GREAT Stay in Cusco

Date of Stay: 02/07/10 Review Submitted: 06/04/10

I am a bit slow in getting our review online, but we enjoyed this apartment and the fine city of Cusco. We stayed a week in Feb 2010 and the weather was nice wit some rain, but we live in the rainy Northwest of USA so rain is OK even while traveling. But we did miss out on M.P. because of the great rains just before our visit. Now we will HAVE to go back someday!!! The thin air may be a problem for some, but take it easy the first couple of days and you will enjoy the old city and it's surrounds. Monica and Tony are great people to deal with and Javier is wonderful and helpful beyond belief. Their apartment location will give you a sense of being in an old Inca town with modern flare. This apartment has the best location in Cusco. We stayed for 3 weeks and were very comfortable. The kitchen was sparse, but, as chef's we made due. Javier, the manager, was very friendly and helpful. Once you get used to the altitude and the steps, you don't mind leaving the apartment more than once a day. We stayed in January, and the heater was very useful in the bedroom. I would recommend this place to anyone who has no trouble with lots of stairs.

Hi Monica and Tony, We wanted to let you know that we had a fantastic time in your lovely apartment. It was a nice change after staying in some rather basic hotel rooms. Javier, who works tirelessly, was so helpful with all our questions on where to find things around Cusco. When the roads were closed to Puno and it looked as if our plans were changing Javier let us know the apartment was open for the next few days - it was a nice option because the choice was being in a home vs a hotel. The only suggestion I would make, cut the firewood into manageable pieces. It was hard to find pieces to fit in the fireplace and those that didn't were very hard to break with your shoes. Beautiful apartment and hotel - I will recommend both to any friends who travel to Cusco. Kim and Peter ps: thank you for the recommendation of Deborah at Panchamama - she helped us out with internal air and was ever so helpful when we encountered some snags along the way.

Owner response:Thank you both for the kind words. As for the firewood, we have hired a service to cut the wood into sizes much easier to handle and burn. Tony and Monica,Owners

A well positioned, nicely furnished and spacious apartment with a stunning view over city and mountains, as well as a most friendly and helpful caretaker. Kitchen equipment a bit sparse. Credit card payment would have been apreciated as Western Union payment is costly and tme consuming.

Owner response:Thank you for your suggestions. We are going to have credit card capability by Spring 2010 and by end of November we are adding a microwave along with more kitchen equipment.

Your place is simply beautiful. What made our trip to Cuzco especially happy, enjoyable, and luxurious was that we got to start and end each day at such a warm, inviting, relaxing and lovely home. Monica and Tony - you've put a lot of love into this apartment and it shows. We feel privileged to have stayed there. I had not expected my memories of Cusco to be so warm and happy, and had not possibly expected our lodging could be so largely responsible for them. Thank you both and good luck!

Dear Monica and Tony, Your apartment is GREAT! The views are amazing and the location is absolutely ideal - situated very close to all the restaurants and sites that Cusco has to offer. I was especially impressed with the quality of work being done to your hotel; the furniture and woodwork are beautiful! I look forward updates on your progress and hope to return someday to book a room. Javier could not have been more helpful during our stay. Thanks again for sharing your part of Cusco with us. All the best, Eric
