My family and I had the opportunity to stay at this wonderful home for a long three day weekend this month. It was truly an incredible experience for us. The owners must have children as there is a great loft space where my two young children played games, foosball, and kept themselves busy. It is a beautiful place in the world and provided our family with the perfect retreat. We will definitely be staying again. The home itself is beautiful. It was clean, organized, and you can tell it was built with pride. The weather was not perfect as it rained, and rained a lot. But the river roaring by, the tall trees, and the quiet made it absolutely perfect. I strongly receommend this property, and Kasey, the owner of the home was responsive, professional, and great to work with.

This Log Home was fantastic in every way! The place was very clean, the inside of the cabin was quite cozy and we did not see any critters during our stay. We would recommend this Log Home to any friend or family member. This Elkhorn Valley Area is so Beautiful!

This delightful property is excellent for families with children. It's a very nice house. To make your stay more enjoyable I would like to make these observations: 1. The house is in the woods. There are critters in the woods. When we stayed in October the mice knew winter was coming, and had invaded the house! I recommend that you keep ALL edibles in the refrigerator. Then wash down the counter top and floor with a disinfecting solution every morning to kill whatever is in mice droppings! 2. Get a can of misting bug spray. There are lots of yellow jackets and flys in the house. Some but killer would rid the house of those critters. 3. Don't bother to bring any food. Just look in the refrigerator. We found a nice quantity of meat that was just getting really ripe! 4. Finally, don't crawl on the floor. The floor is for little children. You don't want to see what's on the rug under the coffee table. Enjoy. This house will be a memorable experience that you'll talk about for years to come.

Wonderful stay at log home in April 2010

My family stayed at this wonderful home the first 3 weeks of April. We were helping on a long-planned family project in nearby Mehema and needed a comfortable place for the four of us to stay. We were overwhelmed at how thoughtfully the home was constructed, quality of the finish work, nice furnishings and well supplied kitchenware and linens. We didn't need anything but our clothes and toiletries. The home is remote but that's part of the attraction. Only 30 miles or so to Salem, there is adequate shopping in nearby towns within 12 or 13 miles. We saw a great variety of wildlife during our stay including a family of deer on the island across the river. We enjoyed the outdoor hottub and indoor woodburning fireplace. The few items that needed attention were taken care of right away by the owner, Kasey, or the property manager. I would definitely recommend this vacation home to anyone that would like a get-a-way near the old growth forests and trails.
