Boston studio description

We've been renting high-quality furnished accommodations for over 6 years, exclusively in the Beacon Hill neighborhood. 'the Nest' apartment location is stellar, just 3 minutes walking distance to Boston Common, the Freedom Trail, an organic grocery store, a wine shop and many more conveniences and Boston attractions. Please note that our pricing is NET and includes all taxes, cleaning charges and payment fees.

Welcome to 'The Nest', a charming top floor studio apartment, oozing with comfy quaintness. This unit is located in a late 1800s Beacon Hill building at the very top of the Hill and the center of downtown Boston. The original pine flooring, original working fireplace and antique furniture add to the appeal. The apartment is extremely quiet located at the back of the building with tree tops and sunlight filtering in from the south-facing windows.

Basics: The kitchen is brand new and done to a very high standard. Normal-sized refrigerator, gas stove, Bosch quiet dishwasher and deep sink. The bed is a Beauty-Rest plush-firm queen with down pillows and sateen sheets. The bathroom has marble tiled floor, high-end fixtures and a high-pressure shower and tub. Washer/dryer at the bottom of the stairs along with a place to keep a bike.

Electronics: Brand new LED HDTV (w/ standard HD cable (CNN, CNBC, ESPN, etc.), DVD/CD player (w/ DVDs), wired/wireless internet, ipod/mp3 speakers & cable, ipod clock radio, roll-out air-conditioner, telephone & answering machine with free US & Canada LD, hair-dryer, vacuum, laser printer.

Eco-Green: Aside from an efficient apartment in a location that promotes walking and public transportation; bed linens and pillows are eco-certified and cleaning agents, paper supplies and soaps/shampoos are earth-friendly whenever possible. We recycle. Cloth shopping totes are hanging in the kitchen and the electricity is powered from wind energy.

Essentials: No smoking, no pets, no parking (ask), sleeps 2 maximum (no exceptions). Includes all utilities and furnishings, very detailed owner's manual for apartment and neighborhood, along with owner's personalized restaurant map.

Expectations: Please note that Beacon Hill is on a hill in an urban historical zone, so there is a fair amount of walking when staying in this neighborhood. The Nest apartment is a 4th floor walk-up (3 flights of stairs; European 3rd floor) without an elevator, which may not be suitable for all guests.

We have other accommodations in the Beacon Hill neighborhood with different profiles, so just ask.

We loved our week long stay at "the nest". it was a perfect, convenient location and was stocked with absolutely everything we could possibly need. Paul was wonderful to work with - quick to respond and had a very thorough guide to the area that was helpful. We enjoyed being immersed in this wonderful neighborhood and really being able to live like locals for the week. We will definitely stay at the nest again!

Owner response: Thank you so much for writing a review. I'm so glad "the Nest" apartment could be part of your Boston experience. From a lobster pot (Japanese guests in particular like to cook fresh Boston/Maine lobster) to an HP laser printer (for our longer-term business guests), we slowly but surely have tried to fit-out this apartment to accommodate all needs. Happy Travels....

We just returned from a 5 night stay at The Nest, and we couldn't have been happier with both the apartment and the location! The studio is small but decorated nicely and every detail has been thought out, from the binder full of information about the studio and the neighborhood to toiletries and places to store your belongings while you're there! Yes, it's a haul up the stairs with your luggage, but it's worth it. As for the location: you're close to everything. 10 minute walk to the subway, 10-12 minutes to the Common and City Park and the start of the Freedom Trail, and 10 minutes to lots of restaurants on Charles St. It's 2.75 miles to Fenway, but we walked that, too! The neighborhood is beautiful - street after street of well-kept old brick buildings, and it's quiet and safe. I sincerely hope we can return to Boston someday and stay in the Nest again. Thanks, Paul!

We're so glad "the Nest" apartment could be part of your Boston experience, and big kudos for walking to Fenway park since the walk is so spectacular, particularly in October. Happy Travels.

My husband and I recently stayed at "The Nest" and every need was met. The place was stocked with things needed and we were thankful for the umbrellas as it rained during our stay in Boston. The subways are within a 10 minute walk. Attractions and restaurants are also within walking distance. The only drawback is that "the Nest" is on the 4th floor and lugging luggage up was a challenge, but was well worth it upon opening the door. I would recommend this to any couple traveling to Boston.

This was our first experience renting through HomeAway. The property was everything we need to have a great stay in Boston, it was very well appointed quite clean. The information booklet had the best information about the surrounding area good tips on where to go for meals and to shop to be self contained. Thanks for a great first experience we will be telling our friends to book their next holidays accommodation throught this site. We had a fantastic time.

I recently stayed at the Sunny Studio during a short trip to Boston and found it to be a delightfully wonderful apartment! The stairs, steep and narrow, were a challenge for me and my heavy suitcase, however the reward at the top was worth it! Cozy and comfortable, I felt like I was able to "come home" after a day of walking the North End or shopping at Faneuil Hall and experience the pleasures of living like a local Bostonian. It was close to all amenities, and directions to anything you could possibly have needed was at your fingertips in the super detailed manual provided. The bed was firm, the shower was hot and full of pressure, and best of all, I felt safe in the quiet top floor sanctuary. Without a doubt, I would stay here again over the expensive, impersonal hotels in the area......and hopefully one day again soon! Thanks again for helping to make my Boston experience unforgettable!

This was our first visit and we lucked out with the nest. The location is great. Grocery and liquor stores within a 2 minute walk. Train stations nearby. Easy to walk around the beacon hill area. Very quite. Bed and shower were both great. We had every thing we needed. Dining within walking distance. My only improvement would be to have one upholstered chair.....Not a big deal. [note from owner: we added a very nice chair based on this suggestion] We plan on going back next year. My husband and I used to live in the neighbourhood a few years back, and during a recent visit to Boston, we enjoyed several nights in the Sunny Studio. Without a doubt, it was an authentic Beacon Hill experience. Charming neighbourhood and close to everything. The unit itself was cozy and clean, and felt more like a home than a hotel. Up on the top floor, we also really enjoyed how quiet it was. The kitchen is convenient if you want to stay-in and cook, and the Whole Foods is only minutes away. PS - Beacon Hill Bistro on Charles Street makes some delicious vanilla pancakes. P. & C. Vancouver, Canada

I was staying in Boston for a couple of months and needed a place that was walking distance to everything. This place exceeded my needs by being in a beautiful, historic neighborhood and being so close to Whole Foods which allowed me to cook! If you're into running, there's a great path by the water just a few blocks away. If you're into shopping there are several places just down the street. If you're into nice restaurants, there are plenty of those as well. The owners were completely accessible and friendly. If you're on foot and in shape, this is a great place. Walking up the hill and 3 flights of stairs turned out to be a great workout! I had some problems with the fridge staying cold but the owners are replacing it. That would be my only complaint. You'll love this place!!! J. F. New York, NY

I arrived April 16, 2009, to run The 113th Boston Marathon. My priority was to find a place to stay within 20 minutes walk of the finish line. Downtown hotel rooms were running $600 plus. The studio I rented for 1/3 of that was incredible. It was home! So comfortable, so close to everything. I ran The Marathon and I walked 2 marathons in the 7 nights I was there. I ate out twice for lunch. All my meals were in. I bought my own food at the grocery, one block away. I ate healthy, I ate like I would have eaten at home. I had such a great week. It was truly a dream week. It was a 10 star experience. Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
