I have spent two wonderful months (2010 and 2012) in this great condo and can't say enough good things about it. The unit is accurately described, clean, and well maintained It has a perfect central location a 5 minute walk to the beach and Kapiolani Park and great views, especially of Diamond Head. Dozens of great restaurants and the shops on Kuhio and Kalakaua are within an easy walk. The condo is tastefully decorated with all the comforts of home, including parking. The owner is a delight to deal with and very helpful in answering questions. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this condo to family or friends. I am already planning a repeat visit!
Owner response:Aloha Dr......thank you aain. You are such a great guest. I look forward to your return vist for the tird time around. Aloha. Judy

My husband, granddaughter and I spent a week at this condo in early November. The condo was charming and provided everything we needed for our first stay right in Waikiki (we usually stay out of town). The kitchen was well stocked, there were plenty of towels and linens and even some lotions and a few condiments. We had a view of the ocean from a distance and Diamond Head was in view from the balcony. We learned the first night that it is necessary to keep the windows closed and use the air conditioning unit because as in any big city the outside noise is extreme, but with the windows closed was not bad at all. The condo had a sofa bed for our granddaughter, but it was quite uncomfortable as it slanted downward and could use a foam topper for added comfort. We loved that the location was within a couple of blocks to the beach (beach chairs, towels, raft included) and close to all the restaurants and shopping you could wish for. We especially like Tiki's Grill and Bar right across from Waikiki beach. There is good snorkeling, too, a five minute walk. The price is right, definitely a good deal. While it is not luxurious, it does have the convenience of a great location close to everything and everything you need to prepare your own meals and the big bonus, free parking. We almost wished that we hadn't bothered renting a car, though we do like to make day trips around the island to all the great places, most of which are within an hour drive...North Shore, Kailua and Lanakai (try Buzz's!), Waimanalo, Diamond Head and all the other fabulous places to visit!
Owner response:Alooha Cheryl. Thank you for coming to my Waikiki Sunset... It was a plsure having you folks stay ..please come back. Aloha.Judy

Our family stayed at Judy's Waikiki Condo for a week in August and found it the perfect place for adults and children. We found the Condo just as advertised-- Clean, Quiet and Convenient. An added bonus was the free parking, as well as the beach towels, chairs, mats and boogie boards. It is an easy walk to the beach, zoo and shopping and when in the condo we enjoyed the views of the beach and Diamond Head. It was a special surprise to find a well stocked kitchen (salt.pepper, cooking oil and even some tea and coffee) to get us started on meal preparations. We had a 7 year old grandson with us so were very happy to be able to prepare meals in the fully equipped kitchen. Daily we used the free WiFi that was available on the 6th floor of the building. That was a great help as one of our family still had to be connected with her place of work. Thank you Judy for greeting us at the Condo when we arrived. This was our first experience using VRBO, and thanks to Judy we will try it again. We would also book the same condo if we return to Waikiki..Mahalo

This rental was perfect! Owner was just full of Aloha & the place was exactly as described! We really enjoyed sitting on the lanai & watching the surfers and boats go by. Beautiful views of the ocean & Diamond Head. Building was very quiet & being up on a high floor really helped keep the street noise down. Pool was clean & BBQ's were cleaned out daily. Wifi worked well on the 6th floor. We would definitely stay here again. Saved some money by being able to cook our own meals in the well stocked kitchen. Mahalo Judy!
Owner response:Aloha Mammoth Lakes. Come back soon. It was a pleasure having you as my guests...With Aloha. Judy

We had an absolutely wonderful stay. Everything we needed was ready at hand. We prepared several meals during our stay, and found everything we needed for preparation. The views were not as we had hoped, but we enjoyed what we could see. Fortunately, at the time of year we were there, we had a perfect view of the Sunset each evening. We also watched the surfers, wind surfers and the many colorful sailboats. The lobby staff was very friendly and helpful with directions and suggestions. Judy was easy to work with and always was just a phone call away. The rental was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Definitely high on our list of suggested places to stay. We did have a car, and found the one way streets a bit difficult to navigate. I had a GPS which made our travel to all the sights far easier and is strongly suggested. Part of my stay was for business, so my family utilized the very convenient public transportation in the area to visit some of the sights too far to walk to. Casual strolls along Waikiki Beach in the evenings were relaxing and care free. The many street performers made the evenings that much more enjoyable. We enjoy snorkeling when and where we can. Hanauma Bay is close and highly recommended if you snorkel. The water was crystal clear, and was calm. We spent a very short 2.5 hours underwater, and wish we could have spent more time there. One of my personal favorite fish, the Humuhumunukunukuapua'a, were numerous and beautiful. A very friendly Moray Eel brushed up against my wife's leg giving us a anxious moment. Cool nerves prevailed though and the eel moved on without any trouble. The many corals and urchins kept us well entertained.

We were satisfied with our two week stay at Judy's condo. It had a refrigerator, electric stove with oven, microwave, coffee-maker, and air conditioning. No dishwasher. The kitchen/cooking supplies were complete. We only had to purchase measuring spoons. The washer and dryer were $1.50 per load each (bring lots of quarters and we bought our own detergent). The living room sofa turned into a queen-size bed. The condo included a flat-screen TV and a TV in the bedroom, both with basic cable. The beach and the pier were a five minute walk (or less) away. Leonard's Bakery, the Rainbow Drive-In, and Safeway were two miles or less away (the Kapahulu Strip). Plenty of sheets and towels, but we did our own washing (which was often). The view was wonderful. We will definitely stay here again and recommend the unit to family and friends. Thank you Judy!

My husband and I stayed at Judy's condo from May 18 to May 25. Judy was most helpful in making the arrangements to rent and stay. She always got back to us really quickly when we had questions and such. She was there to meet us at the condo, which was a big help. The condo is just like the pictures displayed on the site. It is well supplied for a relaxing and easy time in Waikiki and was very clean, neat and tidy. She has thought of almost everything a person would need to live there. She even had items for sitting at the beach such as towels, mats and chairs. There was a nice view. We have stayed at Waikiki Sunset before and it is our first choice to stay. Everything worked in the condo, the A/C was great. We didn't have to use the parking, but that only makes this condo a better place to stay if you have a car. The lobby staff was nice and helpful, and there are security guards in the lobby that keep watch so you feel safe. We felt comfortable all during our stay at Judy's condo. We are going back again someday to Judy's condo.
Owner response:Mahalo for your wonderful comments. I offer a nice, clean comfortable condo, and it is priced right for everyone.Aloha. Judy

Aloha! My name is Stan and I just spent 10 nights in Judy's apartment last month. I go to Honolulu twice a year and for the past 7 years or so I have stayed at the Sunset. I like the separate bedroom, bathroom access without going through the bedroom, the full kitchen, the large lanai, the location - well, I like the Sunset. I discovered VRBO about four years ago and while I saw Judy's ad I never tried her place out - it sounded too good to be true. But this past vacation we had to plan it on short notice and the complex itself had no openings so I gave her a shot. I figured if it wasn't all that, I just wouldn't rent her unit again. Well, it was all that! A nice unit, 20th floor, ocean view - you do realize that Ocean View means views of the ocean, not a view of waves crashing on the beach, right? Killer view of Diamond Head from the lanai. The photos on her VRBO site are toatlly accurate. The air conditioning works great, all you could need for kitchen ware is there (full size kitchen appliances too) and she tells me she has put in a new tv since we were there. Gotta like that. Oh, and a parking space is included! You gotta love that. I have tentative plans to return in April and have talked it up so much at work that one person has already made a reservation for next year and another is planning on it after she has her baby in November. Judy does say there is no internet access in the unit, only at the 6th floor computer room but I had no problem finding a connection on my laptop. The laundry is located at the end of the hall on every floor and we had no problem whenever we wanted to do clothes. I hope this helps you make a decision as to whether you want to stay at her unit.
