From the sensual experience of the softly warmed floor heating to the spruce covered cathedral ceiling, the new masterfully designed cabin will give you a feeling of never wanting to leave. Whether walking across the "old world" style paved patio or kicking back in the relaxing sitting area on the front covered porch, you are going to love this place.
Watch the glowing sunset filter through the gigantic pine trees, take a hike through the juniper forest surrounding the new cabin, all of you are going to enjoy every moment of your visit. Soak up the sun on the south facing patio and check out the huge granite boulders while you barbeque steaks on the gas grill. Share a glass of wine with your best friends while enjoying unheard of peace, quiet and relaxation, right here in Southern California.
We know it is hard to believe this kind of magic still exists here in Southern California. Listen and all you can hear is the wind moving through those incredible smelling pine trees. Sled down the hills in the winter. Do like many of our guests... hike down the pine needle covered trails with your lover in the summer, take romantic moonlit snowshoe walks with them in the winter, and as time passes share those same trails with your kids in this beautiful cabin, everything is right about this little piece of heaven we have to offer you.
This cabin is located on 2.5 acres of its own land on our private 55 acre Cienaga Creek Ranch - no other buildings within sight! It is in a very private and secluded setting, with extraordinarily beautiful views of the woods.
Open the eight foot tall arched front door and take in the breathtaking downstairs great room with high vaulted ceilings and huge picture windows framing in an incredible view. Snuggle up in the luxurious down filled leather sectional while watching the flames dance in the soft warmth of the soapstone stove.
The gourmet kitchen has a huge granite island with built in cook top and second sink that will delight even the most discriminating chef. A large side-by-side refrigerator, built in oven, microwave, and dishwasher rounded out by the granite countertops and oak cabinets making this kitchen beautiful and very functional for cooking for a large group.
There are two bedrooms downstairs - one with four poster canopy king bed, the other with a four poster queen. An incredible bathroom awaits your delight with a huge elegant travertine shower & frameless glass surround. Double shower heads and double sinks make for the best bath.
Upstairs you will enjoy a private master suite with king bed, two opening skylights and an antique claw foot tub. The master bath has the same incredible design as the downstairs bath. An open loft area has accommodations for four more guests. Every bedroom has a flat screen TV with DVD player. In addition, a huge flat screen TV/DVD player is located in the living room area.
The game room, with pool table, will provide hours of entertainment for your group. This home offers a wonderful retreat for just a couple, or your family and friends gathered to celebrate a holiday or special event!

A beautiful secluded cabin in the woods, luxurious without being overstated, warm and generous hosts -- a perfect opportunity to get away from it all. We spent a winter weekend here and EVERYONE was happy. The twelve and fourteeners spent hours building a fast moving sledding run complete with jumps. Ziplining too!!!! Grandpa loved the hiking, exploring, early morning bird watching, board games and shooting pool with the grandkids. The kitchen was open and airy, everyone wanted to cook! And our German Shephard has never been happier. Free to roam and welcomed with dog biscuits as we humans were treated to freshly baked cinnamon rolls upon arrival. No TV, no Internet, no cell service, and NOT A SINGLE COMPLAINT from anyone. Plenty to do, looking forward to returning soon. Back home tonight in San Diego and the kids asking "What happened to all of the stars?";) A beautiful setting to reconnect in. Looking forward to a return trip!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We absolutely loved this property and home. It was much nicer then we expected. The kitchen we well stocked with all the items we needed to cook with. This home even has a BBQ, perfect to grill hamburgers, steaks, etc. The decor was very nice and cozy. There is a large patio on the side of the home with a beautiful view of the snowy mountains. It was so nice to sit in the sun (with jackets) and enjoy the mountain air. Another fun treat was the pool table and couches in the garage. We liked being able to go in and enjoy a few games of pool while the kids enjoyed a movie in the living room. The large showers are a very nice touch as well. They have shampoo, conditioner and soap right in the shower for you and plenty of towels. The last things I want to mention is the heated floors, the wood burning fireplace and plenty of wood to keep us warm. Can't wait to return. Thanks Scott and VickieOwner response: Thank you, Cris! So glad you enjoyed your stay!

My kids brought me to your lovely home to celebrate my 60th birthday. The rooms were the perfect size for all four of my grandchildren to dance and play. Fresh coffee was a pleasant addition. This home is well-equipped, comfortable and cozy. Loved sharing it. The weather was perfect mountain weather - rain, wind and snow Beautiful! I look forward to returning in the summer with my two dogs who would love the terrain.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our extended family of 9 really enjoyed spending Thanksgiving in your beautiful, breathtaking cabin. You have done such a lovely job with its luxury and homelike feeling, therefore we ALL were able to experience a lovely, memorable Thanksgiving. We enjoyed hearing the African lions roar and to top off the vacation, we woke upon our last morning to see it snowing! We definitely will be back!Did you find this review helpful? Owner info
Year Purchased: 1991
About the owner: Cienaga Creek Ranch is a private guest ranch, owned, built and operated by Scott and Vickie Wilson and their family. Five small cottages and 2 larger homes offer a wilderness experience not found elsewhere in the San Bernardino National Forest. Juniper Ridge, the home featured here, was built in 2008, by the Wilson family, and offers an amazing opportunity to vacation in the wilderness with luxurious accommodations.
Why the Owner Chose Big Bear City:
Cienaga Creek Ranch is located in a small area of privately owned land, surrounded by national forest. We moved here in 1991 with our four sons. We lived in the one structure (now our Ironwood Lodge) while we built our home. After moving into our home, we remodeled the cottage and began renting it out to people who were longing for a few days of peace and solitude. We built three more cottages, acquired a fifth, then built the larger home, Juniper Ridge.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Cienaga Creek Ranch relies 100% on solar power - far from electric lines - yet affords all the luxuries you are accustomed to. Close enough to town to dine at Big Bear's fine restaurants, yet far enough away to be completely secluded and away from the crowds!
