Hale Wailele (Waterfall House) sits on 40 acres and is surrounded by lush Hawaiian flora & fauna. Our house is a rustic, craftsman style home up high in the Koolau mountain range. It is mostly one story, with a living room, dining room, den, kitchen, breakfast nook, laundry room, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a large sleeping loft (second floor). The front lanai has a spectacular view of the ocean and an island called "Chinaman's Hat".
The kitchen nook, living room and master bedroom all have views of the Koolau Mountain Range and its waterfalls. There are waterfalls bursting from the mountain 100 days a year. The house is surrounded by lanais on two sides where you will relax on the hikea, enjoy ocean views and listen to the many species of birds in the surrounding trees. There is a screened-in bungalow with a king-size bed, pool table, bar, dining table and bathroom. The bungalow has ocean and mountain views and is filled with the sounds of birds and wind in the trees.
Hale Wailele is 15 minutes from the local white sand beach and 30 minutes from Kailua Beach Park which was rated one of the top 10 beaches in the world for 10 years by National Geographic. Boogie boards, a kayak, beach chairs, and beach towels are available and there is an outdoor shower for cleaning up after a day at the beach. Wireless high speed DSL access is available as well as a printer/copier/fax. Weekly house cleaning and minivan included.
Our quiet neighborhood is on the east side of Kaneohe. Kaneohe is the main town on the windward side of the island of Oahu. Every amenity is available in this town. The town of Kailua, famous for its beach park, wind surfing and kayaking is a short drive from Kaneohe. We are 30 minutes to an hour from anywhere on the island. The North Shore and the town of Haleiwa, for example, is 45 minutes away.
If you have children, Sealife Park is a 40 minute drive from the house (near Hanauma Bay) and the Honolulu aquarium and zoo are about 40 minutes away. For those kids at heart, wind surfers and kayaks are easily rented at Kailua Beach Park. Wind surfing & kite boarding lessons are also available there. One can kayak to the nearby Mokulea Islands. World class surfing can be seen at the north shore & beginners can enjoy surfing lessons at Waikiki beach.
