As you travel down the dirt 2 track you don’t believe there is anything worth going to in the middle of this wilderness. But as you get glimpses of the occasional cottages you understand the pull of this unique area. We have fixed up an old Boy Scout Lodge located within 30' of the West Branch of the Pere Marquette River. You will not find the typical vacation amenities of crowded beaches, long lines, and theme parks nearby. The wooded 10 acres is located next to adjacent National Forest that is used for Hunting- deer, grouse and woodcock; fishing, mushroom hunting, 4 wheeling, hiking, camping and much more. Nearby is a canoe livery for renting canoes, rafts and kayaks for navigating the Scenic River stretch. 1 mile away is the famous PM Lodge where you can get professional fly fishing guides and all currant patterns for finessing the trout from the PM. In season you will be right on top of the spawning salmon and steelhead as they complete their lifecycle in this pristine river. There is a grocery store within a mile, and 5 miles is the town of Baldwin. For fishing the great lakes, Ludington is only a 45 min drive to the beach and charter boat rentals. This is a great place for rest and solitude and a base for the great outdoors that is literally the front and back yard.

- A converted Boy Scout Lodge on 10 acres of bliss located 1 mile upstream from the "Flies Only, catch and Release", national scenic 7 mile stretch of the Pere Marquet River. All of the same beauty, but without the pressure of the river form canoes, kayaks, and fisherman that you see downstream. Spawning salmon and steelhead are seen in season from the porch window. Deer migrate through the front yard. Wildlife abounds in the adjacent National forest. If you don't get a peaceful night of sleep here, you wont get it anywhere.
Rate Details (In US Dollars)
In an effort to prevent competition the members of the PM River Zoning Board has
denied my request to rent this location. Therefore I cannot charge you should
you choose to stay here. I am not allowed to rent this location for short term
rentals based on the fact I have contiguous property outside the district that is
only 185 miles away and easily driveable in 3-4 hours. They have also determined
that its rental use is a detriment to public health, saftey and welfare.
