I am very selective and reviewed many homes before choosing this one. Every single word of the description is accurate. The property is extremely clean and the owner was great to work with and the housekeeper (Michele) was an added bonus. The personal involvement by the owner is added value to this rental and they have done a wonderful job ensuring the home is furnished for large groups. Thank you Nick for your personal involvement and to your wife for her vision of the furnishings – you have demonstrated the difference between an involved owner and an absentee owner.

WOW! If you are looking for an extremely well kept house this is it. You can't get closer to the beach without being right on it. The private beach entrance is just across the street which is convenient. Our family had a wonderful time, I would recommend this house to anyone with a big family or group of friends. Awesome experience!

We had 4 family's( the max 16) in "Another slice of Paradise" and found it to be really comfortable for a crowd. Not only was the home absolutely beautiful (paint colors and decor so nice) but the additional washer/dryer and dishwasher made life easy for a crowd. A few more towels and some soap in the bathrooms would have been a plus and we had to provide gas for the grille (just the luck of the draw I guess) but overall we didn't have any complaints. The location was wonderful... beautiful beach easy to get to and close enough to walk to several restaurants, coffee shops and bars. Very close to a great Outlet mall. I left money in a cabinet and the housekeeping staff found it and returned it to me. We will be back!

My family has been vacationing at Another Slice of Paradise and A Slice of Paradise for the past three years. Both homes are beautifully decorated and have every amenity you can imagine!! The rooms are spacious, the layout is great for large gatherings and the balcony's offer beautiful views. We have had up to 4 families stay comfortably. The beach is right across street and you have everything you need in walking distance. Nick is always great to work with and we hope to be going again next year.

-- Before reading this please note that we are well aware that we received some of our deposit back not all of it. We are not writing this to try to get any form of money back. We want the travelers to be well informed of the issues we faced, so that they are not as confused during the whole process as we were. --If you look at the rental agreement it says no more than 14 people are allowed to stay at the house. Why on the website then does it say it can sleep 16 to 19 does not make a lot of sense. --If renting off of VRBO.com know that the house in the picture is not the actual house. That is the other house he owns next door. So, don’t be confused when you pull up. --BEWARE there is an extra security deposit upfront that is no where to be seen in the on the website but will pop up once you pay your deposit and get the rental agreement. This was a list of stuff we got from the housekeeper that she said was wrong that just seemed absurd: Every blanket and rug had to be washed. They used all the linens for the pull out and they used the sheets for the pull out in the master. Everything had to be washed. -- This is the most absurd. If he doesn't want stuff to be used do not put it in the house at all. And there is no such thing as a pullout in the master it was a RECLINER. I also told the couple of kids that were there after 10 when we arrived that they needed to vacate and that the trash needed to be in bags. They said that they were waiting on a ride. They got picked up some time after 11. --- the guys were waiting on their ride that was coming from sea grove about a 30 minute drive and they were running late. Being in the hospitality industry this is not how people are supposed to treated when they are standing in the garage waiting because it was raining outside. It was 3 of them. This had to be dug out of the garbage disposal. --- a top of a water bottle had fallen down in there. In all the times that we have rented we have never had to clean the garbage disposal out Rugs were put outside to use (all had to be washed, they were black) --- floor mats that you wipe your feet off with were outside when we arrived so I guess you need to put those in a closet or something Had to lift the bunk bed and put pins back in -- we still don’t know what this means but we think it means the pins on the end. We did not purposely pull these out. We were unaware of this issue until we got back.

This house is immaculate and in a terrific location for both beach fun and shopping! The community pool is beautiful and well maintained and the beaches are fantastic. There was more than enough space for our family members to come visit us during our stay and all the extra beach "toys" in the garage were a real plus. We recommend this vacation home to anyone who loves pristine white beaches and quality accommodations. Well worth the price!

Surely, an earlier review is one that got mixed up with a different house. Unfortunately, we were too late to get the week we wanted this summer at this outstanding house. I stayed at this house before, and it was astounding clean, beautifully decorated with an uncanny eye to detail, upscale furnishings, and absolutely wonderful. It was so far and above what I have found at other VRBO rentals, that I am kicking myself for not making reservations earlier. I guess because the house is so bad that's why reservations are as hard to find at hens teeth? Really?

My family and I had the privelege of staying at Another Slice of Paradise in October of 2011 and we loved it! It is a beautiful home that is close to the beach and we loved being able to walk to Pompano Joe's and Whale's Tale for lunch. I would highly recommend this home a place to go for truly a wonderful vacation in Destin! Thank you Nick for your kindness and help anytime we had a question.

I specifically chose this property because of its size, beach access and elevator amenity. Our daughter was gettng married in Destin and it was the perfect place for the family to gather and celebrate the event. Everyone appreciated that they had their own private bath and TV in their rooms. The master suite was beautiful and the multiple decks became an extension of the living space. I would highly reccomend this property for anyone that would like a relaxing beach vacation.

We rented both A Slice of Paradise and Another Slice of Paradise for a family reunion of 27 people over Labor Day weekend. A Saturday to Saturday rental would have done us no good since most of the family could only come Friday through Monday. Nick was very easy to work with to get us the correct dates at both houses. Another visitor for Labor Day weekend was Tropical Storm Lee. It sat over the Emerald Coast for a full five days. This meant that all of us spent much more time inside and together than anticipated. It could have been awful, but instead was delightful. The houses allowed plenty of room for full-group gathering, and also space for some quiet separation. Everything we needed for our comfort was there, and everything is very tasteful and of very high quality. Toddlers to adults to grandparents were all happy. During breaks in the storm, it was incredibly easy to run across to the beach for a lovely walk. We walked down to Pompano Joe's for lunch and dinner a couple of times. The easy access is a huge bonus. I cannot overstate how wonderful these properties are for a large group gathering. It's hard to tell just from pictures on the internet, but I highly recommend both homes!

We had a wonderful time on our vacation in Destin. The house was perfect for my family of four, my brother's family of five, and my other brother's family of three. We all fit comfortably and had plenty of space. We had six kids with us, ranging from ages 1-7. We were pleased to see that the house had a pack and play, a high chair, a booster seat, PLENTY of sand toys and even some books that the kids enjoyed reading. We loved the close proximity to the gorgeous beach, without actually being on the beach. If the kids got tired of the sand, we moved to the back yard pool. If they grew tired of that, we went to the community pool. So we had plenty of options. The only thing I didn't see, and was expecting upon arrival, was a book or packet of information regarding the area, things to do, and most importantly the closest hospital. The first night we were there, my four year old son rolled out of bed in the middle of the night and cracked his head open. We could not find an address for the house, and we had no idea where the closest hospital was. It would have been nice having that information made available to us, instead of frantically searching for the house's address at 4:00am so we could find a hospital. Other than that, the house is exactly as advertised. What you see is what you get, which is a great thing! We would 100% come back again in the future if the opportunity arises.

This is an outstanding place to stay. It met all of our expectations. With three families staying on the third floor, the elevator was a lifesaver while moving in and out. The walk to the beach was about average compared to other places that we've stayed in. The oldest child in our group is four years old and the private pool is just right. I reckon that the community pool will be the choice for older children. Early and late, there is a constant parade of walkers, joggers, and bikers going by on the wide sidewalk. Cardio couldn't be more convenient. We'll certainly return if we decide to get this many families together again.

Our family of children and grandchildren enjoyed tremendously our stay at the Frangista Beach House. The house was well stocked with necessary items, bathrooms and bedrooms were spacious and attractively furnished, and common areas were roomy and comfortable. The kitchen was especially well equipped. Proximity to beach was good as well as shops and restaurants. We particularly enjoyed the backyard private pool and the elevator for transporting luggage upstairs. Two washers and dryers made doing the laundry a lot more pleasant. The description regarding the location of the property and the photos were accurate and the caretaker's orientation was very helpful. We would recommend the Ocean Club and Pompano Joes Restaurants. The grandchildren very much enjoyed the inflatable water activities located in front of the Whale's Tale Restaurant which was within walking distance of the house. We would recommend this property withour reservation.

The owners of this property have done an excellent job of portraying this property on the web. The beach access, the pure white sand, the emerald water, the private pool, and the community pool are wonderful. The owners do a terrific job of keeping this property pristine. The house is beautiful, functional, almost like living in paradise. This house is maintained and cared for very well. We rented both houses and the fact that they are side by side made the family feel closer together. This was an excellent place for a family reunion/vacation.

Our family of ten, including three adult children, their spouses and grandchildren ages 12,10 and 5,spent a wonderful mid July week at this house. The house was certainly as advertised and the pictures give an accurate description of the house. We found the kitchen to be well equipped but I suggest the addition of an electric teamaker since Southerners really like iced tea in the summer. We found the elevator useful when bringing groceries to the second floor kitchen as well as taking luggage to the second and third floor bedrooms. We appreciated the owners' decision to have two dishwashers and two washer-dryers since large groups can quickly produce a lot of dirty dishes and dirty laundry. The dryer did a good job with the beach towels. The location of the house was great. We were across the street from the beach and a closer walk to the beach than any other place we have stayed in my 35+ years of visiting the Alabama-Florida Gulf coast, including many beachfront condos. I suggest the owners tell prospective renters that the homeowner's association does not allow the use of a tent or canopy on the private beach. We brought two canopies we could not use so we rented a large umbrella for the week and used our own beach chairs as well as the chairs provided by the owners. We left our chairs at the house and hope they will be used by futute renters. The house is a short drive from the grocery, drug store, liquor store, restaurants and outlet mall. Our grandchildren enjoyed the daily stop of the ice cream truck and visits to Alvin Island, a short block away, for an evening treat. Pompano Joe's is a short walk up the street. We used the gas grill a number of times. We did not use the pool as much as we expected since the beach was so close and the pool is small. We did not have need to use the community pool. We will return next summer if our family schedule permits us to have a week together and the house is available. The rental of the house was money well spent for a memorable family vacation.

Our family just returned from our 3rd annual vacation in Destin and I have to say our stay at "Another Slice of Paradise" helped make it a perfect week!! This house is absolutely wonderful!! Pictures do not do it justice. We had several families and children so we enjoyed EVERY room in the house. The beach is literally steps from the house and the pool was perfect for relaxing while the kids were napping. Thanks so much to Tina and Nick for sharing your beautiful home and thanks to Michelle and Carl for everything you did to make it a wonderful week for us!!

This was our first stay at this property and we would recommend it to anyone who asked. The home is beautiful and well kept. The owners are very accommodating and welcoming. Everything a family needs is included in the home. The views from the balconies can't be beat. Our family had so much fun using all the amenties in the home. The entrance to the beach was just across the street. The pool, even though small, was refreshing after playing on the sandy beach most of the day. Thanks for a very relaxing vacation for our entire family.

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful beach house. Well maintained and ample kitchen facility for large groups. The master suite on the 3rd floor was just that - a magnificant suite. We had never stayed in the Emerald Coast area and was amazed at the beautiful white sand. We had an added feature - there were several weddings on the beach on Saturday evening. Loved people watching from balconies. Also enjoyed the fresh gulf shrimp at the Lucky Snapper ( great views) and great shopping at Silver Sands. Golf is very convenitent. We would recommend your beach house to our friends.

I just wanted you to know how much we enjoyed “Another Slice of Paradise” the week of the 14th thru the 21st of May. It is everything you said it would be and then some. Without a doubt it was the best family vacation we have ever had and we owe a lot of it to you and your beautiful place. I would recommend your home away from home to anyone. I told my family, while setting on the balcony drinking coffee early one morning, that if heaven was anything like the week we spent at you place it was going to be spectacular. I don’t say this lightly we had, without any doubt, the best family vacation we have ever had.

Our stay at this beautiful home couldn't have been better. Our entire extended family loved staying in this home and would love to come back. The pictures and descriptions on the internet do not show the real beauty of this home! EVERY room is beyond belief gorgeous. The amenities, pools etc. were exceptional. Only problem we had was no soap in the showers and not enough toilet paper. There was a moment when there wasn't electric in a bathroom, the management people were superb and attentive and saw to the problem immediately. We could not have asked for anything more nor anything better!! Thank you for maintaining such a wonderful home for vacationers to enjoy. It is a wonderful place to be. Para-sailing was enjoyed and recommended as well.

Thanks so much Nick and Tina. My family had a wonderful week at your beautiful (Very clean) home in Frangista Beach. We really enjoyed all the special touches to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. My family usually spends our week in Kiawah, but all have stated they want to come back to this home next year! We loved the proximity to the beach and the backyard pool area (and community pool) was a nice alternative in the late afternoons. Having three floors to spread out on gave us our own space when needed and the big gathering area on the 2nd level worked well for together times. My favorite was coffee on the porch in the early mornings listening to the surf. We had an infant and two preschoolers with us and the home had baby gates, a high chair, pack and play, and books and games. We really appreciated those things. Can’t wait for next year. Thank you so much! PS The home orientation on arrival was also very helpful and we got lots of info about the area as well!!

This is a beautiful home, well decorated and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with great cooking utensils and applicances. The 2 washers and dryers is also very convenient. We were disappointed with the size of the private pool. The home sleeps 14 people and there is no way 7 people can do more than sit or stand in the pool. The home needs more towels. We had a small number of bath towels, dish towels and wash cloths available to use. We had to wash constantly to be able to have clean towels for bathing and to use in the kitchen. The sofa bed has practically no mattress at all. It is so thin and uncomfortable, not even the children were able to sleep on in. The sprinkler system needs some adjustments. We were constantly getting wet, just getting in and out or our cars. The sprinkler in the back yard would wet everything at the pool. Things you would place on the table and chairs would be soaked. Also be very careful on the balcony and the side porch if these areas are wet. We had a couple of people fall. There is tile on the floor and it is very slippery. Overall we had a nice stay at this home. We were unable to enjoy the beach to its fullest, due to the seaweed, but were able to use the community pool, which was never over crowded. Again, this is a beautiful home. Very comfortable and well decorated.
Owner response:I suppose you can't please all of the people all of the time....This group violated the guest agreement by occupying the house with 18 people (occupancy limit is 16) which, I suppose, is the reason they felt as if they ran out of towels. And must also be the reason they contacted me numerous times prior to arrival trying to get a free "upgrade" to our 8BR home (that sleeps 20). For the record, there are 4 towels placed in each bathroom (i.e. a total of 24 towels). Sleeper sofa mattresses are inherently thin so they fold sufficiently. And the sprinkler - I have never received a single complaint and it's certainly never been an issue when we occupy the house.

Had a wonderful time with 4 generations in your beautiful home! Plenty of room for all 16 of us! Had a little trouble with ants the first day, but one call and a guy was out to take care of it! No problems the rest of the week! The home had everything we needed. Places for all of us to eat, sleep and just hang out. Just cross the street and down some steps and you are on the beach. Close to all the stuff to do, but not too close to all the high rises, so the beach wasn't too crowded. Nice to have use of a high chair for our little one! The adults enjoyed the private pool after the kiddos were asleep! Thanks so much for an enjoyable time!

What a wonderful home for a vacation. Our recent visit to Destin took us to this beautiful home. The house/kitchen was so well equipped we never ate out and cooking in was a joy. We had 12 people with us and everyone kept commenting on how nice everything was and that this was the most relaxing vacation they had ever been on. The walk to the beach and the community pool was so easy we could come and go all day even with a 6 month old baby. Would definitely love to go back.

Another Slice of Paradise has everything you need to have a restful and relaxing vacation in Destin. The house is clean and in excellent condition, and is tastfully appointed and well equipped throughout. We especially enjoyed the quick and easy access to the private beach just across the street. The private pool was also an added bonus and a nice alternative to wading in the gulf. In addition, the walkway in front of the property provided wonderful access to an 'exercise trail' running in either directon from the property. Thank you Nick and Tina for your kind and warm hospitality, the personalized bottle of wine was a nice touch! Our family of 15 recently stayed in "Slice of Paradise" and it is everything advertised and more. The Athens' have a loving home, with a quick walk to the beach, lovely views and great floor plan for all. We had 3 generations; from 18 months to 66 years of age and the house worked for all. Destin is beautiful and we will definitely recommend "Slice of Paradise" to our friends. Also - house does have a booster seat, high chair and pack-n-play, along with beach and pool toys for use. I can't say enough positive things about this rental. One of the best we've rented out of the houses we've rented the past 15 years.

A Slice of Paradise is just what it is called! Everything was perfect for our vacation...The location could not have been more perfect and with the size and layout of the home, it accomodated our big group of 15 wonderfully! We could not have asked for anything better for our vacation and would recommend the house to anyone!

We enjoyed our 2nd visit to this beautiful home!! This time my three sisters, mom and our children all stayed and were very comfortable!! The home is a wonderful place to stay and you really do not want to leave. We all enjoyed the private pool at the end of the day! Nick was so easy to work with and Michelle and Carl are such a help with welcoming you to the home! I hope our family can continue to stay at Nick and Tina's home each year!! They have created a wonderful retreat for all of us to enjoy and a place to create our own memories that will last forever!! Thank you!!

I stayed in this house with 3 other families for vacation in July of 2009. It was probably one of the most enjoyable vacations we have ever had. The location to the beach coupled with the extremely family friendly house with all the extras made it very enjoyable. I would highly recommend this property the management of the home made us feel at home and the house itself is immaculate. If you are looking for a beautiful Family location in an extremely eloquent surroundings look no further. In addition the owners of this property were very accommodating in making our visit memorable. You will not be disappointed this is clearly one of the nicest properties in Frangista beach.

My family and I recently stayed at A Slice of Paradise. We chose this destination as a middle meeting point for other family members. Everyone enjoyed the home and its amenities. This is a beautiful home and the kitchen is well set up for lots of cooking for a large crowd or a small one. Anything and everything we needed was provided, except the food of course :) I know we could not have chosen a better home in the area.

We recently stayed at a "Slice of Paradise" and the house is named appropriately. This is a house for all ages, families, groups, etc. We had 3 families with several small children each and were easily accommodated in every way. Lots of fun all around, easy house for lots of people, great kitchen to cook for the gang, and luxurious rooms to relax. We had an amazing week there with friends and would do it again, every month if we could!

My family and 2 other families just recently stayed in the Athen's family vacation home $1850. It was by far the best home we have ever stayed in and enjoyed it immensely! Tina and Nick were more than accommadating and even had a pack and play, high chair and booster seat for the kids. It was clean and beautiful and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great beach get away with family or friends! The Athen's family were a joy to work with and wish them the best in the future!! Thanks so much!

My family and I stayed in Destination Paradise. It is a fabulous home, that is situated in view of the Gulf and an inlet lake. The home is exquisitely decorated and feels very spacious and warm. The bedrooms/bathrooms are nicely decorated, and can easily accomodate many people. The kitchen is well supplied and the home has televisions with DVDs in every room. I found myself often sitting on the second floor balcony gazing at the Gulf and its majestic view. What a relaxing and fun location this is to be. I would highly recommend this home to all.

My wife and I celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary at Nick and Tina's "Another Slice of Paradise" in May. Destin was our honeymoon spot, and our favorite vacation destination. Of all the properties we’ve enjoyed in Destin, “Another Slice of Paradise” is by far the most well equipped and luxurious. It was a perfect getaway! We really enjoyed the beach access, and the short walk or bike ride to some of the areas best beach side restaurants. The pool is a nice quiet and private place to spend an afternoon. Stay in at night and enjoy the theater quality surround sound! We plan to make “Another Slice of Paradise” a family tradition for years to come. Thank you Nick and Tina!

Frangista Beach was our family hosting location for our daughters wedding at Henderson State Park. The house is fabulous! Some comments from family members who stayed that week: The kichen is wonderfully equipped, furnishings are top knotch, home is very spacious with easy access to beautiful white sandy beaches, plenty of room for parking, plenty of bathrooms. Our total experience was wonderful. We met the owner, Nick, while there and he is terriffic to work with. Did we mention the elevator was incredible? We highly recommend 'Slice of Heaver' to our friends. Everyone that stayed with us that week still talk about the house. We love it and will come back.
