Great Wedding Location

Guest: Carey M (Alaska)
Date of Stay: 03/14/12 Review Submitted: 04/15/12

My husband (Russ M) already left a review, but I just wanted to add to it. When I chose this house I didn't realize they type of service I would be getting. It was above and beyond what I would have expected. Charlie and Gena were able to answer questions quickly and Charlie attended to every need that we had. Every guest commented on what a great property it was and how lovely the houses were. As the bride I needed my quiet time--between the 13 people staying in the houses and friends and family coming and going it was amazing how well I was able to hide out! The houses have so many great spaces for entertaining it was almost hard to choose. I highly recommend this property for those that are looking to impress company or just relax and have peace and quiet. Thank you so much Charlie for making my wedding not only memorable for me--but very memorable for my guests.

Perfect

Date of Stay: 03/14/12 Review Submitted: 04/09/12

My wife and I decided to get married in Vegas as it was an idea gathering place for extended family in the middle of March. We needed a location that had room for both the ceremony and reception, this place was perfect! There was plenty of sleeping space to allow us to provide beds for our immediate family and some of the bridal party. It was a little too early in the year to use the pool but the fountain and lighting provided a nice ambiance both during the day and at night. Charlie was amazing and promptly had solutions to any problems and requests that we had. Gina assisted us as our day of coordinator and helped the day go off perfectly (with the exception of one vendor not showing up on time but that was just the vendor being unprofessional)! The house offers lots of little extras from the pool and hot tubs to putting green Charlie recently installed. I often found my friends enjoying a game of pool when I needed them. There is enough room for either an inside or outdoors ceremony and the back yard of the smaller house was enough room for us to have a tented reception with seating for 70, a tented dance floor, and a standing bar table area. The tiki hut worked perfectly for our bar. Charlie quickly answered questions we had about TV, heating/cooling, and lighting needs. Even went out and got us a ladder so we could hang lights in the tents, above and beyond what I would have expected. I look forward to returning and renting the house or houses again, this time with no need for planning a wedding so we can kick back and enjoy all there is to enjoy. ps the master bedroom shower is great! will try to replicate it when I remodel

very misleading

Date of Stay: 03/05/12 Review Submitted: 03/27/12

I stayed here for a wedding and the biggest house is pretty dated. All the carpet needs to be replaced. The smaller house on the property is a lot nicer and updated. The add for this place also says every room has a TV. They don't. We stayed in a room with just a king bed, no tv. The sheets wouldn't stay on at all during the night. It was very annoying to be sleeping just on a mattress very night because the fitted sheet won't stay on. The TV's in the larger house are all the old style box TVs. The add also says it has a 60inch TV in the main family room. Its reception barely comes in and it's a pretty old style. The add also says it has a heated pool, it was not. In my opinion the add for this property is very misleading. I thought the smaller house of the two was a nice property but the larger one needs a lot of work and updating.

Owner response:Surprising that the pea under their mattress really made that much of an impact. The pool is actually heated with a large solar unit which thanks to their "master pool technicians" who had played with valves and pumps causing leaks and fried/melted equipment rendered it unusable for their stay. (cost $245 to fix) Televisions, if they had been able to operate a remote properly work great although we did had one TV broken which had been knocked off its stand so we have since replaced. Sheets? That is a new one and will certainly ascertain what his magic sheets where doing since we have never heard that one before. We have all cotton 400 plus thread count sheets which maybe were not up to their standards. Lastly our only rug more than 2 years old is a 1920's $12k antique oriental which certainly does not need replacing. Someone had spilled a whole glass of wine in one room which required us to have carpets again shampooed and maybe they just didn't like the color of wine left for all to enjoy. All other carpets are less than 2 years old and I have them shampooed every other month. These folks had overloaded our estate by about 7 peeps who showed up with 2 full RV's in addition to the full houses all using facilities. They brought children who remained loosely supervised at best. The children as much as we enjoy them were left to destroy and damage what they could including brand new putters (literally two days old) for our new putting green which they did their best to bury in dirt and rocks. Funny that whenever we ask some folks to pay for simple damage (instead of holding funds)the disrespectful will always leave a nasty review. Aside from whomever this unhappy person is the young couple who got married were actually quite nice and very happy with their stay and celebration. We have even a nice video of the bride and groom thanking us and vowing to return to stay with us again. Go figure.

We truly enjoyed our 7-day/Très agréable 7 jours

Guest: Mario B.
Date of Stay: 03/02/12 Review Submitted: 04/11/12

We truly enjoyed our 7-day stay at this well maintained house. We had everything we needed and the owner provided us with a five-star service. He sent us back our iPad cables at his own expense as soon as we told him we forgot them on site during our stay. Mario , Québec , Canada

~My Dream Wedding~

We picked this house to get married in because we loved the outside of the house so much. The day we got married it was cold and a little windy, but we still went forward with our plans of having an outdoor wedding. We had the reception indoors, and everything worked out perfect. Everyone complimented how nice everything turned out. The house was very clean and the outside was beautifully manicured. Charlie is a great host, and was always there to answer any questions. I would without a doubt recommend this property to anyone, actually I already have a friend that has asked me about it for her aunt's wedding. Thank you so much, Charlie and Gena for letting us create "our dream wedding" ~The Ryders~

Wonderful Wedding Venue

Guest: Carson & Donna (Canada)
Date of Stay: 11/10/11 Review Submitted: 11/16/11

We rented the property for a family Wedding. The property was perfect for our wedding of 45 guests. Charlie made sure we had everything we needed and assisted with the wedding set up and take down. Gena was exceptional with helping with the wedding, spending the entire day making sure everything went smooth. Thank you to both of them. The property is a quick ride to the strip and all major stores. We would recommend this property.

Wonderful Property!

Our loved staying here a few weeks ago. The house is pleasantly decorated and very comfortable. Since there were 12 of us, this was the perfect option and much better than hotel rooms. The house was very clean and well maintained and the owner was very helpful with recommendations and answering our questions. We enjoyed cooking breakfast every morning and eating in the backyard by the pool. The house is private and quiet which is exactly what we wanted. We went out on the Strip every day and found it was easy to commute back and forth. We love Trader Joes and there was one a few minutes away so it was perfect for us to stock up. The game table kept our kids entertained and it was a great way for us to spend quality time together. We have recommended this house to our family and friends who need a getaway and we plan on staying here again the next time we are in Las Vegas.

The description was accurate regarding the location it was very close to the Strip and the airport which was good for us with so many of our guest flying in from all over the country. The photo's were exactly what we saw when we got there. The place was clean and maintained. Charlie and Gena were extremely helpful with everything we needed to make our wedding very special. We would highly recommend this property to friends, relatives and people we meet.

Owner response:We enjoyed hosting Greg and Debbie along with their family and friends. Very kind and generous people and we want to wish you the very best of life together! Please visit again as you and yours are welcome anytime! Thank You

Glorious Wedding Site!

Guest: Lauren and Bryan (Hamden, CT)
Date of Stay: 07/21/10 Review Submitted: 08/01/11

We had our wedding at this property and it was absolutely amazing. The setting was perfect for our ceremony and reception of 75 people. This property is neighboring another 4 bedroom house which we also rented. The grooms family stayed in one house and the brides in the other. It worked out perfectly; there was so much space and the scenery, landscaping and architecture were a beautiful backdrop. It also is a quick cab ride to the strip and to Walmart so we had easy access to everything we needed. The owner of the home, Charlie, was much more a host than a landlord. He checked in on us to make sure we had everything we need and even let us use another one of his properties (also beautiful) to take our wedding party pictures! He went above and beyond to help make our wedding special and memorable! Thank you so much for an amazing time! Lauren & Bryan

Great Wedding Reception Site!!

Guest: Lori Kaye (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho)
Date of Stay: 07/15/10 Review Submitted: 07/29/10

We traveled from North Idaho to Las Vegas for our daughters wedding at Caesar's Palace. We had the reception at the house with about 50 people attending. All our guests were so impressed with the comfort of the house and the location. Everyone had a wonderful time and we really enjoyed the pool!! . I would recommend this home to anyone hosting a small wedding and reception in Las Vegas. We found a wonderful caterer, bakery, and even hired a shuttle bus to transport guests from the Strip. We saved THOUSANDS!!! Now we can afford to visit again. Thank you Charles for making us feel so welcome!!

Great family reunion place

Guest: San Diego Couple (San Diego)
Date of Stay: 07/08/10 Review Submitted: 07/14/10

We just spent our family reunion at this estate. We traveled from California and the remaining family flew in from Atlanta. Charlie was on the spot and treated my family very well. This beautiful property accommodated all of our family comfortably. We felt like we were all at home. We cooled off in the pool from the Vegas heat. Some of the family enjoyed playing pool or ping pong, some played cards, while other family members just sat around catching up. We will use this home again when we travel in the area again. Thanks Charlie for a wonderful vacation.

Beware

Guest: Jo (Colorado Springs, Colorado)
Date of Stay: 01/29/10 Review Submitted: 07/28/11

I would not recommend this property to anyone. The home was dirty. There was left over food in the refrigerator. The owner was intrusive and was showing the property to other people during our stay there. He wrongfully kept our security deposit and after doing a little research he has used the same tactics on several other people. He fabricated damage in order to keep our deposit and when I asked for pictures he could never produce them. I have reported him to the Better Business Bureau and to the Nevada Attorney General. Beware! I live out of State and did not have the resources to persue the return of my security deposit. Especially if you live out of State and are renting this sight unseen. If you do decide to stay there make sure you take out the extra insurance to avoid losing your deposit.

Owner response:It is a shame that there are always a few bad apples. We have had years of very happy clients and hosted over 68 weddings. These folks visited over a year and a half ago and they have been trying to extort money from us ever since. They damaged our property and denied having done anything when our staff documented and witnessed such. They continue to have the ability to damage our reputation and hopefully VRBO will change policies to help protect their owners from unscrupulous guests. We have not taken security deposits since beginning of 2010 in order to save ourselves from wasting so much time with bad apples. Sad scenario but I wish them well in their life ahead.
