Charming log cabin nestled in the hills between Saluda and Tryon, NC in the Rixhaven neighborhood. It is a quick drive to either historic town. The house is on three levels with includes a loft bedroom with balcony and full bath, a main floor with a dining room/den combo with a gas fireplace, master bedroom, full bath, kitchen and glass sun porch. The den has vaulted ceilings that allow for the sun to shine in through the skylights. The lower level consists of two bedrooms, a half bath, recreation room with pool table and satellite TV.
Sit on one of the two swings on the front porch and take in the breathtaking scenery. Or maybe just rock and and read a book as time slowly passed by. Privacy is the key and the house is situated on 2 acres of wooded property with many trails around making it ideal for hiking and nature watching. Downstairs is perfect for children with toys galore. Outside, ring the antique school bell to call everyone in for dinner!

Year Purchased: 2004
We live in Mt Pleasant, SC and for two years straight felt like we were evacuating Charleston because of a hurricane threat almost every weekend during the fall months. So we would always head for the hills but couldn't find anywhere that would take us and our dog Millie. We decided one day to purchase a house in the mountains as our Hurricane Evacuation plan and called it Millie's Retreat!
Why the Owner Chose Saluda
We grew up coming to Saluda all our lives - our parents own a home in downtown Saluda. So it was natural that we would look for a home in this area. But we wanted the charm of Saluda but views where we could really appreciate the mountain air. We found it! And we hope you do too. Our friends and family enjoy coming to the house as much as we do and we love sharing our home with renters who appreciate their friends and families too! Please enjoy yourselves.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
Our son is 12 and has always loved playing in the yard and on the trails around the house with his friends. We love to truly rest and unwind by reading a book in front of the fire or sipping coffee on the front porch!
