The description of the condo is very accurate. It was wonderful waking every morning and stepping out on the balcony to have coffee & listening to the ocean & taking in the fabulous view. Don, the owner was very good in answering emails, & communication was timely and very helpful. Condo was very nice & location was near shopping, restaurants & any needs we had. Loved the washer & dryer in the unit - very helpful w/ a family in a beach location! We would definately recommend, and would return! Thanks for a beautiful stay in Destin!Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: It was very much our pleasure having you and your family as our guest. We do hope that you will come back again. Thank you so much for taking the time to write the review. Thanks again, Don

About the owner: We LOVE Destin...we are Angie and Don Bennett and currently live north of Atlanta. We look forward to moving to Florida someday, but until then we visit whenever we can. Don lived in the Destin area in 1960 and we both vacationed in the area for many years until our first condo was reserved pre-construction in 1994. Since then our love of the area compelled us to invest in additional properties. Don is very active in the Destin area and is the founder of "Community Association Presidents of the Emerald Coast" (CAPEC), an organization striving to make the Destin area even better for property owners and their guests. Don is also a member of Citizens for Healthy Beaches working to make the world's best beach even better.
Why the Owner Chose St. Croix:
With the advantage of having spent considerable time in the Destin area over many years we recognize certain areas and properties that have exceptional advantages. The Silver Shells beach is where Don swam many times before Silver Shells was built. Our love for this beach, next door to Henderson State Park, prompted us to reserve units in the proposed property before Silver Shells. When ownership changed, these reservations converted over to Silver Shells St Croix, a Beachfront building. We were second in line to choose units and St Croix 505 and 602 were our choice. We had learned that the fifth and sixth floors are high enough to give a great view, but not so high that you lose connectivity with what is below. Silver Shells has become the Premier Resort in Destin.
