"Tree House" in Barton Hills - 1 to 2 Mi. to Parks & Downtown

Year Purchased: 2005

Why the Owner Chose Barton Heights

Barton Hills is a serene close to downtown location that is full of trees and nestled up against Barton Creek greenbelt. The house is one block away from the Barton Creek and sits high above it. Everything is so green and peaceful. I love the architecture of this house because of the wood floors and high ceilings that are also covered with wood.

The Unique Benefits at this House

This house is wonderful with its multi levels and great lighting. It has four decks so it relates to the outdoors beautifully. The third floor deck is great for views. I have solar panels for electricity and for hot water. Dimmers are installed everywhere for great ambient lighting at night. I have operated an award winning hotel since 1985 and I bring that experience to this house.

Owner's Map of Barton Heights

I love ecology and I use earth friendly products to maintain the house. I founded and steward "Casa de Luz" which is an educational community center that is 1.4 miles from the house. We serve 3 macrobiotic meals a day to the public.

In 1985 I developed Habitat Suites Hotel, one of the first all suite hotels in the U.S. To this day we have received 15 awards for our ecological initiatives. I bring hotel professionalism to this Barton Hills house.

This tree house rental is professionally managed and is free of personal belongings.

Perfect Stay!

Guest: Peggy (Plymouth, MI)
Date of Stay: 11/08/11 Review Submitted: 11/14/11

We returned yesterday from our 6 night stay in the Austin Tree House-- and it couldn't have been more perfect! From the first contact, Eduardo was super-helpful, answering questions, clarifying information, and generally providing information to make our stay a success. The house was beautiful, very spacious, very peaceful. Exactly what we needed for our four families on a wedding week. There was space for quiet, and space for family closeness. We loved the "green" initiatives and appreciated the environmental impact details (bio-degradable soaps, cleansers, shampoos, etc.) We really felt like we were Eduardo's own family, and know that when we return to Austin we will return to his beautiful Tree House!

Owner response:My heart sings with joy. I'm speechless over Margaret's review. I am blessed. Thank you.

Superior Home at Great Location

Guest: PJ (Bay Village, OH)
Date of Stay: 10/19/11 Review Submitted: 10/31/11

My expectations were surpassed by the size, condition, cleanliness and location of this exceptional home. My group included 4 couples and 3 children for a 5 day visit to Austin. The house served as a perfect "home base" for us during our stay. It was very spacious and comfortable and included all of the ameneties that we wanted. The massage chair was a big hit with all. The home is not only located within walking distance to Barton Springs, a great park and recreational area, but a quick drive to downtown Austin.

Owner response:All the way through, planning with Patrick was so joyful. I'm so blessed!

Awesome Weekend

Thanks for being so gracious in making our weekend so very pleasurable. Your Barton Springs site is a definite location we'd love to return to. 'Tree House ' was exactly that. We stepped inside to a very spacious, clean, well stocked, tri-level home, filled with all the necessities for a wonderful time in which we enjoyed. We were pleased with all the balconies out several rooms which included an observation deck. This was my time using Homeaway and I must say, I'm expecting any future locations to stand up to the 'Tree House' and the owner, who in my eyes, didn't miss a beat. Thanks again.

Beautiful, Clean, Large Home! Great Location too!

House was even more remarkable than the pictures show! It is beautiful, clean, and very big! I especially enjoyed the massage chair in the master bedroom! The only issue I had was the broken heater. HOWEVER, Eduardo did everything in his power to fix the problem immediately. He sent maintenance people to the home at 10:00 on a Friday night to ensure the problem was solved. He, personally, also brought in space heaters and extra blankets. I would definitely recommend this home for anyone coming to Austin! It is ideal for a large family or a large group. If not this home, any other property owned by Eduardo! He is a very gracious host!

Wonderful!

Guest: Angela (San Antonio,Tx)
Date of Stay: 10/15/10 Review Submitted: 10/23/10

My family stayed at the Tree House to celebrated our son's wedding in Austin. There were 8-10 of us at any given time, including a baby, and we had more than enough room in this beautifully spacious home. The gathering spaces are large and very comfortable. The media room was a hit with the guys to watch sports. The sound system is great for music as well. Having a laundry room is always a bonus and the decks surrounding the home on every level just provided more places for us to be together. It was perfect! It took us a while to figure out the thermostat, and there were some non working lights in the master bath. Other than that we would absolutely stay there again. Staying in this home instead of a hotel, provided opportunities for our family to spend cherished moments together.

The Treehouse is a beautifully furnished, relaxing, extremely comfortable home with plenty of space for friends or family. The owner and manager are very receptive and concerned about making your stay enjoyable. I look forward to returning.

Very Nice

Guest: cgarcia0977 (Lubbock, TX )
Date of Stay: 04/22/10 Review Submitted: 04/27/10

The house was perfect for our needs. I do have a few comments, the microwave was a little too small. There was a very nice vehicle in the 2 car garage which we were expecting to be able to use for storing some items. We used the house during our wedding weekend, and needed to store some items in the garage along with a car, there being a car in the garage made it hard to do that. Since it was advertised as having a 2 car garage that was one reason we choose the house. Also light thru out the house needs to be checked. The can lights in the master bathroom over the sink area are not working, so to prepare and dress with that lighting was really horrible. Mostly when the bride used that bathroom as her dressing area the day of the wedding, we ended up having to go outside on the deck outside the room to apply makeup. The house was great with just those minor details, the garage and the lighting was probably the biggest concern.

"Tree House" in Austin

Guest: Austin City Family (Phoenixville, PA)
Date of Stay: 12/26/09 Review Submitted: 04/01/10

our family of 6 stayed comfortably at the "tree house" for Christmas 2009. the house was exactly as it was pictured and even better! the house was clean, comfortable and luxurious with amenities. Our son lives only 5 minutes away so was very convenient to get to downtown Austin for shopping and activities. We would gladly return to this beautiful house again. Right down the street (next to a CVS) is a colorful, funky Mexican restaurant that had great food. I would rate this house EXCELLENT!

Excellent weekend in Austin

Guest: Ryan L. (Washington, D.C.)
Date of Stay: 03/26/10 Review Submitted: 03/31/10

My guests and I recently stayed at this ideal residence located roughly ten minutes from downtown Austin. With multiple bedrooms, bathrooms, full kitchen & grill, as well as a laundry room--the house suited our needs perfectly. It is situated in a beautiful neighborhood with many amenities. The most stunning feature are the multiple decks wrapping around the property. From the third floor deck, you can see across to the Barton Creek river/valleys. I would highly recommend this house for an adult crowd willing to rent/own transportation to explore downtown Austin and the surrounding area. If you are relying on taxi service-simply call a cab and expect a $10-$15 fare into Austin. Additionally, the house has a two car garage for storing biking equipment or valuables if you are planning a long stay. You can easily fit large groups-simply inquire with owner who was happy to accomodate our party.
