Had a fabulous vacation over Christmas and New Years week. The Masterbedroom is very spacious and has a spectacular view of the ocean. Since it is located at a Famous Surf Spot, you get to wake up every morning to an amazing show of Surfers, as if you are watching a Surf Contest. Every night I used I cracked the sliding glass doors open so i could listen to the sound as the ocean and turned on the fireplace. No words can describe how great this was. The layout of the house is awesome and you the second floor is perfect for dining and cooking, as the kitchen looks out to the dining/living room, directly to the beach. We cooked at home the entire vacation because the house was so nice and we could watch the sunset while eating dinner. The kitchen is also great and everything is brand new in perfect shape. We had three children with us, so the game room located downstairs was perfect for them. They were still in range so we could hear them if they needed something, but far enough away to get us some adult time. Definitely my favorite place of all time. I am from Hawaii, so this place exceeded my expectations!!

Owner response:Silver strand beach is not in Hawaii. We at the beach were delighted that our guest Hawaiians enjoyed our California beaches. The surf being one of the best in California is a secret that locals do not want made public. Dining at home with an ocean view has been very popular with guests as was with the Browns who own a chain of restaurants in Hawaii.

This house is unbelieveable with the top of the line appliances and comfort. Everything is well kept and super clean The owner was available to answer questions as well as the caretaker, Ben. We loved it. We immediately want to rent again next year! If you ever want to leave to eat (which we really didn't want to because the kitchen is so well supplied), but Mrs. Olson's on Hollywood Beach is a quaint place that was voted the best breakfast in the country! But truly, you never have to leave this place, there are so many activities that this house provides (aside from the beautiful view and clean beach), there is an entire floor dedicated to game tables, there are bikes, boogie boards and beach toys. All you need to do is relax and enjoy.

Unlike so many ads for a resort and or a rental house, this home was exactly as depicted in the pictures. The condition of the furnishings and the appliances showed pride of ownership. We would certainly suggest that any family looking for a relaxing and fun-filled time away should seriously consider this home. The beach was never crowded and the views breath-taking. The ocean sports, volley ball and biking lanes made for a wonderful week. We would not recommend any restaurants. The owner "warned" us that eating in was truly the way to go and he was right. A state of the art, fully furnished kitchen, and spectacular vistas kept us pleased and well fed. No restaurant could have offered more. Each night another family member cooked. Great way to be together and experience new menu items. The upstairs master suite was a welcomed escape when the "fun" got to be too much. The owner was a delight to deal with and a veteran. We can't wait to return.

What a truly beautiful home on a beautiful beach! The home was lovlier than the pictures, and so clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated. My family spent the fourth of July week of there, and we had a fabulous time. We BBQed, boogie boarded, watched the fireworks by the harbor, played volleyball, flew kites, made smores in the firepit... The weather was gorgeous, and the beach was bustling with activity. The owner was very easy to work with as was the man that takes care of the house- very friendly and easy going. When we get the chance, we are definitely going back!

The week we spent at this house was amazing – The photos online, although beautiful, don’t capture how remarkable it really is. The wrap-around windows make you feel like you are on the beach even when in the house. You can watch the dolphins and sea lions swim, pelicans dive and sunsets without ever leaving. The house was impeccably clean and well-appointed. Every convenience imaginable was available. The location was very convenient as well – plenty of shopping nearby. We enjoyed the nearby farmer’s market and fresh fish markets – it was a pleasure to cook in the gourmet kitchen. The owner was great to work with – very responsive to my many questions. We would recommend this to house to anyone who enjoys the beach in luxurious, yet relaxing surroundings. We hope to return next summer -

The house was everything and more than we expected! Spotless with everything you need and more. How can you go out and eat when you have this gorgeous gourmet kitchen and views? Even though the weather was a bit chilly while we were here, the house location made up for it 100%. We have 2 teens and they were totally blown away. The beach was their backyard. Loved every moment and miss it so much! Will definitely return if opportunity arises. Thank you to the owner for easy and clear communication. Liz & Paul

I rent at this beach twice a year and I have never been so satisfied with any rental till now. This house is gorgeous! Everything is perfect. Classy interior and spacious all around. Linens are included (which never happens) and even those are top quality. The kitchen is a dream; we stayed in every night to cook. The views are breath taking. They have thought of everything in this house to make your stay a pleasant, restful, special experience. My family and I cannot wait to return there. We are spoiled now!

Fantastic! The house is beautiful, spacious, and very comfortable. It is beautifully appointed with everything we needed for our 2 week vacation which included the Thanksgiving holidays. The views and sunsets are spectacular from sunrise to sunset. We enjoyed being right on the beach and were entertained all day watching the surfers and boats go by. The location is only a few minutes to stores and restaurants. It was a perfect spot for our family vacation and we hope to be able to come back again.

We decided very last minute to vacation close to home. The owner was very easy to work with, and the home and its location are spectacular. Our kids loved the game room (huge tv, air hockey, foozball). The master bedroom and shower were awesome. We enjoyed smore's on the beach, watching surfers and sunsets, looking for shells, and playing on the beautiful beach. We will come back again for sure! A perfect place to relax with family.

Awesome is the best way to discribe this home. Our family is from Ohio and we traveled out to Oxnard to visit our son who is serving in the US Navy (Seabee) and our new grandson ! we were looking for a place that we could all be together and spend the week as a family. Everyone had a great time and the location was better than I had expected. Near the inlet to the harbor lots of sail boats in and out for day sails ..... On the beach, the kids all loved that feature. The kitchen was fantastic we were able to cook in every night with plenty of room. If your thinking of a place for your next family vacation you will enjoy this home !

My family and I had a fabulous time in this beautiful beach home. The sunsets were amazing, the sailboats, the dolphins, the walks on the beach - even football and volleyball right off the deck - these were all the best! The kitchen is a dream and the master suite is a room to fight over. We all want to come back!

What a fabulous vacation! Only an hour away but it felt like worlds away. The house is immaculate and stocked with supplies as though you were staying at a friend's house. Beach chairs, bikes, fire pit all provided. Loved waking up to the sounds of the waves crashing, and opening the remote control blinds for a 120 degree view of a quiet beach. Thanks!

Our 3rd Visit was just as great as the first. The pictures do not do this home justice and the owner is awesome to rent from! The views, furnishings, condition and upkeep are simply second to none. This is an absolutely beautiful home - perfect in every way. The home was immaculate, didn't have any problems to report. The pictures on this website don't do it justice! I would definitely stay here again.
