Island Royale is an upscale beachfront condominium that was build in 2002. It is located directly on the beach in the heart of Gulf Shores on West Beach Boulevard. The owners stay in this non-smoking/no pets allowed condo often so you will feel right at home. It has an oversized bubble-shaped balcony, which can be accessed from both the living area and the master bedroom.
The balcony has one round table, four chairs, and a lounge chair with a side table. Black-out drapes cover both sets of windows and doors. You can sleep late or open the drapes and watch the sun rise. The condo has almost 1,100 square feet with nine-foot ceilings, seven-foot doors, crown molding, granite countertops in the kitchen, and corian countertops in the bathrooms.
The condo has been completely repainted, and 20-inch porcelain tile has been installed throughout the condo. It looks brand new. This condo is not in front of an elevator so noise is not a problem.
The living area includes a sofa that opens into a queen-size bed, a chair which matches the sofa, a brand-new Lazy Boy recliner, TV/VCR/DVD, and CD stereo sound system. Sit on the sofa and look at the Gulf of Mexico from this fifth-floor condo, or go on the balcony and watch the dolphins playing in the gulf.
The master bedroom has a king-size bed, a large dresser, TV/DVD in an armoire, nightstand, a private full-sized bathroom, and doors leading to the balcony with a view of the gulf. The guest bedroom has two twin beds, a large dresser, nightstand, TV/VCR, and a connecting full-sized bathroom, which also connects to the living area. Look out the window in the guest bedroom and see the lagoon on the north side. Both bedrooms have great closet and drawer space.
The dining area has a glass top table which seats six and a granite bar which seats three. The kitchen is complete with every large and small appliance you will need: side-by-side refrigerator with ice and water in the door, microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal, coffeepot, blender, toaster, mixer, and can opener.
A wide variety of pots, pans, dishes, glassware, and other utensils are available. The kitchen has a separate pantry with lots of shelf space and even a place to put the garbage can. Also, the condo has a separate laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer, ironing board, and iron. All linens and towels are provided.
DIRECTIONS: From Interstate 10, take highway 59 south. When you reach the beach, turn right on Highway 182 (West Beach Boulevard). Go approximately eight-tenths of a mile, and Island Royale is on the left on the beautiful white beaches of Gulf Shores, just before you get to the Pier 33 convenience store which is across the street.
The modern yellowish-tan building has a white diamond shape on the front and an upper level parking area. You may park anywhere that is not numbered. Some of the parking is covered. Carts are available in the elevator area for an easy move in. Have a great vacation!! Once you get here, you will not want to leave, but you will want to come back again and again and again.

My family of 4, which includes a 15-year-old son and a 12-year-old daughter, stayed at this unit July 23 - 30, 2011 and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The unit is nicely decorated and had everything we needed. The condo has a great pool and hot tub and is a very short walk to the beach. The description of the unit in the listing is accurate and appropriate as are the photos. We enjoyed having the twin beds for the kids. The view from this 5th floor unit is beautiful and at the perfect height---not too high and not too low. Noise was not an aissue. We used all the appliances and everything was fine. We cooked on the grills downstairs and all was well there. Ben, the maintenance man, was very nice and helpful if we had any needs. Weather and water were awesome! (not that we can control that but it was awesome) The only problem the whole week was heavy traffic and that is also out of our control. I would recommend working around traveling in and out with everyone else at the typical 3 pm check-in and 10 am check-out times on Saturdays. For food we enjoyed the Shrimp Basket, Bahama Bob's, Sea N Suds, and Pizza Hut. For entertainment, we enjoyed The Track, The Hangout and The Wharf. The beach and the balcony were the best for entertainment though. Would recommend this unit, and actually, we already have. Thanks for a good time. We will be back.
