Location: Pos Chiquito, Aruba, Caribbean (At Mangel Halto Beach, 10 Minutes S of Airport.)

Accommodations:  Guest Cottage, Studio, 1 Bath (Sleeps 2)

We are located on the gentle leeward west coast of Aruba at Mangel Halto, overlooking the Spanish Lagoon where the surf quietly surges upon the protective reef.

Windsong Villa & Guest Cottage is located 15 minutes from both Oranjestad and San Nicolaas. It is close to splendid restaurants and walking distance to grocery stores. Bus service is a 10 minute walk from the Villa. Car rental is available locally.

Windsong Guest cottage is in the garden behind the villa, few feet from the shore and 50 meters to a sandy beach and a safe swimming area. It is a choice site for snorkeling, scuba diving and kayaking.

The air-conditioned guest cottage accommodates 2 people on a king size bed that can become twin beds. The cottage has a well equipped European kitchen with stovetop, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender and clothes washing machine. cable TV 28” flat screen with a built in DVD, Ceiling fan, fully tiled large washroom with shower.

We are Canadians residing in Central Ontario and Aruba. Our first visit to Aruba was a scuba diving holiday in January 2006. We fell in love with Aruba and its people then and in April 2006 purchased our home on Spaanslagoen Weg. Since then our house and guest cottage have been completely renovated, the pool installed and pavers and garden put in. We've enjoyed several months living at Windsong Villa. Many weeks we have enjoyed the comfort and quietness of the guest cottage when the Villa has been rented to others. We love staying in the cottage.

We have done shore dives at Mangel Halto in front of our house and at the Hole in the Wall dive site close by. Snorkeling and swimming are great too and just out the door!

Michael is a PADI certified Open Water Scuba Diving Instructor, # 211856. While in Aruba learn to dive with Mike Brown. Lessons can begin in the pool or in the sea across the road. You can even start the knowledge development portion by email. The rates are reasonable and competitive. If you are already a Scuba Diver and want to upgrade your qualifications to Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver, or Dive master. Then ask Mike. Children can learn to become Bubble makers in the pool. A 8 yr old or older can become a Junior Open Water Diver. There are a lot of options for the whole family, including swim lessons for adults and learning to safely and effectively snorkel. Contact Mike Brown.

We have a Suzuki Grand Vitari 2003 vehicle that may be available to renters for use at $25.00 per day.

  • Oceanfront: Windsong Villa is right on the shore. As soon as Guest Cottage guests go out of their gate they have a wonderful view of the Caribbean and Spanish lagoon. Windsong Guest cottage is just steps to an excellent swimming and snorkeling area.

  • Dear Michael and Lois, our stay was perfect and exactly the break we needed. The private pool and jacuzzi were outstanding and crossing the street to be at the No. 1 snorkel spot of the entire island was priceless. We also enjoyed the little white sandy beach area a few yards further and put our chairs IN the turcoise-blue water. We would recommend Windsong anytime as a beautiful getaway and the value was very good. Juan is outstanding, he even mailed my postcards to Europe and brought us ripe Mangos!   • We stayed in the the Windsong Cottage from August 8-15th 2009. It was an absolute wonderful stay and I highly recommend it to anybody. Property was exactly like the pictures, with a wonderful pool and palapa area. The property owners Mike and Lois have literally thought of everything and the cottage came with everything we could think of including a cooler to use. The BEST snorkeling on the island is directly across the street and the cottage is very centrally located from everything on the island, 10 minutes from the airport, 15 tops from Oragestad. It was perfect for us as we like a bit more local flavor when we travel. Owners were incredibly professional and easy to deal with. We were also picked up and dropped off at the airport, which was a very nice touch. The cottage was the perfect size for us as a couple, but we are pretty light travellers. We did have the main Villa for one night before we left, it was very well appointed, tastefully decorated, and a great place if you want or need the extra space. All in all, I would stay here again in a heartbeat and highly recommend the property to anybody.

  • My stay at the Wingsong cottage was peaceful and the view was fantastic. Very clean and well maintained. Juan, (property manager) was so kind and made an extra effort to help out, if needed.   • The Windsong Villa, the owners, the property manager (Juan) were ALL fabulous! As far as I'm concerned there is no other place to stay on Aruba. I was in the guess cottage that was perfect for me to join the two families I was travelling with. It is HUGE, so clean, fully-equipped, beautiful, comfortable--it truly is a "Home Away From Home." Additionally, Juan gave extraordinary advice, service, and aid anytime we asked. I felt like I met up with family upon my arrival and departure! Looking to get away from the touristy crowds and commercialism? Look no further--stay at Windsong!

  • I can't begin to tell you the blessing of finding this cottage. We stayed in the Windsong guest cottage and it was the best vacation we have had in a very long time. The cottage is perfect for 2 people and it has everything you could possibly need. And the info on places to eat and good snorkeling places were absolutely the best. Juan, their caretaker was also very helpful and he got us a great car to rent and we didn't have to worry about getting the shuttle to the car rental places and he dropped us back off at the airport. We will most definately be going back to the Windsong cottage and would recommend it to anyone. The beach is great and in the backyard is a private pool and jacuzzi. The only people who have access to the pool is whomever is in the house and cottage. Thank you Mike and Lois for sharing your wonderful home.

  • My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed a 16 night stay at Windsong Guest Cottage. We had everything we needed for a relaxing and refreshing vacation. We loved the pool just outside our cottage door and snorkelling across the road at Mangel Halto Beach. While in Aruba we decided to travel about by bus rather than renting a car. This worked very well to get downtown or to the hotel area. You do need to be prepared to wait for 20 to 30 minutes for connections. Written schedules are hard to find! The bus drivers and the Aruban people were very helpful in making sure we got on the correct bus and off at the right stop. The return fare to downtown was $4.60 US

  • We had a wonderful vacation in a perfect place!!! Michael & Lois have a beautiful place for a quiet getaway. The Cottage was perfect for us-We had everything we needed.   • My wife had I have come twice to Aruba in last 4 years and both times were spent at windsong in the beautiful guest cottage. The room is new, clean, with fully functioning appliances. Walking out of the cottage you enter a lush green back yard with a swimming pool. Across the street the ocean is awaiting. The atmosphere at Windsong is friedly, relaxing and very very peaceful. We will definitely return in the future for a season of rest at windsong.

    We had a lovely time at Windsong. We rented the guest cottage for the Holidays. Everything was great from the first connection with the owner, to the $$ arrangements, to the connection with the manager and to the place! It is a great alternative to busy/touristy resorts. The cottage is perfect for 2 adults: everything you need is provided, place is clean, very nice backyard. We also rented a car through the manager: cheap and reliable. The cottage is right across the street from Mangel Halto: a beautiful, quiet ocean...blue, blue and bluer! The sunsets are amazing! If you are looking for a quiet, clean and great location place, Windsong is your place!
