Why the Owner Chose Vineyard Haven
My wife Barbara has been vacationing on the island for 40 years and had always dreamed of having a house on the island. In 1999 that became possible but there was not much on the market. We found a house on a beautiful piece of proberty with a view of the sound and bought it even though the house was truely ugly. In 2004 we were able to renovate the house and now have a charming shingle style house to go with the proberty. There are pictures of the original house at the house so you can appreciate the transformantion.
The Unique Benefits at this House
We feel the house offers the best of two worlds. It is set in the woods and has the feel of being up island but is only 10 min from town for easy access to stores and ferry. The opwn floor plan with separate seating areas makes it very comfortable for a large group. To wake up in the morning and look out at the Elizabeth Island is charming

We are Barbara Hamill and Frank Banister. Our home base is White Plains, NY but we try to visit the Island once a month. The house is rented for most of the summer but we enjoy the off season. September and October may be the best times on the island

We returned to Martha's Vineyard to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary with friends. This property was a great escape to celebrate the big occasion. Everything in the house is well appointed and exceeded everyones expectations. We recommend this property if you plan on visiting Martha's Vineyard.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway.
