My now husband and I rented this house with our wedding party for the week of our wedding. Everyone was so azamed by the wonderful views from all the porches. Andrew and Lara were so great and understanding during the entire process. We have discussed renting the house again next year for our one year anniversary because everyone had such a wonderful time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND to renters of all ages. BEAUTIFUL!!!!

From the owners, to the house itself, everything was so perfect! We had 11 ladies in our group and had plenty of space for everyone.The beds were all very comfortable, including the bunks. The kitchen was our gathering place most of the time,mainly bc it is every womans dream! The beach was actually a lot closer than I thought it would be, which was awesome too! Everything was as described and was a renters dream! We WILL be back! Thank y'all again for sharing your home with us!!

Good for the whole family

We had the entire family (11 total) here over Easter. The house worked out great. The kitchen was great! Everything we needed to cook Easter Dinner. Just be aware that this is on the River side of the island, so the water can be a little muddy at times, but always calm. If you want waves, just walk about 1/2 mile down the beach and you'll be on the Atlantic.

Owner response:Our home is nestled in a beatiful subdivision on the North Beach which is a very popular area of the island due to the private-like beach and proximity to shops and restaurants which are within walking distance of our home. The reason the North Beach is more private is that there is no public parking on North Beach so the beach is not crowded. This area of Tybee is perfect for families with young children or those looking for a more relaxed, quiet atmosphere. It is also perfect if you love dolphin watching, hunting for sea shells or kayaking. We have a two, four, and six year old and the North Beach is perfect for them.

We have stayed in Savannah previously, mostly in town. We were in Savannah for our daughters wedding. The owners were responsive to all of our questions leading up to our stay. The discription of the property is right on. The property was perfect, clean, well maintained. The strongest endorsement is that we will not hesitate to come back to this property..

Our Women' Adventure Club loved this home! We had plenty of room for group dining and hanging out, and everyone had a beautiful bedroom or deck to enjoy for peace and quiet. The location is great for beach or street bike touring of Tybee, and Savannah is close enough to explore and sight-see. The house was well equipped with bikes, linens, dining supplies, and it was clean and tastefully beach theme decorated. During your visit, we highly recommend Chef Joe Randall's Cooking School, Segway Tours of Savannah, and riding the bikes on the Tybee beach's hard packed sand, and through the neighborhoods of Tybee's eclectic beach cottages.

Lovely President's Day getaway

We stayed at this beautiful and comfortable house in February and loved every minute of our vacation. The house is very well equipped- we had everything we needed and more. The bikes provided were a huge bonus, ocean views from the terrace and deck were fantastic. The location is ideal- The beach is a 2 minute walk if you amble and a 30 second sprint. the lighthouse was only a mile or so away- restaurants are a 5 minute walk- really amazing vacation spot. The owners were so helpful and warm and took the extra trouble of mailing something we had forgotten(Thanks, Lara!) Highly recommend.

This is a very nice high end home in Tybee. The location is superb. We had 11 people staying at the house and always felt like we had plenty of space. We had a few issues while we were there, but we feel the owner dealt with them in an extremely fair manner. Thank you!

My husband and I took our two children and their families (total of 12 people) to Tybee and stayed at this lovely home over Memorial Holiday 2011. Pictures are almost always deceiving but not this time! What a beautiful property!! The property was well maintained and clean and the owners were most helpful and accommodating as we planned our trip. Without hesitation, I would most definitely recommend this property to anyone and everyone. We cooked most of our meals but did eat at The Crab Shack and North Beach Grill. Thank you, Lara and Andrew, for a most memorable stay.

What an amazing home. Both inside and out, this home has everything. Close proximity to the beach. Very nicely decorated and furnished. Great for family get togethers. Don't let the three stories scare you away. The home's elevator is great for those who have a hard time getting up and down the stairs. And, the view on the top balcony is amazing...and so very relaxing after a long day of playing at the beach.

The house is exactly as depicted in the description. Very clean and well maintained, beautiful views from the decks, a gourmet kitchen (too bad we didn't cook), and a great gathering spot, ideal for reunions. We were there at the end of April and the weather was super. We even took the bikes for a spin. I'd highly recommend this home. Restaurants and shopping were great.

A beautiful & spacious home. Met all of our vacation needs. Very nice neighborhood. Close to the beach with a nice walking path to the beach. Roof top terrace with lovely views. Nice & quiet residential area of the island. Easy drive to many things. Owners were very pleasant to deal with. I would recommend renting this property.

50th Birthday Celebrations

We stayed in this beautiful home with two other couples and had the time of our lives. Walking to the beach via the boardwalk was every morning and evening was so enjoyable. We actually walked to the Tybee Lighthouse one morning and then came back through the neighborhood streets. The house met all of our needs and was perfectly located for our daily excursions. Walking to some and then driving into Savannah. I think the widows walk was our favorite place, we relaxed in the lounge chairs, read books and enjoyed the view. We would recommend this home for anyone be it family or friends together for great times.

What a beautiful home with all the extras! We needed a place for several nights for our family to gather and it was perfect! The elders had the elevator, if they needed it. We had a great visit at this house, it had everything we needed and then some! The house is beautiful inside and out, plenty of parking and a great game area in basement along with bikes! We couldn't have asked for a better place for our family vacation of 11 people ranging in age from 75 - 19, something for everyone! Tybee is a great little town and everyone is so friendly. 2010 Thackston Family Reunion

Our family recently gathered for a reunion in Tybee and chose this house at The Sanctuary as our location. The home owner's were excellent communicators and an absolute pleasure to work with. This home was better than the pictures, which was a fabulous surprise! The kitchen really was fully stocked and the bed linens were top notch. My family was thrilled and is already talking about next year's visit to "our" new Tybee home in The Sanctuary.

4 Generations Meet at Tybee

This was our first visit to Tybee Island and we had a great time in a great home. The pictures and information were spot on. The owners were great in their communications. After a couple of days, we figured we liked the beach at Ft. Screven best. This was a short bike ride through some beautiful neighborhoods. The house offered plenty of room and privacy for our familes. The elevator worked great for getting supplies to the top floor, but even Gigi (the oldest generation) didn't need it. The ice maker had a tough time keeping up with our needs, but we made do. Huc A Poos (SP?), Cafe Loco, and North Beach Grill were our favorite dining/hangout spots. Save your $$ and stay away from the Crab Shack. We came from SC, GA, TX, and VA, hope to return to Tybee next year!

The house was so beautifully decorated, comfortable, and well stocked with everything we needed for our beach trip. It fit the needs of our family of four and the family of four traveling with us - very spacious! Great access to the beach and the beach area was very secluded compared to other locations in Tybee. Close to great restaurants and activities. I will definitely recommend this property to friends and family!

The house is beautiful! Beds were comfortable. We loved watching the sunsets from the roof top. Our son loved seeing how many toads he could find outside every night! We had plenty of safe roads to bike ride on in the morning and played ping pong till it was time to hit the beach. Our family loves getting together at Tybee Island and your house was a great place for us to enjoy our summer vacation.

We shared this house with 2 other families for our spring break. It was great! Everything it looks like in the pictures, and more. We loved how quiet that part of the beach was. We spent a lot of time using the kayaks and all the beach toys for the kids. Hope to be able to come back again some day!

The house is amazing. The location is great. We spent a day relaxing at the beach and it was wonderful, very private. The pictures just don't do the house any justice. Be sure to spend some time on the roof top deck. JJ for breakfast and Huc A Poos for Pizza are within walking distance. We hope to return someday! It is a short drive to Savannah-there is plenty of sightseeing on Tybee Island or in Savannah. We are a family of 6 and there was plenty of room for our family. The house is furnished beautifully and everything is brand new.

3 generations gather at Tybee Island for a great week

Grandparents, adult children and grandchildren had a wonder full week at Tybee Island in July 2009 thanks in large part to the wonderful house that we rented through VRBO. The space is new and well appointed. The amazing thing about this house was the well stocked kitchen with appliances and even spices ( how many times have we had to rush out and buy salt and pepper before the first meal in a rental house.) The walk to the beach was an easy one and the calme sea was perfect for the smaller children but also enjoyed by the older grandchildren and everyone delighted in the dolphins swimming by and the large ships entering and leaving the Savannah Harbor. Tybee itself has great places to eat and being 20 minutes from Savannah invited trips to see the sights. We look forward to being in this house again on Tybee. Did I mention the porches and rooftop places and the elevator? As you can see I could go on and on about this well located great house.

Family Vacation Extravaganza!

We highly recommend this home to families and groups ready to enjoy the Tybee Island experience. It comfortably accommodated our extended family from four households in GA, KY & OH, (8 adults and 5 children). This exquisite home was equipped with everything we needed and the location was great! We walked to the north shore and biked to the main strip. The lighthouse and fort delighted our entire group. Arranging our stay was a breeze and the house was even more beautiful in person than in the photos.
