburg and all the vineyards on Dry Creek. The very reasonable rates along with the impeccable service and generosity of the owners is a dream come true combination. If you are planning a trip to wine country, staying here is an absolute must!!!
