What's it like staying on a houseboat? The boat is in a protected part of the marina, but there is some occasional movement during the day when boats pass by. It is usually very calm during the night, although some guests find a bit of gentle swaying is relaxing and can lead to a very restful sleep.

Why the Owner Chose Philadelphia
I grew tired of boring hotel rooms while traveling, and realized that the funkiest parts of town were often right at the waterfront. I combined my love for houseboating with my desire to offer a fun alternative to hotel stays.
The Unique Benefits at this House Boat
Everything you will need for your stay is provided. All towels, linens, blankets, etc... are all waiting for your arrival. The kitchen comes complete with all the pots and pans, plates and cutlery you will need, while a Keurig coffee maker make that morning cup of coffee while you look out over the harbour that much more enjoyable.
Owner's Map of Philadelphia
For about 10 years I lived aboard a restored houseboat in Boston Harbor. I really fell in love with the lifestyle. Having a cup of coffee on the front porch in the morning, grilling up some steaks on the roofdeck in the evening, and being rocked to sleep by the waves at night was a great way to live!
I started with one boat in Boston, and each year have been adding boats to the fleet. This is our first year outside of Boston, and we are starting here in Philadelphia.

Guest: Anna 5 (Baltimore, MD) Date of Stay: November 10, 2009 Review Submitted: November 10, 2009 We had a wonderful stay. The location is ideal with only a short walk to historic Market Street and easy access to I95. The double bed got rave reviews for comfort. It was a little snug with 6 people and a dog, but we expected that. There is some rocking (also expected), but not enough to be bothersome unless you're really sensitive. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed starting our day with a big breakfast before venturing out for sightseeing. Also, everyone we encountered on the docks were very friendly and welcoming. Everything we could ask for was included -- coffee, tea, condiments. Ryan couldn't have been more accommodating. Would recommend this to anyone, and we hope to try out the other houseboat locations!!!

Very fun stay. Great location especially when the ball park across the river had fireworks! Houseboat had everything we needed although we did forget about the motion. I can still feel the boat rocking!
Owner response:Thanks Tammy! We are moving the boat in a couple weeks to a much more protected part of the marina so it should cut down on the motion. Glad you enjoyed your stay!

Thank you for your interest in our houseboat in Philadelphia. Our listing and boat are brand new to this city so we haven't had the chance for guests to comment on them yet. However, we have boat loads (pun fully intended!) of comments from our guests that have stayed with us up in Boston. Staying on the houseboat is a truly unique experience, but don't just take my word for it, check out the other comments! Our other listings are: #65033, #175876, #199238
