Bologna apartment description
Al Parco – or how to be at the top in Bologna, the Italian capital of fashion, gourmet food and leisure. This beautiful, roomy, bright apartment is part of a brand new (February 2008) residential building situated in a spacious, well-served area facing a green and shady park, a small museum right on its side and plenty of little traditional stores in the vicinity.
With the city center, the railroad station and the Fiera District at walking distance, a newly-built shopping mall with an indoor swimming pool, a gym, bars, restaurants, stores and shops of all kind just around the corner, Al Parco qualifies as one of the most convenient rentals in Bologna. From here you can easily reach any spot in town: the bus stop is right by about 40 mts. and private parking is provided in the yard, which is completely fenced and 100% safe for the kids.
The apartment is a first floor (elevator) and overlooks the park with a very large (30 sq.mts.) terrace which makes a great spot for your al-fresco dining (garden furniture is provided). Very spacious (about 110 sq.mts.), safe (safety door, gates) and comfortable with high-quality fittings, Al Parco can accommodate up to 7-8 guests with two full bedrooms (one with two single beds, the other with three – all can be put together to form doubles), a sitting room with a double sofabed (a put-up bed can be added, if needed), two large bathrooms (one with a tub and a shower, the other with a shower), a large kitchen and a hallway.
All rooms give on the terrace and feature the beautiful view of the park. The kitchen is fully equipped with all possible cooking utensils. Linen, silverware, dishes etc. are provided.
Al Parco has been furnished at the top of love and zest with mostly antique, craft furniture and furnishing. Particular attention has been paid to the details, among which the many paintings, etchings and various pictures stand out for their beauty and taste.
Major appliances include a cooking range/oven, a microwave oven, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher, an iron, a washing-machine, a hair dryer, a TV-DVD set and more. ADSL internet connection is available and included in the price. The apartment is air-conditioned.
With its very reasonable rates, we believe you can hardly find a better rental than Al Parco for your stay in Bologna. Inquire now! We look forward to having you over.

We stayed for 5 days in July 2009 and were totally impressed with this condo. The size of the rooms was very large and everything seemed recently renovated. The outside terrace ran the length of the condo, making it also very spacious. The condo was situated in what appears to be a recently built development. The landscaping also seems recent. Outdoor parking was gated, very secure. We used the condo as a springboard for day trips to Florence, Venice, etc., and of course Bologna. In Bologna, all interesting spots were a short bus ride away, very convenient. The owner, Paola, was very welcoming and helpful. She even provided complimentary bus tickets, bottle of wine/beer, fruit baskets....WOW! A North American style supermarket is a 5 min walk away. Overall our family was extremely satisfied and would definitely return next time we’re in Italy. Grazie Paola.

Wonderful Bologna apartment
Wonderful Bologna apartment
We found that everything written in the various reviews was absolutely correct. It was an attractive, convenient rental that really was "a home away from home". Paola had thought of many ways to welcome her guests from delicious homemade panna cotta to the wine and beer and bread and jam which awaited us. If there was an award for "Best Home Away Hosts" these folks would win in a moment. Ken even took our mobile phone and was able to get it working for us after trips to the provider and to a techie. We truly appreciated everything and can unreservedly recommend this property. Ann and David (Alamo, CA USA)

We just returned from 3 weeks in this apartment. All that you read that is positive is true. Great owners, great location, very neat and clean and well furnished. We drove from here for day and overnight trips as well as taking the train to Rome. Very handy location. We greatly appreciate the dessert Paola made for our welcome. She also changed our sheets and brought new towels while we were out one day. Everything, grocery store, bank, train station, and a couple good restaurants are in easy walk from here. We recommend Snoppy 2 for a quick easy dinner that is affordable. Also the Sushi place by the bank was great. Koko's across street is ok if you have a big appetite as it is a huge Chinese buffet. Apartment is in a very safe location. We walked all the time in the evenings and down into the old city.(about 30 min walk) and never felt threatened in any way. This is a family neighborhood. Evidenced by all the kids in the park in the evenings. However, apartment is very quite when doors are closed. No outside noise. We enjoyed eating dinner and breakfast on the patio every day. Would highly recommend this apartment if you are coming to this area. My only advice is to put the address of 119, not 24 into your GPS. Our GPS kept coming up with a building down the street and got us lost on the way here. Took us over an hour to find it. When I used the address of the Chinese restaurant (Kokos wok) of 119, it brought us right to the driveway to the apartment as it is directly across the street. Would highly recommend having a GPS if you come here.

Owner response: Thank you very much, Medardo.I am very pleased you had a good time! You have certainly seen a lot and walked around a lot -15 minutes to the center and 20-25 to Piazza Maggiore. After your experience with your GPS I will make sure to tell future guests to keep an eye out for number 119. Modern technology is not always reliable! I hope to see you again.

We stayed here for almost three weeks. This was our first rental (we have since also rented in Rome) and we were so pleased. When we arrived Paola greeted us and gave us a full tour. There was everything you could need in the apartment (shampoo, soap, lotion, laundry soap, even q-tips, food items like oil, vinegar, spices, coffee, tea...). The place was spacious, clean, comfortable and we instantly felt at home. With so many reviews about her tasty pannacotta, Paola won't be able to rent this apartment out without this tasty dessert! It was so nice to have a park next door, more for the fact you were not looking at another building when out on the terrace but a beautiful, sunny, open area. There was a grocery store 2 minute walk away, a family restaurant (Snoopy 2) just across the street which I highly recommend and a higher class restaurant (Papa Re) 5 minutes away. Train and main bus station was 15 minute walk away, 5 minutes more to the heart of the city which I loved walking around. Bologna itself is very centrally located train-wise - easy to get trains to Milano, Venezia, Firenze, Pisa, and many other cities. It is also very close to Ferrari, Lamborghini and Ducati museum/factories. There was no printer at the apartment but I emailed Paola and Ken and they printed off what we needed and dropped it off the next day. We really could not have been happier. To Paola and Ken, Thank you! Grazie mille!

This is a well located flat, in a quiet residential area, close to a park, a supermarket, restaurants and bus stops. We walked to the station (15mins) and caught trains to Ravenna and Ferrara for great day trips. We also walked into the town centre, about 30 mins, and the frequent buses (stop almost straight outside) take 5-10. The flat is very clean, well furnished, and extremely well equipped. No need to buy dishwasher tablets or oil or other useful items. The owner prepares the flat for her guests with care and attention to detail. For example, she gave us practical advice, booked a taxi for us and provided all we needed to make breakfast, with wine and an excellent dessert. For us the best part was relaxing and eating on the large terrace, enjoying the spring sunshine. This is a comfortable, high quality apartment, and we hope to return.

Owner response: Thank you very much, Ann. We are very pleased you had a great time, both relaxing on the terrace and sightseeing. You certainly took some walks, both to the station where the historic center starts and as far as Piazza Maggiore. We hope to see you again too!

A warm welcome from Paola was the prelude to warm and comfortable week in her spacious flat, well provided with every amenity, as accurately described on this website. There was a useful and well stocked supermarket and several places to eat nearby, with many more in the city centre. The flat was perfectly located both for easy access to the historic centre of Bologna (a short bus-ride) and to the Bologna Fiera complex (10 minutes walk) where my daughter was attending the Children's Book Fair. The free wifi internet connection at the flat made it easy for my daughter to communicate with colleagues, and for us all to check travel arrangements. The railway station is close for visits to a variety of locations throughout Emilia-Romagna or the Veneto. We visited Florence, a mere half-hour journey on the high speed train. The ancient buildings and beautiful art available to see in Bologna itself and wider afield, then coming back to our 'home from home' at Al Parco made for a memorable and enjoyable stay, made all the better by Paola's care and attention to detail (greeting new guests with wine and a tasty pannacotta). I would certainly recommend Paola's flat both for family holidays or business trips. Thanks for a great stay, Paola!

Great for 2 Couples!
Great for 2 Couples!
The listing description was very accurate about this attractive apartment. When we arrived, Paola was there to meet us, and give us a walk-through about how things worked. She also graciously provided us with a Bologna bus pass and a great Italian dessert! The bus stop was just outside the building and that bus takes you to the train station and the center of the city. It couldn't have been more convenient. We 2 couples spent 3 weeks in November and were blessed with sunny weather most days. We were able to make day trips via rail to Verona, Venice, Florence, Modena, Ferrara, Ravenna and Padua. And of course we spent many days exploring the beauties of Bologna! There were 2 large grocery stores within easy walking distance, so we were able to keep well stocked with food. Our favorite restaurant within walking distance was Trattoria Papa Re, at Piazza dell'Unita, 6. Paola was always helpful, even pre-ordering our taxi for the crack of dawn ride to the airport. The apartment was clean, well-maintained, nicely decorated, and well stocked with English- language books. What more can you ask for? I would heartily recommend this vacation rental!

I cannot express how happy we were with this rental. You always have that nagging feeling when you rent a private home...can it be as good as it seems? Well, in this case, YES, it is better than that. When you arrive the owner greets you and gives you a full tour, not leaving out any details about each of the rooms. She has everything you could need in the apartment and the place is clean and very comfortable. You will feel at home instantly. The dessert that she makes for you and leaves in the fridge is such a wonderful touch and was very tasty! I have no hesitation in recommending this rental. It is a quick 10-15 minute walk to the train station, and another 5 minutes to the start of the downtown arcades. A large western style grocery store across the street. Could not have been happier. Thank you!

The Best Apartment
The Best Apartment
This must be the best property we have rented for vacation. It is even better than the internet description in that it has everything, including very good free wifi. The cleanliness and attention to detail is terrific. We were very comfortable both inside the apartment and on the large terrace. Everything has been thought of including many items (e.g. shampoo, dishwasher tablets etc) that one does not expect. The car parking and the apartment block are extremely secure and very convenient to shops, and regular buses serve the city centre and train station from just outside the apartment building. One supermarket is within walking distance and another is just a few minutes drive away. On our arrival, the owner couldn't have been more helpful and we came to regard her as a friend. The property is immaculate and we would certainly recommend to friends. We are already planning our next vacation in it. The restaurant across the street produces some lovely dishes and is also friendly. There were also some excellent notes on restaurants etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay and exploration of this area of Italy.

Bologna Apartment a Great Base
Bologna Apartment a Great Base
A fantastic apartment! Very clean, well equipped, and a perfect location. We spent 12 days here in May 2011 and besides many days exploring Bologna, we visited Ravenna, San Marino, Parma, Modena, and Ferrara by train. Florence and Milan are also only 1 hour away by train. Paola was a gracious and charming host and speaks flawless English. We have rented countless apartments and homes for many years and this is our very favorite. We heartily recommend Paola's apartment to anyone visiting Bologna.

About the owner: We are a married couple - a teacher of English and a physicist - with two daughters and living in the immediate outskirts of Bologna. We like meeting new people and keep in touch, that's why we began renting out our property.
Why the Owner Chose Bologna:
We found this a perfect location - the center is an easy walking distance and so are the station and the fairground. Right in front the mall with the fitness facility and the pool (plus a good pizzeria!) makes this corner of town a really enjoyable one. Plus, of course, the park, a great bonus in the Spring, Summer and Fall both if one has children or not. Finally, the place is colorful and safe, lively yet quiet, especially at night.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
Comfort is number one - nice, good quality furniture (some antiques), large spaces, a great terrace. Convenience of the location follows - we are at a stone's throw from everything, you can walk or take the bus, all is there in a few minutes. No fixed changeover day, schedule your stay for any period you want. Last but not least - functionality. Everything in the house is brand new and thoroughly checked before each rental.
