Great Location! The condo is located in the heart of the entertainment area. It is a very short walk to all of the bars and clubs on Fields Avenue. Some of the bars are right across the street and the biggest bar in Angeles (Shano’s Irish Pub) is on the first floor of the building.
Condo Description: Condo #24 is 66 square meters or 710 square feet (not including the balcony) and it is on the third floor on the backside of the building, providing peace and quiet. The condo and all items inside were bought new in September 2008. It is furnished with custom-made wood furniture and all tile floors. From the balcony, you have a view of a volcano and the pool at the Pacific Breeze Hotel. The condo is connected to the Wild Orchid Resort by an internal passageway. The condo has both 110v and 220v outlets and there is a back-up generator for power outages. You can even run both air conditioners when running off the generator that supplies the entire building.
Living Room: The walls are custom hand painted. The sofas are all black, genuine leather, imported straight from Italy. Both sofas and the chair fully recline. There is a 42” Toshiba LCD TV and Pioneer DVD player with a 6-speaker pioneer surround sound system with a collection of DVD movies.
Kitchen: The kitchen counter is made of imported granite. The appliances consist of a stove with 4 burners and hood, sink, refrigerator, microwave, water cooler, toaster oven, rice cooker, toaster, coffee pot, blender, cordless kettle, pressure cooker, crock pot, and egg beater. There are also pots and pans, plates, bowls, glasses, cups, silverware, knife set, and other utensils.
Bedroom: The walls are custom hand painted. There is a king size bed with a 35,000 peso luxury orthopedic mattress. There is also a wall closet, dressor with mirror, and night stands. Secured to the wall inside the closet is a sentry safe. The safe is big enough for a laptop (inside dim 10”L x 17”W x 13”D). The bedroom has a 42” Toshiba LCD TV, Pioneer DVD player, iron, and ironing board. The black-out curtains are custom hand made.
Bathroom: Full size, American-type full washer and dryer are located in the bathroom. The shower, sink, and washer all have both hot and cold water. The glass shower doors are hand painted, etched, and frosted (non-transparent).
Balcony: There is a plastic table with two chairs. Also, two clothes racks to dry clothes if you choose not to use the dryer.
Security: The building has 24/7 security. There are at least two guards on duty at any one time. I personally have never locked the balcony door. Security will not let anyone go to your condo unless they call you and get approval from you. You can make arrangements with security to let certain people come and go as they please. Security is there for you. The front door has 3 locks. One of the locks is keyed on both sides and if you decide to lock it, then it will be impossible for anyone to exit the condo unless they have the key. Another lock has a special key that cannot be copied. If you lose that key, it will cost about 2,000 pesos to replace that lock.
Computer: The computer is a HP dual CPU E2200 @ 2.2 GHZ with genuine Windows Vista Home and Office 2007 Home. It has a HP 19” LCD monitor, HP DeskJet (color printer, scanner, and copier), web cam, and headset with microphone. The building has two separate high speed Internet feeds (cable and phone) so if one goes down, then the backup is switched on. The computer is also protected by an APC UPS battery back-up for the couple of minutes from when the power goes out to when the generator comes on line.
Wild Orchid Resort: The condo is connected to the Wild Orchid Resort by an internal passageway. The Wild Orchid Resort swimming pool, the largest swimming pool in town, is free for you and your guests. The pool has a wet bar and is open 24/7 except during treatment. There is also a restaurant, bar, travel agency, poker room, pool table, and money exchange.
Telephone: The internal phone in the room can be used to call security, the office, and room service. It cannot be used to make local or long distance calls. It is much cheaper to use Yahoo Messenger or Skype on the computer for long distance calls. For local calls, you are going to find out that everyone sends text messages by cell phone. New cell phones start at 1,800 pesos and prepaid sim cards are about 200 pesos. Text messages cost 1 peso per message or unlimited text cost 20 pesos per day.
Maid Service: Maid service is included in the rates. For stays of 4 nights or less, maid service is provided daily. For stays of 5 nights or more, maid service is provided 2 days per week.
Other: 24 hour room service is available from the Wild Orchid Resort and Shano’s Irish Pub, menus are in the room. The condo has one king size bed that sleeps 3 people comfortably. An extra complete set of linens is stored in the rental office if you need them. The building has two full-time maintenance personnel to fix any problems that might arise, they will even change light bulbs. The building has an elevator so the condo is handicap accessible but the condo and bathroom have not been modified. There is not any extra charges for guest or visitors.
Getting there: If you are arriving in Manila and want to go directly to Angeles City, then I can recommend the private car hire offered by the Wild Orchid Resort. They will be waiting for you at the airport and take you directly to the condo. The cost is 2,700 pesos one way. You can make arrangements from their website. If you are staying in Manila, then you might want to consider the Swagman Hotel as they have free airport pick-up and they provide daily private door-to-door bus service to and from Angeles City.
