Designed and built by Dallas based architect George Woo, who formally worked with acclaimed architect I.M. PEI, Ina Tan Kanab has won numerous awards for its design and has been published in House and Garden and Architectural Record. Ina Tan Kanab is one of the original and best known houses in Akumal.
The kitchen area is open plan with a big dining table which easily seats 8 people. 3 steps down take you to the ample living area with loads of comfortable sofas and spectacular ocean view. For your convenience the living room has a TV and stereo system with Sky TV. A staircase from the living area leads up to the Master Bedroom.
The Master bedroom has an incredible 180 degree ocean view with a King Bed and also a day bed that, at just under 6 ft long, is ideal for a small child. There is an en suite bathroom with shower and double sinks and also a safety box inside a locking closet to keep valuables safe.
Going outside, you gain access to the three additional bedrooms. The second bedroom is located across the terrace with its own separate entrance. It boasts 2 double beds, an en suite bathroom with shower, patio doors leading to its own terrace area, and fabulous views of the ocean across the private infinity pool.
Bedroom number three is accessed by the exterior stairs an is located on the southern wing of the upper level. Again, this bedroom has wonderful ocean views from its own private terrace, 2 double beds, and en suite bathroom with shower, and also tropical garden views out the back.
The fourth bedroom, also accessed by the exterior stairs, is located in the north wing of the upper level and is perfect for children or separate adults with its 2 single beds, ocean view terrace, and en suite bathroom with shower. Lovely garden views from the back of this bedroom also.
Outside there is of course the infinity pool with a sloping bottom, and terrace with outdoor shower and plenty of sun loungers and chairs on the ocean side. The garden side of the house has a fabulous sandy area where you can swing in a hammock amongst the tropical plants while waiting for dinner to grill on the BBQ. There is also a basketball hoop for guest use. In addition to all of this there is a great rooftop terrace for exceptional sunbathing, sunrises, sunsets, or stargazing. If you love interesting architecture and incredible ocean views, Ina Tan Kanab is the perfect vacation choice for you!
