Over the four days we stayed at the hideaway, this unique place was refreshing to return to after meetings downtown. Public transportation is excellent and easy to access. As the accurate listing photos suggest, it is private and quiet, clean and contemporary, the accomodation was excellent. Walking through the garden morning and evening was glorious and obviously tended to with knowing hands. The owners were available and helpful if we needed them and at the same time respected our privacy. We also found wonderful restaurants... Seasons in Riley Park, East is East... both memorable experiences within walking distance. I would gladly reccomend this property.

This little back-yard cabin / cottage is just wonderful. The owners have made a very comfortable space for a single or couple to enjoy as a home-base while visiting all the different parts of Vancouver. The design details are exceptional (think Dwell magazine). And they included just enough amenities without making it feel crowded. (We were able to make our own breakfast/coffee everyday to help cut down on the priciness of the city). The bed was very comfortable and the linens were better than what you'd normally find in a vacation rental. The bathroom was really cool too. There was tons of natural light in the entire space and heated floors throughout. They even have skylights that open for the summer. This place gets five-stars. I do have just a couple recommendations though for the owners: 1) it can be fun for guests to have a book/journal to sign so they have a place to leave restaurant and other recommendations for future guests 2) a little more info available on YOUR favorite restaurants / cafes in the neighborhood and the city at large would be cool too 3) if there's a way to boost the wi-fi signal, that would be cool too...it worked fine, but it'd be nice to have a little stronger connection for browsing yelp on the iphones ;) And a couple recommendations for the city: 1) The "Alibi" pub in Gastown is easy to get to (straight down Main) and was a really cool spot for local beers and organic eats. 2) Bandidas in the Commercial Drive area was a neat vegan/vegetarian spot for inventive "mexican" food 3) Saravanaa Bhavan Indian Restaurant on W. Broadway was some of the best vegetarian South Indian food we've ever had Thanks again for the great stay. We look forward to heading up again this summer to do some more outdoor activities and explore the rest of the city.

I had a wonderful relaxing stay at the hideaway. The modern space was exactly what I'd expected from the listing photos, and was everything I needed for my weekend getaway to Vancouver. The location is convenient to Main St and public transportation, but private and quiet. I will recommend it to my friends visiting Vancouver and to those in Van with visitors coming to them. I will return!

I had a very enjoyable stay in this cozy studio for over a month. The location is private and perfect for quick access to public transit, local restaurants, shops, and parks. It is quiet and the owners are super helpful and accomodating. I felt right at home.

Have now stayed at the Hideaway twice. Loved it each time. The location is excellent, the neighborhood is quiet, and the studio is lovely. I found it to have everything that I needed, and especially like the kitchen and bathroom. It is an especially restful place to spend some time.Terence and Ben are great hosts, and I look forward to staying again.

I absolutely loved my stay. The trendy little Hideaway is a close walk to an amazing array of specialty shops: antiques, restaurants, coffee shops, clothing stores, thrift stores, an historic wool carding factory, kitchen shops, handmade footwear.....The garden is restorative for a tired soul and Ben and Terence are the perfect hosts. My dog was well loved, as well (thanks!). Minutes to the bus, a beautiful park and a 5 minute drive to the Canada line from the airport. Another stay is inevitable - it's my home away from home. 5 *****!

Recommended for:Age 55+, pet owners, sightseeing.

The perfect setting for a Vancouver getaway!

The Hideaway is thoughtfully designed and lovingly maintained. So many little details made this the perfect setting for our relaxing weekend getaway. We especially loved the plush, ultra-comfortable bed and the soothing, dual-head shower. And it was real treat picking fresh blueberries from the garden to eat with our breakfast! Terence and Ben were very easy to work with, and we will definitely be recommending the Hideaway to our friends looking for a place to stay in Vancouver!

My partner and I visited Vancouver for our friends' wedding and really enjoyed our stay. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality and the charm of this studio. In fact, we'd like to remodel our house with some of their style ideas. We didn't have a chance to meet Terrance, but we found Ben to be very helpful and accommodating. The price is reasonable, the studio is very well kept and stocked with a full kitchenette, the space is light and airy, and the shower is soothing with two shower heads. We chose to stay out of the downtown region knowing it would allow/force us to experience more of Vancouver. The location is just a few minutes out of downtown, with easy access to the routes into downtown. And I can't forget to mention the well planned and maintained garden. If you're looking for a rental in Vancouver I would definitely choose this one.

We stayed for 5 nights at The Hideaway and enjoyed every moment. Terence and Ben are excellent hosts with a willingness to offer advice when required but also to leave you to enjoy your privacy. The accommodation is as described and has everything for a comfortable stay - we would like to think we will return at sometime in the future.

My husband and I stayed at the Hideaway for two weeks during the Olympics. We loved it! The Hideaway is thoughtfully designed and well furnished. As we didn’t have a vehicle, we found that we were a comfortable walk to the bus stop and a brisk 20 minute walk to the Canada line, which allowed us to travel downtown quite easily. We enjoyed the gardens and the secure feeling we got from our location. The WiFi was great as it allowed us to communicate with our friends and family back home. Terence and Ben were wonderful hosts and we would recommend the Hideaway to anyone looking to visit Vancouver.

Excellent place to stay if you visit Vancouver. About 10 minutes or so drive to the center of the city and the amenities are very nice. Ben and Terence were great hosts and communication was excellent. My only regret was that I couldn't stay longer.

A very comfortable space to spend a week. The unit is beautifully designed and appointed, and it has easy access to Main Street and the Canada Line at King Edward.

We were in Vancouver to visit our son for three days and stayed at the Hideaway for the second time. The guys have made some changes, screen door, privacy shades. There were many goodies supplied.......tea, coffee, quality shampoo and soap. We love being able to make meals and it is so quiet for sleeping. We walked our dog ( in the rain ) through Queen E. park. I even walked down Main Street, finding a quaint knitting store and some wonderful antique stores. It is a great place to stay, beautiful and reasonable. Thanks for providing such a welcome home away from home.

Our comfortable stay at the Hideaway studio was so wonderful the first time that we have been back to stay several more times when visiting Vancouver. The well-tended garden changes with every season and provides a tranquil setting for the gorgeously modern, cozy and well-appointed studio. The Hideaway was an excellent place to stay to discover Vancouver. It's close to a great park, on a bicycle route, and a walk to some excellent eating. Downtown was minutes by car. The hosts were more than willing to help and advise with any needs. Plus, the view out the windows into the garden were so relaxing. Thanks!

This was a wonderful place to stay while visiting our son in Vancouver. It is close to many recreational areas. We prepared most of our meals in the studio kitchen, as well as making use of the barbeque and patio. We brought our dog with us and enjoyed taking frequent walks in the area. Terrence and Ben are excellent hosts and were very attentive to any of our needs. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Terence and Ben's Coach House is a wonderful place to stay. We were fortunate enough to stay there at the end of February and we really enjoyed ourselves. Everything in the Coach House was excellent - it was very comfortable, high end and super clean. All of the windows are wonderful and the location is fantastic. We hope to stay in the summer so we can really enjoy the garden too, but it was great in the winter. Terence and Ben are wonderful hosts. I highly recommend staying here!
