Manistee Lake, Kalkaska County is nestled in the vacation heartland of the lower peninsula of Michigan. Many vacationers visit this area because of its year around natural beauty, wildlife, recreational variety, and cost competitiveness.
This lake has much history as depicted in the book "Main St., A Portrait of Small Town Michigan" by Manny Crisostomo included an introduction by a Michigan native Tom BeVier. He tells of a man during the Depression who traded a Zenith radio for 15 acres of land on Manistee Lake. That first evening they watched the sun set over Manistee Lake.
The son said to his father, "This is the most beautiful sunset I've ever seen." "I think I'll hold on to this land. " The sunsets are truly spectacular and this story relates to a large part of why our family has owned this land for over 50 years. Laing's Cabins are located on the east side of Manistee Lake, just outside of Kalkaska Michigan
We provide a cottage with room to sleep as many as 6 people comfortably. The cottage has a full updated kitchen, bath, living/dining areas, two bedrooms; as well as, all of the cookware and dishes you will need. Linens and kitchen towels are provided. Bath towels are not provided.
The lake property is open and spacious for outdoor recreation activities. A 60 foot dock is provided which reaches out over the lake’s sandy bottom. The accommodations are perfect for all ages for a relaxing vacation spent swimming, fishing water/or jet skiing, or enjoying the view.

- The Cedar Cottage lake lot is 375 feet deep and 51 feet wide with an equal sized adjacent lot. Cedar cottage is 800 sq ft, kitchen and great room has a gorgeous lake view. The Cedar Cottage is heated with a natural gas furnace for those cool days and evenings. Shaded picnic table, lakeside bonfire pit with benches for roasting your "dogs", "burgers", "marshmallows", etc, and a 60 foot dock. Large lot to play games, relax, enjoy, etc.
