Because the Leeward is set further away from "the strip," it offers a quiet vacation experience. The Leeward has its own pool (heated in fall/winter) and is only a few steps away from Tower 2's hot tub and pool. Moreover, Edgewater's famous 11,500 square foot lagoon pool is only a short walk away, as well as two hot tubs which are adjacent to the lagoon pool.
If the beach is more to your liking, then you only have to step off the elevator, walk out the door, and step right on to the sugary white beach.
We have vacationed for many years at Edgewater Beach Resort and NO other Panama City Beach resort can boast to have Edgewater Beach Resort's amenities. In addition to the pools and hot tubs, Ocean's Restaurant is located right next to the lagoon pool. It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner (can order room service)and the bar serves all your favorite drinks until late each evening. During Spring Break and in the summer, there is also a Pizza Hut by the Lagoon Pool and a couple of other eateries. If you need pampering, there is a spa and beauty salon on site. Plus there's an exercise room if your goal is keeping off those vacation pounds.
On the beach you will find jet ski rentals, parasailing, or you can brave the big banana. Golfers and tennis players need only to walk across the street to Edgewater Beach Resort's own golf course and tennis courts. Within a couple of miles of the resort you will find Shipwreck Island (a huge water park), dinner cruises, Shell Island, night clubs, Gulf World, a state park, sport fishing, and fabulous Pier Park.
