As lovely as the photos on the site, with perks that photos can't capture such as stepping onto the sand from a great deck, a beautiful spot to watch the sunset, and a beach front less traveled than most. Windows all around made for wonderful views and a modern feel - and everyone in your party must experience a night in the upstairs master bedroom. More than enough room for 6 old friends to sleep comfortably, and many high end amenities (televisions, stereo, stove/oven, automatic blinds, etc.) Spotless, well-kept, with plenty of linens/towels. The owner and property manager were prompt and helpful with every inquiry. Nearby casual restaurants within walking distance, but I would have been happy never leaving this house and surrounding beach! We will most certainly be back.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family met my brothers family here to vacation with our little ones. The house fit 4 adults and 4 small kids (ages 1 1/2 to 4) comfortably and served as a perfect layout and location for our stay. There are 3 regular bedrooms all on the 2nd floor, and we all stayed up because our kids are so small. However there was a walk-in closet that we used for an extra "bedroom" for one of the smaller kids in a crib and there was a futon on the second floor that we moved into the master for one of the older kids so it all worked out great. Note: the basement wasn't really a bedroom with a door, but had a murphy bed we could have used if our kids had been older. The main floor is where we spent the majority of our time and the views were simply spectacular with the full wall of windows. The kitchen is stocked well enough that we cooked in for most of our stay and the house was literally on the beach which helped as a "babysitter" for 4 very active children. We also rented a crib/toys/highchair from a service in Santa Barbara and the cleaning crew met them to allow them in and out to make our stay seamless. One recommendation, better sun chairs (even if cheap) that are more comfortable than those the house supplied would have been great.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: The house has 8 beach chairs with cushions in the garage. We have lost a few when they were left outside overnight

We have stayed at this house three times and we love it! It is beautiful, well-appointed and the location cannot be beat. The house is even better than the pictures! The master bedroom is a dream--with floor to ceiling windows. The downstairs bedroom is perfect for teenagers--they can have a little space and it has its own television and game tables. The living room and dining room have spectacular views -- again floor to ceiling windows and a balcony with stairs down to the beach. The kitchen is a cook's delight--large, great oven and stove and plenty of room! There are lovely touches -- such as the wine refrigerator and CD player. The owner is very accomodating and answers all questions promptly. We will definitely go back!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My wife and I brought our children (now 18, 16, 10) here over four years ago and several times in between. This home is as nice today as the very first day we rented it from Naj many years ago. The location is amazing as are the homeowner and management (Ben). To suggest that the pictures do justice is an injustice in itself. We have been delighted to share our vacation with many friends and they have all had the same response..."Wow!" You know you have found the “right” place when you wish you had it for your own. The beach is beautiful, the home immaculate, the accommodations second to none and the neighbors just as pleasant. Perhaps the best compliment is that our kids look forward to taking their friends here every year with us. It is a great place to enjoy as a family or equally so as a couple looking for an exquisite get away. We have been here virtually every season and all have been equally enjoyable. Best wishes to all - you won’t be disappointed!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The pictures don’t do justice to this house. It is not a typical beach rental, but a luxury family home - and the ocean front views from most of the house take your breath away. We rented it for a month & had a wonderful time. Many thanks, Naj, we would definitely rent again & maybe next year it will be 2 months. OWNER/RENTAL PROCESS - The owner, Naj was helpful & easy to work with via phone & email. The house was clean and ready for our arrival. The property manager and his wife, Ben and Celia met us, did a walk through and explained all the electronics. They were easy to contact and responsive for any follow up questions. Our security deposit was refunded within One Week. THE HOUSE - Simply amazing–everything we could have hoped for. Clean, comfortable with a fantastic view. The entire main floor is an open living plan with spectacular views and tons of room to spread out. The kitchen is well equipped with top of the line appliances. We did venture out for a few easy day trips to Ojai, Ventura & Santa Barbara, but preferred staying home to enjoy the house and ocean front living. The master bedroom & bath are superb, covering the entire front of the top floor. The other two bedrooms on this floor are smaller & share a full bath, but are nicely appointed. The beds are all newer, very comfortable with nice linens & comforters. One bedroom doubles as an office with a computer & wireless internet. The ground floor is a complete entertainment area with big screen TV, comfortable furniture & full size air hockey & foosball tables (plus sleeper sofa, full size Murphy bed & full bath). The house was equipped with beach chairs, towels & toys, bikes, board games and books. Pretty much everything you need for a great beach vacation was available. There is a garage & driveway for easy parking. THE BEACH - Silverstrand is away from the highway with limited public parking and never crowded - some days you feel like you have it all to yourself. It is a one mile stretch of wide beach – perfect for walks. We saw dolphins, sea lions and the tall ships during our stay. THE NEIGHBORHOOD - The neighbors are friendly. We did a lot of walking in the neighborhood. It is one mile from end to end. There is a local market & several restaurants within walking distance and just a short drive to larger grocery or other shops. Sunday, it is a five minute drive to a Farmer’s Market at Hollywood Beach & you can get fresh fish from the docks for dinner.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Come to find out this beach, the "Silver Strand Beach" is little known gem of a beach. Wide belt of sand, relatively flat, and great surfing waves. We spent most of the 1st day just watching the surfers and kite-surfers tearing it up. The house has an unbelievable view. You might as well be right out there on the beach. Most of the floors are stone tile, which was a little cold at first but you soon realize how much sand comes in from the beach. Recommendation: rent wetsuits from Momentum Ride Shop. The water was 58F but seemed like 80 with a full wetsuit on. $15/day is well worth it. The kids were in the waves for 4-5 hours a day with the suits on.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

However, the house is better than it looks on the listing; it has a wonderful- even spectacular feeling when you are there. Ben and his wife do a great job managing the house. It was very well cleaned and here is a revelation- the beds and furniture are comfortable! Naj, the owner was easy to deal with and thus renting this house was really trouble-free- no worries. We were a group of “mature” high school girl friends who got together for a long weekend to celebrate our 70+ birthdays. The house and location was perfect: walks and chats on the beach, lovely home cooked gourmet dinners prepared in the exceptional kitchen and eaten at the best view “restaurant” table ever. We did walk to "Quincy Street" for brunch; yummy…. The only suggestion for improvement is to have more top quality towels and linens, and a nicer table for the deck. Each of us are hoping to return with our husband first chance we get. Thanks, Naj, it was beyond superb.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Well everyone on the review of this house is correct unreal views of the ocean from the master Ben the manager great guy had it clean and ready to go and met us on time. Naj is a real gentleman great guy to deal with honest trustworthy no BS like some of those rental guys out there just a great vacation. House is amazing very nice people around the house neighbors and such all very nice and a pleasure to be around. Water and temps were perfect this time of year we stayed a few extra days cause it was so enjoyable.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Nothing that we saw on Silverstrand is this nice! Absolutely perfect - from the master bedroom view and furnishings to enjoying the outdoor deck and fire pit at night. I only wish we could stay longer (which we may do next year, because we are going to keep coming back to this one). Clean linens, comfortable beds and furniture, and more than ample kitchen space. No surprises here - just the way it looks in the photos.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Had a fabulous vacation over Christmas and New Years week. The Masterbedroom is very spacious and has a spectacular view of the ocean. Since it is located at a Famous Surf Spot, you get to wake up every morning to an amazing show of Surfers, as if you are watching a Surf Contest. Every night I used I cracked the sliding glass doors open so i could listen to the sound as the ocean and turned on the fireplace. No words can describe how great this was. The layout of the house is awesome and you the second floor is perfect for dining and cooking, as the kitchen looks out to the dining/living room, directly to the beach. We cooked at home the entire vacation because the house was so nice and we could watch the sunset while eating dinner. The kitchen is also great and everything is brand new in perfect shape. We had three children with us, so the game room located downstairs was perfect for them. They were still in range so we could hear them if they needed something, but far enough away to get us some adult time. Definitely my favorite place of all time. I am from Hawaii, so this place exceeded my expectations!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Silver strand beach is not in Hawaii. We at the beach were delighted that our guest Hawaiians enjoyed our California beaches. The surf being one of the best in California is a secret that locals do not want made public. Dining at home with an ocean view has been very popular with guests as was with the Browns who own a chain of restaurants in Hawaii.

We have been coming to Silver stand beach for the last 20 years. It is a quiet ,privae beach with friendly neighbors.The sailboats entering the harbor and the surfers create a picturesque scene.There are a few good small restaurants within walking distance and a full array a sea food restaurants within a short driving distance. Excellent for biking and evening walks to the pier.
