Top Outside Corner on Beach - Sunrise on Gulf at Ocean's Reach
- Minimum stay:4 nights
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:Yes
This condo is a top floor, outside corner unit that face the open Gulf and down the beach for five miles. You can see the lights of Fort Myers at night to the left. In the morning, from your king size bed, you can see the sunrise out of the water like a big red ball. The location is the best for the views of Sanibel and the Gulf. The complex is all new after hurricane Charley. The landscaping, the pool, even the street coming in are all replaced. The flowers, the picnic area, as well as the palm tree lined driveway as you come in reflect the quiet beauty of Sanibel. We have a tennis court, beachside swimming pool, bikes on site for rent, shuffleboard, basketball, wireless Internet and a well lighted picnic area with gas grills, tables, and palm tree lighting to add ambiance to you picnic. Golf is nearby with a public course, Beachview and right off island, Shellpoint. Enjoy.
Golf and biking are big sports on Sanibel. : If you want golf, the Beachview Golf course is a public course that is very close and popular here. Off- island there are many golf courses close by. On the islands there are miles of bike paths and at our complex and you can rent bikes for the week. You see a variety of kinds of bicycles from the bicycle built for two to the surrey with the fringe on top. People are going daily to look at the spots of the Island as the Light House, the east end with their little shops, the Beautiful Ding Darling preserve and also the lovely homes that dot the island. Right here at Ocean's Reach you can play tennis, swim, walk on the beach, go shelling, search for treasure, kayak, fish. We were watching the fisherman bring their bait by kayak and fish from shore. The high point of every day is sunset here as people gather to talk with new friends and toast the evening sun. When you wake up at 7:00 sit on your lanai and watch the sunrise. In this unit you can see this from your bed.
Boating: There are wonderful boat rides with Captiva Cruises. The one to Useppa leaves from Jensens Marina on Captiva for the day. You have lunch at Useppa Island at the Old Collier Inn. This Island is kept like 'Old Florida with the white homes and lattice work porches. They are on a pink path leading up to the Collier Inn. It was completely refurbished after Hurricane Charley. This Island was home to the movie stars in the 20s. It is landscaped so beautifully.
The boat ride is also great as they give you an idea of the history of the Islands and the dolphins follow the boat while jumping. It is very exciting to see a whole group of people clapping to get the dolphins to jump. There are other fishing trips from Grandma Dots or the Sanibel Marina with plenty of fish to be caught. There is also a morning cruise for Breakfast that is really charming. You really can find plenty to do. Ft. Myers has the Barbara Mann Theatre that offers current plays and musicals.

From the moment we walked in the door we felt we never wanted to leave. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The only thing we thought this condo needed was some new pillows in the master bedroom. Our favorite activity was sitting on the lanai watching the sunrise, eating breakfast, watching the surf, the birds, the sunset and watching the moon rise over the gulf. We really didn't want to leave. The sense of peace and tranquility was fantastic. The owners did a great job decorating and the condo is even more beautiful in person. We would highly recommend staying at Oceans Reach to all of our friends and relatives. Hopefully, there will be a week open for us when we return to Sanibel Island next time.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Thanks for all the care with which you "outfitted" 1D4 so that we were able to relax and recoup. All the niceties helped Tremendously but what we most appreciated was how the unit echoed the beauty of its surroundings so that we could still enjoy the beach when the weather made it difficult to go out. We hope to meet you one day to thank you both in person. With much appreciation.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The condo was exceptional with all the views as advertised. Clean, well decorated with all the amenities to make for a great stay. We enjoyed our stay at the Ocean's Reach, great resort and the beach was just a few steps away. The location was close to shopping and restaurants and nature attractions. We would stay again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

What a glorious week. Nothing but hot sun, sand and beautiful water... a much needed respite from cold, dreary New York! The sunrise over the Gulf was the cherry on this luscious cake. We so enjoyed our week of swimming, shelling, biking to breakfast and just plain rejuvenating. Thank-you! Steve, Susan, Victoria and AlexDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We stayed the first week of October. The owners and on-site management were a pleasure to work with. This was our first time on Sanibel. We were looking for a two bedroom/two bath in a small to medium sized complex (no crowds at the pool), on the beach, with a good view from the balcony. The condo itself is all it is advertised: tastefully decorated, wireless internet, large televisions, DVD player wireless internet and all the appliances and dishes. The view for morning coffee is wonderful! The complex is VERY well maintained and has all the amenities: tennis court, shuffleboard court, basketball goal, picnic area with grills and a swimming pool in the right location to get the sun. We were pleasantly surprised to see that our location was also convenient to eateries and shops! If you are looking for a nice condo in a nice complex, that is well managed ... this is it. No drama ... relax and hear the waves as you look over the beach and the water.Owner response: 1D4 is the end unit on the top floor and does have a wonderful view of the beach for 5 miles. The shellers and morning sunrise people are out picking up shells or taking pictures of the wonderful sunrise. Enjoy this while having your morning coffee on the lanai. The restaurants are close by and also boat rides are available to the other islands. Many little shops and a theatre for plays are also here. In winter, the movies ( 1 mile away) play the Academy Award nominations and we discuss them at the pool. Enjoy the natural beauty of Sanibel and the beach.

We enjoyed our return to Sanibel - and had fabulous weather all week. Lovely sunrises, great shelling, enjoyed walking on the beach and seeing dolphins, manatees and pelicans from our seats on the beach. Especially enjoyed swimming in the ocean with a dolphin! We enjoyed moonlit nights with a full moon that week and flying the stunt kite on the beach. Thank-you for letting us stay in your beautiful oceanfront condo!Did you find this review helpful? We've had a wonderful time here--loved our time on the beach: shelling, sunning, and fishing. Even shelled one night under the full moonlight. Memorable moments. CarolOwner response: When you look out the window and it is dark outside here at Ocean's Reach, 1D4, you will see people on the beach with flashlights. If it is low tide, even at 2 in the morning, people are out there with their flashlights looking for a special shell. After high winds or a storm, many new beautiful shells wash in. Sanibel is an East-West island and therefore it catches many shells and is one of the 10 best beaches in the world for shelling. We have lamps made from shells we have picked up on the beach. Enjoy the beauty of Sanibel.

This was our first trip to Sanibel. We thoroughly enjoyed your condo with it's spectacular views. We found some shells on the beach--don't know what to do with all of them. We had a great time and enjoyed every minute. the Lord has blessed this trip for us and now it's time to go. Thanks again. David and Tammy Toccoa, GeorgiaOwner response: Enjoy the beauty of Sanibel with the sunrise every morning while sitting on the lanai on comfortably padded dining set or chaise lounge. Walk out of the beach in winter to see the marvelous sunset. People are looking for the green flash. The condo is well equipped with beach chairs, and bikes for rent on site. Enjoy also the boat trips to Useppa or Pine Island for lunch.

Perfect View --especially the sunrise. Great condo. We appreciate your efforts. Wonderful weather. Wonderful week - No Crowds which permitted time to relax. And then relax some more. Until.... The Mama Dolphin and her baby came in - multiple times - swimming and playing within two feet of us...... All of this makes us realize we have been wasting our time in Myrtle beach for many years.
