The Coaster is a popular train that runs between Downtown San Diego and Oceanside with stops in Little Italy, Old Town, Solana Beach, Encinitas and Carlsbad. The closest station is a 5-minute drive or a 12-minute walk from the beach house. If you're headed to the Del Mar Races, the coaster takes you to the Solana Beach station where the red Double Decker bus delivers you right to the main entrance of the track.
Legoland is a quick 10 minute drive north and the posh town of La Jolla is 10 minutes south. You don't even have to get on the freeway! Why the Owner Chose Encinitas
I bought this home because of my love of the ocean. Swimming during the summer is one of the highlights of Moonlight Beach. The water sometimes gets as warm as 75 and hovers most of the time around 68 in the summer. Being able to just walk down for a quick one is just heaven. I added Casa de Moonlight in 2009 because I wanted to share this lovely spot with others who love the beach!
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment
This property is like a tree house in that it is surrounded by windows allowing visitors to enjoy sunrises AND sunsets.
The Farmers Market is on Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm with fresh fish, veggies, tamales, flowers and lots of crafts. WholeFoods market is coming to town really soon, but the exact date is yet to be announced.
If you are a surfer, some of the best surf spots in the world are just down the street, and walk to town for dinner, can't get much better. Location, Location, Location...

Dear Terri, Sadly our wonderful beach vacation has come to and end. The bright side...we will be back, that's if you will have us! Thank you for making this a very special visit the week after the birth of our grand baby Luke, extra special. We felt like it was a home away from home. So we left a blizzard in Montana t enjoy warm sunny beaches in California. Wouldn't you know that while here, Julian had it's 1st snow day of the winter season! But, while there , enjoyed GREAT pie-who knew. We had a great time walking the beaches and surf barefooted, along with many local points of interest. And after long days coming "home" to enjoy this very classy retreat. It's so well put together for such a small space- amazing and very homey. We had a great time, hope to come back and we will recommend casa de moonlight to others.Thanks, Terri

Rob and i are sitting here in Casa de Moonlight on our last evening in town marveling at how quickly our week has passed, and how easy it was to slip into a routine that felt like home here. We have plans to move to SD in the hopefully not so distant future. After spending the week here, we are more than motivated to make it happen. The ease of getting to Moonlight Beach and to downtown Encinitas was such a pleasure. We came here for a friends wedding and then to surf, and this location was perfect for both. Being a contractor's daughter, I have an appreciation for architectural details and fine finish work-the work and craftsmanship in this place is amazing!!!!! For such a small space, it is so well thought out and so cozy. Having the full kitchen here made keeping to a budget easy since we are able to cook most of our meals here. All of the thoughtful details-like beach towels in a beach bag- are so very appreciated! Everything about this apartment has been wonderful. Thank you for helping to make our week together here so easy and enjoyable, We have enjoyed ourselves more than words can say.

A week at Casa de Moonlight was so relaxing and enjoyable that my husband and I are already plotting our next visit! You can easily walk to the beach from this location, and the neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. The cottage is brand new and beautifully appointed, and the owner was very kind to us. The patio with bbq grill was a nice bonus, as were the beach chairs, umbrella, towels and boogey board. Thank you. We'll be back!

My husband and I just returned from spending a month in this wonderful Encinitas cottage. The location is perfect - walking distance to the beach, tennis, and restaurants and shops. The apartment is charming, bright and sunny, with a large private patio and the owner has furnished it beautifully. . We have already booked for next year!

Casa de Moonlight delivered everything that was promised and more. Both the interior and exterior were designed for relaxtion. The cottage was clean, beautifully decorated and comfortable. Having flown, the extras such as beach chairs, umbrella and beach towels were much appreciated as we were limited in luggage space. The easy access by foot or car to restaurants and the beach lended to the relaxing atmosphere. We filled our days watching surfers, hiking at Torrey Pines State Park, and enjoying the beautiful sunsets with dolphins swimming across the horizon. Wish we could have stayed forever!!
