  Our condo was just the right size, the right location and the right price for our first ever family beach vacation. We loved that it was small so there was not much to clean and we could spend more time on the beach. I don't think we have ever slept in such a big bed and the kids said the pull out was great too. We brought a whole week's worth of food with us and we had plenty of room for everything in the freezer/fridge and shelves in the main closet. There were several things I loved about our location: Of the entire building, we had the closest condo to the lobby, the beach and the pool. This also meant we were very close to the cabana bar right on the beach. Our building was also the closest to an awesome restaurant and candy shop where our boys spent much of their time. I loved that I could walk next door and order a dozen raw oysters right on the beach every day! We were very close to Emerald Coast Parkway which had souvenir shops, a fun park, a superstore and familiar food chains. BUT, we weren't so close that it felt commercial and "busy." My older son enjoyed walking up and down Emerald Coast to browse in the surf shops. We loved that they had the same sorts of shops on both sides of the road so that he wouldn't have to cross over to the other side. I wish I could tell you more about the area but since our kids had never seen the ocean prior to this trip, we didn't go far from the powdery sand on the pristine beach. The condo had wi-fi and cable but we never needed either or used either. It rained one day and we went to the outlets about 20 minutes up Emerald Coast and then when we came home, even though it was windy, we walked on the beach in our jeans and sweatshirts. Watching TV was just not at the top of our list that week. The condo was too small for a washer/dryer so my one complaint is with the resort. I wish they had a laundry room in the building. We hand washed some of our items which got us through the week without having to make a trip to the laundromat. I highly reccommend that you rent from Don & Angie! Don and I communicated via phone and email often. He was helpful and kind. Thanks Bennetts!!!

  This studio condo was absolutely perfect for our trip. We felt very safe on this private property and everything was easily accessible which was a HUGE help since we had the kids with us. This room is the closest to both the beach and the pool which was wonderful. Also, the beach is never crowded because it is a private area for these condos. There was a lot of water activities to choose from if you didn't just want to soak in the sun. We used the pull out bed and the king bed and both were very comfortable. It was definitely a needed vacation for us all and we absolutely loved everything about our stay. Thank you Don for being easy to reach with my many questions before we got there. We look forward to taking the same vacation next year and would LOVE to stay here again!! It is perfect for a family get away as well as a romantic stay.

Silver Shells has so much to offer and is located convenient to amusement, restaurants, shopping, and etc. It is the perfect romantic retreat having served couples on honeymoons, returning for anniversaries, getaways as well as families with children. It has a king bed and a queen sleeper sofa so it accommodates a couple well and can also accommodate a couple with children. Thanks again for staying with us and for your kind words.   We truly enjoyed our stay in this studio unit at Silver Shells! It was perfect for my husband and myself to get away to for a few days! We were very impressed with the unit and with the owner, Don, and would definitely rent from him again. The listing was an accurate description of this property and the pictures were true to the actual appearance. The pool was huge and it was also nice to have an assigned parking space in a covered garage! The Back Porch Restaurant is in easy walking distance of this condo and there are many other restaurants nearby. We especially enjoyed breakfast at Another Broken Egg and also at The Donut Hole! Destin Commons and Silver Sands Outlet Mall are great for shopping! If you need a larger unit, check out the owners other properties in the area! Can't wait to go back again!

  Ive stayed in luxurious resorts all over the world and I have to say this place and area take some beating. As a female travelling by herself and sort of familiar with the area I was a little sceptical if the studio would live up to its amazing pictures....and it didnt disappoint, its so clean and fresh and quiet and very well equipped. After a comfy nights sleep I woke up and had my coffee on the terrace outside, its so peaceful and tranquil here! I didnt want to leave! The pool and the gorgeous beach are literally a stones throw away and easily accesssible. Don was a real gentleman to liase with, even at a fairly late time in the evening as I had arrived a little later than planned, sorry Don. My emails were responded to very promptly and everything went very smoothly, especially as I had to do it all online. I would highly recommend the studio to anyone but especially ladies like myself who want to feel safe,secure and no stress/hassle to enjoy a relaxing stay by the beach without feeling intimidated. The locals are very friendly, helpful people and this just added to the pure enjoyment of my stay. I have already asked if Don rents out his studio on a longer term as I have a feeling I will be back very soon as I hope to work here in the US. My apologies if the studio isnt available when you want it.....you may have me to blame lol.

  We've stayed at Silver Shells almost every year since it opened, however this year we were going without our children and didn't need to rent a 3 bedroom unit. This unit was perfect for the 2 of us. It was roomy and the bed was very comfy too. The unit was exactly as it was in the photos on line. Don is great to work with; returns calls & emails very quickly. We are use to being able to see the ocean from our room and since this unit was on level 2, the view was not as good. My only suggestion would be that they upgrade the coffee pot. We are big coffee drinkers and we had issues with the coffee pot for a couple of days.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

This unit is great for a couple having been the honeymoon haven many times as well as serving as a romantic getaway for many couples. It also serves well for a couple with 1 or 2 children as it has a king bed and a queen sleeper sofa. This unit is the closest rental at Silver shells to the beach and also to the pool. There is so much to do at Silver Shells and in Destin and this unit is convenient to all of this. Sorry about the coffee pot. In mid season we don't know unless we are told, so thanks for letting us know. It has been replaced. Don

  We vacationed in Destin this March. This studio room was perfect for my family. We are not much into hanging out in the room, so it was not a problem that it was a studio. The outdoor patio and chairs served as our between the beach and going out for dinner "rest period" and cocktail hour. Don was helpful with explaining the room and it's benefits. Overall, it was a great vacation! Thanks, Don!
