We very much enjoyed staying at the quaint home in down town Sand Point. Super easy walking distance to everything. The caretaker was very helpful about setting us up with some older funky bikes to cruise the town. The home is older but everything was clean and tidy. It is more than fully furnished and nothing was lacking in our stay. We felt it was a good price and relaxing like being at grandma's. If there was any negative point at all it was the city crosswalk warning beeper about 100 feet away. You only heard it when it was night with no traffic and we slept with the windows open for the fresh air. The mild beeping was something that I had to get used to. It sounded like a occasional beep from a microwave oven. I would most happily stay there again. I talked to the next door neighbors and they were very nice and helpful with local tips. The Pizza place on 2nd street was awesome. We rented a pontoon boat for a day on the lake..teens loved it. Silverwood was also a big hit.

If you like a clean, well cared for home that is just a few blocks from main street Kotschevar House is the place. The owner is through and honest. Bill, Casper, Wyoming

A towncenter house with plenty of character

We loved the layout of this house, with two adjoining bedrooms upstairs, and a queen bedroom and cute bunk room downstairs. The dining table and breakfast bar were our favorite 'hangout' place. The kitchen was well equipped with plenty of storage. We were a party of two families (4 adults/3 kids), and a dog. and found there was plenty of room to spread out. The beds were super comfy! The price was very reasonable, and we would definitely recommend this rental to friends.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your vacation home. The accommodations suited our party of 9 nicely. We had quick access to the downtown and it is not too far from the mountain. We would recommend this property to others.

We came to Idaho for the first time to attend my nephew's wedding. The house was a central meeting place for everybody. Kitchen/eating area is very welcoming. All beds are extremely comfortable. The host was very accomodating.

Family Reunion in Sandpoint

Guest: Mary (Portland, OR)

We recently all go together in Sandpoint for a family reunion and this house was wonderful. We especially liked the kitchen and dining room area. A big highlight was the free wifi and the elevated table which was used to set up everyone's computers rather than to eat on. Modern technology even on vacation!!! The only downfall was one shower for all 13 of us but that sounds like it is changing with some remodeling and when the city of Sandpoint finally finishes the overpass to bypass traffic (that now goes right by the house) it will be ideal.

Convenient and Comfortable

We had 3 couples and 2 young children. The house was comfortable for us - but be prepared: there is only 1 shower. Also, the upstairs bedrooms were more of a loft + bedroom. One room was really an open area that had to be traversed to get to the second room. The stairs up were quite steep and not good for the elderly or very young! It was nice that everything was in walking distance. We could walk to the grocery store for all our needs, and also walked to the lake and around town. There was a lot of street noise, but that should be minimized once the highway bypass is complete.

Owner response:Knowing nothing can ever be perfect, still we strive toward that end at Kotschevar House. It is true there's one shower, but there is a jacuzzi tub - we opted for that instead of the 2nd shower. However, this is the first time anyone has mentioned it. Future plans include an additional shower - all in good time; this is Kotschevar House's first year of operation and I'm sure we'll get the hang of it. I wasn't aware there was an elderly person in this group, but at 73 I have had no problem with those stairs and my uncles (all in their 90's, one even 98) used them with little difficulty. The people who stayed some months ago were all in their 80's & 90's and they wrote us a terrific review, never mentioning a problem to us with the stairs. I do think small or young children have a problem with all stairs, so it stands to reason they might find these difficult. I really appreciate the guests who take their time to write us a review. Thanks to all who have done so. The Management

"Fun in Sandpoint" We all enjoyed our stay. Lots of room, full kitchen, and jacuzzi tub off master bedroom. Close to downtown, restaurants and shopping. Not far from Sweitzer resort (you can see it from the front porch). Will probably stay here again during summer, so we can go to Silverwood water/amusement park. The on site manager was cool, too, telling us where to go, what to see. (The manager said there was four feet by Christmas last season.)

"Comfort, convienience" Talk about sweet, cozy and user friendly, that is the Kotschevar House. I have styed there 3 times in the past 3 years and plan to return this year as well. I love the house itself, a restoration of a time gone by, but with modern convienences! The kitchen is the best I have ever come across in a vacation rental. The living room can boast a charming mural. Nice baths and good beds. Walking to nearby stores and resturants is easy and I reccomend it.

"Charming town, great location" This home has it all, convenient location, updated interior and easy access. It's within walking distance of downtown, the lake, restaurants, marina, shopping and the park for the Farmer's Market. Five of us shared the multiple bedrooms and baths with ample space for all. The upgraded kitchen has a glass brick wall that floods the counter with natural light; what an innovative concept. The mural in the living room adds a sense of appreciation for the surrounding mountains, water and trees. Highly recommended!!

Charm, Comfort & Convenience! Loved it!" My girlfriends and I get together every couple of years and like to try new places to stay. This year we decided to stay in the newly remodeled Kotschevar House! We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived to find that the house had a very comfy cozy atmosphere. The house was very clean and was just as the owner told us it would be. I was especially impressed with the location of this home because it is literally in the mainstream of the quaint town of Sandpoint. We were able to walk to everything we wanted to do. There was everything that one might need if we wanted to cook a meal(which we did not as we ate at one of the many great restaurants that were close by)in the fully stocked bright kitchen. The whirl bath in the master was a delight to have. The mural on the living room wall was beautiful. The layout was perfect for us 4 girls. The owner was very helpful in answering our questions and very quick to return our security deposit when we returned back home after our trip was over. The owner has managed to make Kotschevar House feel like you are staying at a friends house for the weekend and not a rental! I travel a lot and am not too easily impressed with most places and would have to say that this was not your average rental house. It was very reasonably priced and exceeded my expectations. I hope to make it back to Sandpoint again this summer and if I do I will surely rent Kotschevar House again.

Best Value and Convenience" My family, friends and I rented this house for a holiday ski trip. It was our first trip to Sandpoint, ID and to the local ski resort. After an extensive search for accomodations, I found Kotschevar House to be the best value I could find, particularly on such short notice and needing sleeping arrangements for eight. We could not have been more pleased, as it's a four bedroom, with two living areas and a huge kitchen/ dining area. It's a full kitchen and fully equipped, and we saved a lot of money having the ability to prepare our own meals. It has been beautifully re-modeled and updated. Conveniently located a brief 30 minute drive up the mountain to the ski resort, it was fantastic to be able to return from a long day of skiing and be able to soak my weary, aging muscles in the brand-new whirlpool tub, large enough for two, in the master bedroom! The amount of money we saved on lodging and meals literally paid for the skiing, and we had the privacy and convenience of a private home! They even have a small apartment behind the house for someone needing additional sleeping arrangements of lodging! We were ecstatic about our stay and vacation, and will return soon, possibly for Spring Break if it's available.
