Murphy trip

Guest: Greg (Charlotte, NC)
Date of Stay: 11/23/11 Review Submitted: 12/04/11

My wife and I spend every Thanksgiving in Boston, visiting our son. This is the second year we have rented an apartment. This apartment was exactly as advertised and we couldn't have been happier. It was clean, well furnished and in an excellent location. We walked to restaurants and shopping and when we needed to use the Mass Transit, it was only several blocks away. It is our desire to rent this same unit again next year.

Good location

This was a clean, tidy appartment that accommodated four of us quite easily with just about enough space if you were organised with luggage. Kitchen was good, bathroom fine although no outside window. It is a lovely street and well located. What would I do to make it better? Add a friendly info book on places to eat, where to catch the bus, how to turn the heating on, use wifi, where to park, how to use the little garden etc. just so that it makes it feel a little more personal and it would just be helpful, especially if you are only there for three days.

Owner response:We're glad you enjoyed your stay! We're so sorry you missed our welcome letter on the desk. It's a two-page, laminated letter with information on restaurants, transportation, instructions for the wifi, etc.

Great Stay...

My daughter asked me to cook for her roommates and herself on my visit to Northeastern so I thought I'd check out an apartment rental instead of hotel. Thanks to this apartment I think I'll do vacation rentals more often. The unit was everything it said and more. There was plenty of space to cook a wonderful dinner for four young ladies who had plenty of space to eat, lounge, and listen to music while dinner was being prepared. Close to proximity to everything. Walked all over but bought a Charlie card just for the fun of it ~ which ended up pretty useful during the heavy rain. Recommending to my family when they decide to visit my daughter.

Highly recommended for a short stay in Boston

Guest: Bob (Portland)
Date of Stay: 08/15/11 Review Submitted: 10/23/11

My daughter and I stayed here in August. Very comfortable and well maintained. Excellent location on a quiet residential street in the heart of Back Bay, yet only three blocks from shopping and restaurants. Management is attentive and takes good care of the apartment. I left a couple of books behind by mistake, and they found them and mailed them to me free of charge.

The location was on a nice quiet street for a family with 2 adults and 3 teenagers, very easy walk to shops and some good restaurants in Back Bay. A little too far from the North End though. The apartment was clean and well maintained. The bathroom unfortunately was disappointing as it had significant water damage and no fan. The only other issue was the pull out couch which was extremely uncomfortable - almost unusable. Otherwise a very enjoyable stay.

Owner response:Thank you for your feedback. We have ordered a new, high-quality mattress for the sleep sofa, which should be significantly more comfortable. There is some water damage on the living room ceiling, which we are in the process of repairing, but we didn’t see any damage in the bathroom. We’re so glad you enjoyed your stay overall and hope you’ll stay with us again the next time you visit Boston!

Location, location, location!

My wife and I stayed here in July 2011. The apartment is huge for a couple and would easily sleep plenty more. The kitchen has everything you need and is perfect for a quick breakfast or cooking a family dinner. The best thing about this apt is the location it is perfect. We walked everywhere Newbury St is 5 minutes on foot, the Prudential Centre 10 minutes and Boston Common only 20 minutes. If you don't feel like walking the T stop is not far. We would recommend the apt to our friends without hesitation and would absolutely stay again if we are back in Boston.

Great location

Date of Stay: 06/16/11 Review Submitted: 07/12/11

Apartment was in great Back Bay location while allowed our active family of 2 adults, 2 children to explore much of Boston on foot. Easy walk to Fenway, MIT, Harvard, Freedom Trail, even frequent visits to North End. Apartment was clean, well appointed, quiet and spacious. On the downsides, the bathroom was *very* small and the pull out bed was very uncomfortable and is in need of replacement.

Awesome place to stay for an active family! We walked everywhere (Newbury Street, Fenway Park, accross the Charles River, etc.) and the location was perfect, especially with the Magnolia trees in full Spring bloom. Having so much space compared to a similarly priced hotel room was also great.

We are a family of four and this apartment was a great first stop for us on a recent trip. The location was great with kids, with just a short walk to the underground and numerous other places. The apartment, and in particular the kitchen was well-equipped. Our only problem was the sofa-bed which we found really uncomfortable. Fortunately there is a blow-up bed as well which we used for the rest of the stay and was much better.

My daughter and I stayed at this charming apartment for three nights. It was wonderful to be able to walk to Boston Common, the Hynes Convention Center, and Newberry Street without having to constantly take a cab. The apartment is quaint and homey. We felt very comfortable and safe! Thanks so much for an excellent stay!

This elegant apartment is recommended not only for its location in Boston but for all of its facilities and high standard. Truly a home away from home. Easy access with only a few steps up to the front entry otherwise all level access.

Where you should stay in Boston!

Guest: Riley (El Paso, Texas)
Date of Stay: 10/11/10 Review Submitted: 10/25/10

This is an excellent apartment in a great location within easy walking distance to all you'll want to do in Boston and close to the subway, if needed. My wife, daughter and I stayed here for 8 nights and it worked great for us. All the kitchen supplies and linens were provided, the apartment is clean, attractively furnished and well maintained for an older building and is very charming with character. The bathroom is small as you'd expect in an older building but not much different from what you'd get in any older hotel in the Back Bay. The apartment overlooks Beacon street with bay windows and has a nice backyard patio on the lower level. There is a coin operated washer/dryer in the basement, as noted, but was not working during our stay. This was not a problem for us as there is a laundromat half a block away. Overall, we greatly enjoyed our stay here and will plan to return when we can. Highly recommended.

Great Location

Guest: Deb (Omaha, NE)
Date of Stay: 10/05/10 Review Submitted: 10/19/10

My 2 sisters and I rented this apartment for 6 nights and loved it. Clean and spacious. Uncluttered, yet had everything we might need. The directions for the TV were not updated, so we were unable to use it the first night. Also the washing machine wasn't working toward the end of our stay. In spite of these issues, I would definitely rent this property again. A short 1/2 block walk and one can catch a taxi. Shops and restaurants a few blocks away.

We loved it

This was our first stop after a long flight from Sydney. We arrived just before midnight, sore and tired. But on realising we were in the same street as "Cheers" and then after opening the door our spirits were immediately uplifted. This apartment was perfect. Our group of 2 adults and 2 young kids were very comfortable. There is little noise at night even though it's quite a bustling street. The location is superb: close to the action without being stuck in the middle of it. We had a car (required for our ongoing trip) and the closest parking was around the block for $30 a day so skip the car if you can. You will NOT need a car to visit Boston if you are based in this apartment. We fell in love with Boston and this apartment definitely played a big part in that. We would love to come back one day.

I took my four 20-something children for 3 days in Boston and this was a great condo for us. Plenty of room and absolutely super location. We took the T from Logan, walked to Fenway, walked to Boston Public Garden and restaurants and shopping. The property was immaculate and well-maintained. The instructions for entry, etc. were spot-on and we had no problems. Would recommend to a friend.

Our family of 5 stayed here for a long weekend and had plenty of space to move around. The place is well-furnished and well-kept and the kitchen had everything we needed. Its proximity to the "T" was perfect for all the sightseeing we did and my meeting at the Hynes Convention Center could not have been more convenient. We enjoyed morning walks along the Charles River and even found a great playground for the kids to burn off some energy. We truly enjoyed our stay in Back Bay and would definitely recommend this rental/ reserve this rental again. Thanks for a great stay!

This is a fantastic apartment in a great location. You can experience Boston as a Back Bay resident, within walking distance of great restaurants, cultural events, and public transportation. The apartment is quiet and extremely well maintained; B&B Associates are gracious, thoughtful hosts and a pleasure to work with.

Great Boston Apartment

Guest: DJ from MN (Minneapolis)
Date of Stay: 03/30/10 Review Submitted: 04/08/10

This is a great apartment in a wonderful location. It was perfect for our family of four. It was immaculate, well maintained, nicely decorated, and even the kitchen dishes were charming. My husband and I liked being close to the Charles River for early morning runs. My only suggestion is better directions for using the TV. There was a nice binder with information about the unit in the living room, but no info about the TV. Trying to figure it out took 10-15 min the first time we used it. I would choose this apartment again for a future visit to Boston.

Owner response:Thank you for your information about the TV. Instruction are suppose to be in the desk drawer. We will make sure we find them and place them at the TV. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and welcome you again. Pat & Wes.
