On a tidal inlet near Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary, National Seashore, and bicycle trail.
Screened porch, fireplace, amenities, a spectacular view. We have twelve and a half acres of both upland and wetland, which allows for a great variety of landscape, and considerable privacy. The upland includes the lawns and gardens that surround the house, some pine forest, and a field.
The wetland consists of a salt marsh suitable for walking and exploration. Waterways, part of Blackfish Creek, come into our property, so that it's possible to launch a small boat, such as a canoe or a kayak, just a few hundred feet from our house.
Our property is located in what used to be the old village of South Wellfleet. The parsonage and cemetery still remain, though the church has been removed. A few antique houses are scattered around on either side of us. Only one neighboring house is visible from our house in the summer.

We enjoyed the overall atmosphere of this period Cape-Cod house. In particular, the kitchen, dining room, and living room were favorites. Our young grandchildren could roam around the property freely, without our fearing for their safety. The views over the salt marsh at sunset were stunning. The house is well-situated for trips to both ocean beach and inland ponds. We should mention, however, that the exterior of the house is badly in need of refurbishing, and the bathrooms definitely need rehabbing (we used the outdoor shower).
Recommended for:Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+.
