“The Best at the Rookery” is located across the street from the sugar-white sand and magnificent beachfront near the historic Civil War site of Fort Morgan at mile marker 6 on Hwy 180, just 14 miles from Gulf Shores. The Rookery is a quaint, new 22-acre community that offers a wonderful combination of natural beauty, including beautiful sunsets, secluded beaches and numerous recreational activities within minutes. To reach the beach from “The Best," turn right on Fort Morgan Road, go left on Cortez . then straight ahead.
“The Best” has white lattice trimming, screened porch and natural wood floors. This unit conveys a sense of simplistic beauty that can only be matched by the surrounding nature. A single-family duplex unit, which offers more than ideal accommodations, is elegantly decorated to fit the most discriminating taste. This unit is completely furnished with one king-size bed, one queen-size bed and a media room with queen-size sleeper sofa, fully equipped kitchen, and a full-size washer-dryer. It has televisions with DVD/VCR players in the living and media rooms, and linens and iron and ironing board are provided along with a crib for your little one.
When not relaxing indoors, you’ll find incomparable tranquility, which includes 2 pools, pool-side tiki bar, tennis court, nature trails and more. Located just 6 miles from historic Fort Morgan, the area is known for its great fishing, bird watching and golf. Peninsula and Kiva Dunes, two top-rated golf courses, are a short drive and several more courses are within driving range. Two miles away you’ll find a free boat launch, with nearby bay or Gulf fishing. Just down the road are Fort Morgan Marina and Tacky Jack’s restaurant, which has great seafood. Tequila Bay offers Mexican fare and behind Pines Grocery at Echols you’ve got to try their fantastic half-pound cheeseburger or delicious buffalo shrimp.

Winter (Oct-Mar) Snowbird: $1100/month (6-month minimum) – Weekly $775/$125 per night - (three-night minimum)
Spring: (April-May) $775/week/$125/night (three-night minimum)
Summer/: (June-Aug) $1000/week/$140 per night (three-night minimum)
Fall: (Oct-Mar) $775/week/$125/night – (three-night minimum)
No pets -- no smoking -- must be over 25 to rent -- personal check/cashier's check, money order accepted -- refundable deposit of $250 (free of damage)-- Cleaning fee, parking & linen service total $100
