Absolutely stunning lake views from this very peaceful 2 level lakefront home. Lake of the Woods is located 60 miles from Washington, D.C., halfway between historic Fredericksburg and Culpeper, Va. on Route #3. This lakefront home is situated in an exclusive gated golf resort community.
It is perfect for a romantic get-away; a relaxing retreat for entertaining family and friends; perfect for reunions and fun vacations. This house has over 3000 sq. ft. per level, is located on a private cul-de-sac, and has driveway parking for 6-8 vehicles. The main level includes kitchen with wet bar, great room with wood burning fireplace, 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and a separate dining room. The lower level includes a second kitchen, large recreation room, 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths.
The kitchen has beautiful corian countertops, and opens to a 36' great room complete with wet bar, wood burning fireplace, and separate dining area. An expansive deck runs the full length of the house, including a 12' by 36' screened porch with variable speed ceiling fans. It's a great place to enjoy drinks and serve lunch or supper to your guests.
The rear of the house is all glass (sliding glass doors) and all rooms have panoramic views of the Lake. The home has an exclusive private dock for swimming (life jackets provided), fishing (rods provided), kayaking, pedal boating and canoeing.
Lake of the Woods amenities: private PGA 18 hole golf course, swimming, boating, fishing, horseback riding, sandy beaches, tennis, sailing, horseshoes, volleyball, basketball, fitness center and fine dining at the clubhouse. The clubhouse is just 1/2 mile away and offers wonderful cuisine at reasonable prices. It has a bar, grill room and formal dining room and a large deck overlooking the Lake. The prime rib, shrimp and grits and the Jack Daniels burger are all popular items on the menu. Additional restaurants can be found in Fredericksburg and Culpeper.
The house has a large dock area for sunbathing, fishing, swimming, canoeing, pedal boating, kayaking, or just lounging around on floats in the water. This vacation rental home was amazing! This is our 18th consecutive year of vacationing with our extended family. In that time we have only repeated one location once. And of all the places we have stayed in our 18 years, this was by far the most perfect. The description online looked and sounded wonderful so we were very hopeful! But I must say that the actual home even exceeded all of our expectations! The house was large and very accommodating for our group of 12 (11 adults and a 1-year old) with many large family spaces that we simply fell in love with - especially the screened in porch! Access to the beautiful lake was great and made coming and going for minutes or hours so easy. The rental arrangements were taken care of efficiently and professionally. Thank you so much for sharing your home with others. We will always have good memories of our time there and hope to be able to return soon!
Recommended for:Tourists without a car, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.
