Want to get away to a peaceful location? This is it! Close to a small town, right on the water, and you can't see your neighbors. There is even a small beach (at low tide).
This tranquil property is situated on the granite and sandy shore of the Narraguagus Bay at the end of Fickett's Point, in Milbridge. Sit on the comfortable waterfront deck and watch lobster and pleasure boats come in and out of the channel leading to the open ocean. At low tide, you can relax on your small private beach to enjoy the view up close. The west-facing location will enchant you with spectacular sunsets. You can check Google map it by entering Fickett's Point Rd, Milbridge, Me. We're inside the crook of the little boot at the end, on the river side.
The center of town is conveniently located 2 miles away where you can find a well-stocked supermarket, movie theater, a couple of restaurants, to name a few. The surrounding area offers many opportunities to explore historical sites, state parks with beaches, and wildlife refuges with hiking trails. Acadia National Park is within driving distance for a day trip, as well as Quoddy Head State Park.
The spacious house has been newly renovated with fresh paint and new furniture. The decor is a blend of colorful seaside cottage style with contemporary flair. Besides the queen bed in the master bedroom, and the full and twin beds in the 2nd bedroom, you'll also find both a queen size and twin size sleeper in the living room and den.

Year Purchased: 2008
When we purchased our second home last fall, we fulfilled our dream of owning a property on the ocean. The house is located 3 1/2 hours from our primary residence and unfortunately, we can't drive there every weekend. So although we plan on spending several weeks there throughout the year, we thought it made sense to offer it to others to enjoy, too.
We made some upgrades to the house, and added new furniture, beddings, kitchen tools, etc. (I am a bit of a weekend chef, so I like to have tools at my disposal). You'll even find a big pot, and nut crackers and picks so you can have your very own lobster feast right at the house!
Why the Owner Chose Milbridge
When we looked around for properties, Milbridge soon became our main focus for location. The town is the largest you'll find halfway between Ellsworth and Machias, and offers pretty much everything you'd want (grocery store, small movie theater, medical center, etc.). Don't get me wrong, if you blink too long, you'll miss the town! It can be described as "quaint." I didn't feel like having to drive 10 miles just to get a loaf of bread.
Even though the town is just 2 miles away, the house is at the end of a point, so there is plenty of privacy, peace and quiet (you can't see the neighbors on either side).
The Unique Benefits of this House
One of my favorite thing so far is sitting on the deck and watching fishing boats go by in front of the house. And the smell of fresh air, you just can't beat that. It sure feels like you're on the Maine coast.

Thank you for letting us stay at your house for two weeks, August 19 to September 4th. It was a fun filled time we will remember for a long time. Your house is beautiful and made staying there relaxing and it felt like home. We did a lot of sightseeing, eating out and cooking there was great because it is a beautiful, well equipped kitchen. I am glad we could help during the hurricane in protecting your outdoor furniture and grill. It was our pleasure

Our family of four enjoyed a relaxing week in Milbridge. The house was perfect for us, with plenty of room and comfortable amenities. We spent hours exploring the beach right at our doorstep, and the scenery was breathtaking - especailly the sunsets! Milbridge is a quaint town and close enough to Ellsworth and Acadia for day trips. We look forward to returning soon!

This is the email I received from the Konzen's on 6/6/11: "Our vacation was wonderful! Thank you so much for the use of your lovely seaside cottage - it was perfect! We have fallen in love with Maine. Everywhere we looked was just beautiful. We had one sunny, blue-sky day and we spent it at Acadia. Other than that day, it looked a lot like western PA - overcast and gray, but there are enough windows in the house that it wasn't depressing at all - besides, we were on vacation! And, overcast was great for fishing so my husband was happy. Not having internet access at the house was a plus - it eats up way too much time!"

This was my first time in Maine. My husband and I wanted a quiet time on the water. We saw the ad and liked the fact that it had a private beach (when the tide was out of course). We enjoyed the home as it was fully equipped and nicely decorated. The blueberries had just come into season so we enjoyed them every day. The area wasn't crowded. There were a lot of interesting sights and hiking trails. I certainly would like to rent this home again when I visit Maine.

We spent a week at the end of July 2010. We found it was the perfect spot for quiet get away. Although the weather was really hot there was always a beautiful breeze off the water. The house was very clean and really nicely decorated. Everything that you needed was already there. Location was perfect, Camp Obella Island, Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor was all within a short drive. You could spend a day at the beach right in front of the house during low tide or take a nice drive along the coast. We would definately recommend this place for a vacation. If travelling with pets Bar Harbor is a very pet friendly place to go.
