Staying on Balboa Island on the Grand Canal is the place! Beautifully decorated in beach theme, this charming cottage sits on the Grand Canal (that separates the big island from the little island, on Balboa Island.)
Large open living room is perfect with a big flat screen TV and DVD player and a cozy fireplace. Beautiful master bedroom with 1/2 bath and flat screen TV. Full bathroom with new tub and shower next to downstairs bedroom. Free standing shower with outside entrance on first floor makes coming from the beach a perfect welcome to your cottage. Big outside patio in front of your private dock with gas BBQ makes for a great entertainment area.
Great for fishing and perfect for kayaking and surfing! Don't worry about things to do, because you are only steps away from the main street which offers many shops, restaurants and a local grocery store. Ride your bikes to the ferry and you are on the Balboa Peninsula and have the ocean and “Fun Zone” to explore.

- This 80 year old cottage is in perfect condition with all new furniture and contents! Sits on the canal with a dock and beautiful view. Directly behind all the shops and restaurants. Walk everywhere or ride your bikes! 1 full bath (with tub and shower), another separate shower with outside door and master has 1/2 bath. Q sofa in the living room can sleep 2. Twin XL beds in the downstairs bedroom and King in the upstairs master. All brand new!

We live only 2o minutes away and use the cottage often! That is why we keep it so perfect for our guests. Our love for Balboa in its people! We have made many great friends over the years and you will feel like it is your home even if you are only there a week. We are open to loan you are kayaks and hope you will enjoy our cottage as much as we do! So many of our guests have returned for a second and even third visit.

The Unique Benefits of this House
There really no place like being on the canal! The sidewalks are so inviting. The patio area is perfect for a family BBQ...the dock is great for reading. If you need some shopping time, you are just steps away! The main street is directly behind the cottage. Starbucks is on the corner next to many great eateries! The local island grocery store is cute and has all your last minute food for cooking or you can walk across the bridge to a larger market.
Lastly, you can take the ferry across to the sandy beaches of Newport! You will want to come back again and again!

(from my book) I grew up in LA and my family for 20 years! Staying here, in your lovely home brought back many memories. I remember water skiing in the back bay, walking down Marine Ave, and eating frozen bananas at Dad's! I also remember when the ferries wheel cost a dime! Your home is so beautiful. We had a couple of days of rain and thoroughly enjoyed reading our books in the front room with the fireplace and looking out on the canal. Thanks so much for sharing your home!

Thanks for a wonderful spring break stay! We all enjoyed your cute house in this fabulous area. A great escape not to far from home but seems very different like we went on a plane to get here! I have stayed in this darling cottage 4 times! I just love the feel and location! The beds are comfortable and the cottage is super clean! We loved walking on the Island and havng our meals on the patio! Can't wait to return.
