The best of romantic Paris is at your door step in this delightful, sunny, large two-bedroom apartment in a completely restored, elegant, 19th-century building. Just take the elevator to a world of rich wood floors, Kilm rugs, chandeliers, three marble fireplaces, and an expansive view of the canal Saint Martin at the Seine. This exceptional apartment, located in the Arsenal district of the desirable Marais, is very private and full of light and air because the huge French doors open onto the balcony overlooking the Canal Saint Martin. A short walk takes you to the Bastille, Notre Dame or The Garden of Plants.
The bedrooms are outfitted with ultra-comfortable, Swedish, double-size beds. There is cable TV and a stereo. The bathroom and the kitchen are American style with a new appliances. There is a washer/dryer in the large bathroom. The apartment has it all down to the champagne and wine glasses. It is walking distance to everything and the neighborhood has the restaurants, cafes, and bistros you have heard about as well as the best of the marchés.
VRBO suggests that you call the owners to confirm, etc. This makes no sense, given the time differences in international arrangements. DO NOT CALL THE OWNERS! We are NOT in your time zone. Please contact owners by email only. Our email address is g@jsdeft.com.

If you want a spacious apartment to call home for your time in Paris, this is it. It is just as the owner, Gene, describes. Close to Bastille and Marche Aligre (a "must do" on Sunday morning for fresh produce). Living and dining rooms facing directly to the Arsenal Canal. Quiet bedrooms across the hall from the LR/DR allow for a peaceful sleep. Secure access. FREE internet AND long distance phone! Three minute walk to Metro. My wife and I were very pleased with everything about this apartment, especially the separate dining room which made mealtime quite enjoyable. Bookcase with lots of Paris info books in case you don't bring yours. Kitchen is small but very efficient and cooking was never a problem. We thoroughly enjoyed our Paris "home" and would definitely return. Gene is an easy owner to deal with, which is an added plus. Highly recommended.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.

Gene: Just a short note to thank you once again for letting us use your apartment, for your detailed instructions on all aspects of life in the apartment and the neighborhood, and particularly for your willingness to be flexible about the timing. Our Parisian experience was much enhanced by having a place that felt like home and I suspect that it will not be a 23 year gap before my next visit to Paris. We had often talked about the idea of renting a place for a short term in a city that we wished to explore but this was our first real attempt to do so. It was successful beyond our expectations and now we have shared that with many of our friends. I hope that translates into more rentals (and revenue) for you. By the way, there are two bakeries on Isle St. Louis and the smaller one at the west end of the island has much the better croissants and baguettes although a much more limited selection of other pastries. Thanks, again. GerryRecommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+.

We've just finished our third stay at this beautiful flat on Blvd Bourdon, and would love to keep it a secret. It's sparklingly clean and beautifully maintained. It's spacious with high ceilings and tall windows overlooking the canal. Lots of sunlight, quiet, wonderful kitchen, large bath with washer/dryer - really everything one would need. It's within walking distance of the Marais, the Bastille, Ile St. Louis, the Gare de Lyon, the metro, the bus, etc. The owner also has wonderful restaurant recommendations to make and is a delight to work with.Owner response: I am so sorry VRBO continues to add "features" that are an insult to their owners without consultation.
