This rental exceeded our expectations in every way! I have always gone through a real estate agency prior to this rental (1-2 times a year for 10+ years). I was a little apprehensive renting direct from owner. This was by far the best experience to date! Sherri made the actual paperwork of the rental very easy. Henry greeted us and gave us the highlights of the condo. The condo itself couldn't have been better - pics don't do it justice - and the pics were oustanding! We picked Newport Beach because we needed a place that was convenient for our adult children to get to - we were coming from Arkansas, 1 son from Denver, daughter and granddaughter from Maui, and son and daughter-in-law from Aliso Viejo. 10 minutes from SNA for those of us arriving by air. Both of my sons are in the home improvement business and they were extremely impressed with the quality of everything that went into this condo - from appliances, to stone work, to the BBQ grill. I would and will very definitely recommend this location to anyone that inquires. Location is absolutely fantastic - right on the boardwalk. We spent a lot of time on the balcony just looking at the view.

Fabulous!!

Absolutely loved this place! It had everything we needed. All the amenities listed were spot on. They even have movies and books for your use. It was super clean and the owner "Henry" was there to welcome us on our arrival and gave us a walk through explaining everything. We totally felt at home for the week. The beds and pillows were really comfortable. We wouldn't have had to drive anywhere for the week if we didn't want to. We rode bikes to the grocery store (you could walk there it's about 1/2 mile) and there are many restaurants (Italian, Mexican, American)within walking distance. We would go back in a heart beat!!!

Great apartment; exactly as advertised

The apartment was exactly as advertised - steps from the beach, in the heart of Newport Beach, beautiful and well stocked. The views are quite remarkable, especially the sunsets. Henry was there when we arrived and very helpful. There is really nothing I can think of to say that is in any way negative. This part of Newport Beach is definitely busy, so this is not the place to rent if you want to "get away from it all," but you can sit for hours and watch the world go by.

Great Space for a Family of 4!

Nice sized unit for our family. We have two kids ages 5 and 7 and we were all comfortable. Amazing amount and variety of dishes, pots and pans and tupperware. Way more than your typical 4 person table setting. The close proximity to the beach was good for us. We actually didn't really use our rental car much on the days we stayed in Newport Beach. Grocery store, restaurants and coffee shops are all within walking distance.

Priceless!

If you are looking for the ULTIMATE beach house experience in Newport Beach then you will want to stay here. We have just returned home from our 7 day, 8 night vacation and have the highest praises to sing for this condo. The condo itself is located on the main strip next to the Newport Pier. There is a lot of action going on at all times. The oversized balcony offers premier views of the pier, ocean, beach and main strip just below. The beach in front of the condo is perfect for kids (small waves) or longboarding. It is located on a very busy strip so if you are looking for seclusion then look elsewhere. We were traveling with our daughter (12) and friend (13) who are easily bored. They spent 50% of their vacation leaning over the balcony wall and people watching. They loved it! We walked to Balboa Fun Zone on the first night, took about 30 minutes. Rode bikes the next night which only took about 10 minutes. The condo is immaculate and has clearly had a professional designer decorate the place. It is VERY upscale. The kitchen is enormous (for a condo) and comes completely stocked...literally, you do not need to bring a thing. Plenty of everything ie. Blender, Baking Dishes, Pots & Pans, Utensils, Serving Spoons...absolutely anything you might possibly need. There are games, DVD's, Books, Magazines, etc. (*tip: Bring an HDMi cable and view your photos as a slideshow on the TV on your last night...very fun!). Do bring a couple extra beach towels (there are 2 there) and maybe some extra paper towels and napkins. There are two bedrooms, the Master is huge and has a nice walk in closet and the most comfortable pillow top mattress that I have ever slept in. The bathroom has a stand up shower, no tub. The guest rooms is nice sized and comes with a Queen sized bed and another pillow top mattress. The guest bath has a bath tub and shower. Plenty of bath towels in each. The condo is on the boardwalk and comes with 2 bikes which work great. They are mountain bikes, if you are looking for a beach cruiser experience you can rent them for $5 per hour on the pier or go to Balboa Fun Zone and rent them for $10/day. There are several boogie boards, a ton of beach games ie. Paddle Ball, Sand Toys, etc., and a surf board. The garage held my Honda Pilot just fine, we did measure to see if my husband's Toyota Tundra would fit and it wouldn't. Plenty of parking all around though.. The property manager, Tanya, is fantastic. We loved her. Stay here! Thank you Sheri & Henry!

Owner response:We always like to hear about our guests experiences, good or bad. Summer months at the beach are very busy, particularly near McFadden Square where we are located, and especially on the 4th of July weekend, when this guest stayed at our home. The people watching on this holiday week is like no other. Over the top! You definitely need to like being around the action, like this guest! Sounds like we were missing a couple of beach towels, normally we have at least 4 available. We can't let that happen again! The next guest will find extra beach towels, and certainly an extra roll of paper towels! Thanks for the great feedback!!!!

What a beautiful place to stay. To wake each morning and see the dolfins and pelicans and long board surfers was a very special treat. We also appreciated all the beach toys. Even rode bikes along the path for four miles. Your condo is so perfect even down to the spices and dishes and kitchen utinsels. Could not have asked for a more perfect get away. We will see you again soon. Thanks so much, Henry and Sherifor sharing your great condo.

I have stayed in Shari and Henry's Condo for 3 years running. The experience is fantastic. We always arrive greeted with muffins and a fresh clean home. The location is fantastic and the Amenities such as the bikes and toys are plenty. The kitchen is well designed and stocked with flatware and utensils. The bedding is comfortable not to mention beautiful. Henry and Shari are great people that have worked hard to make this Condo a home away from home not just a "summer rental". I can not say enough of the time I have spent in this condo. Some might be dismayed by the parking lot view, but I have found it very entertaining to people watch and your view is still all beach and ocean.

Wow....what a great place you have in Newport Beach. We had such a great time this summer staying at your beautiful condo. Not only did you have everything necessary to make this such a nice time, but the location is unbelievable. We went days without getting in our car. There is so much in walking distance from restaurants to shopping to bike rentals....you have it all right there! Thank you for opening up your gorgeous home to us! We look forward to staying there again!

Thank you for an outstanding vacation condo. We wanted a homebase from which to take our three kids (8, 5, and 3) to visit Legoland, SeaWorld, and lastly Disneyland (which we didn't make because the kids chose to play at the beach instead!) We appreciated Henry (owner) welcoming us at our arrival to introduce us to the finer points of the condo and the Newport Beach area. Besides stocking the refrigerator (and the wine rack) with some essentials, he even helped carry our luggage up from the garage. The condo's location next to the Pier put us right in the middle of the action but being on the second floor gave us plenty of privacy. We enjoyed our morning walks to the donut shop (best pain-au-chocolates ever, including Paris) followed by a stroll on the pier to spot dolphins swim with the surfers or watch the locals fish for mackerel. And don't miss dinner at the Crab Cookery--truly a local gem complete with a 12- foot shark hanging from the ceiling.

"Our vacation spot in the past was always San Diego (until this year). . . This condo has by far been way above what we had anticipated. There was nothing that we would have wanted that wasn't at arms reach. . . .We have also named the outside entrance way " The Garden of Eden". We so hope to be back."

" Thanks for the use of your beautiful home! The first night we stayed on the balcony until it was late just enjoying the sound of the surf and the ocean breeze. We walked over to the Crab Cooker for dinner. Great place to take our 3 kids who like fish. Breakfast at Mutt's, just a minute's walk, was terrific. The food was good and the atmosphere says "beach". All in all, it was a fantastic time with both kid time AND adult time. Thanks for everything."

"First of all, thank you for providing so many of the items necessary for a week's vacation. From plastic bags to put our picnic sandwiches in, to an already stocked refrigerator; those are just a few of the little things that made staying in this gorgeous condo that much more relaxing and enjoyable. With that being said, we spent the majority of our time indoors, out on the balcony or on the beach. One night we had dinner at Chimayo's. It was a lot of fun to sit on the balcony and watch the sunset after a delicious but spicy dinner at a local restaurant. We spent a day in Huntington Beach and on the Balboa Peninsula. We always enjoy the shops and having lunch there. Overall however, we simply enjoyed the easy-going lifestyle of the beach; a contrast to "inland" living. Thank you again for designing such a wonderful place for your guests to get-away."

Thank you so much for allowing us to rent this beautiful house. We really appreciate your kindness and gracious hospitality. Upon arriving, the house was stocked with fresh flowers, wine and an assortment of goodies that made this feel like home. The next time we rent in Newport we will be back. Your house was perfect and the location unequaled. Thanks again for a wonderful week."

"You've done a really nice job decorating and remodeling this condo. Our family usually rents condos for vacations, and this is the nicest we've had. Thanks for the use of the boogie boards and bicycles. Most mornings the surfers put on a good show. The food in the neighborhood eateries satisfied all of our cravings. All in all, a happy week in a great place."

"Despite all of the rain in the beginning part of the week, we still had a great time! The Long Beach Aquarium is a great rainy day trip. The kids really enjoyed it. Much to my surprise, Disneyland was not as nice as DisneyWorld and Knotts Berry Farm was by far the best value ($80 for 4 of us vs $200 at Disneyland). The San Diego Zoo was fun (though we wished it would have stayed open until at least 6:00 pm) and dinner at Casa de Bandini in Old Town was authentic and delicious-the margaritas weren't bad either! We didn't wee much of the Hollywood/Beverly Hills area, although our daughter HAD to see Rodeo Drive. I was expecting it to be like 5th Ave in NYC with lots of people walking and shopping. It was pretty quite. Lastly, choosing Newport Beach as our "home base" was without a doubt a perfect choice. The close proximity of all the "touristy" things allowed you to return to the peacefulness of the ocean. It was a great way to end a busy day. We were all very pleased with not only the location but also this home. It has everything you need, it's absolutely beautiful and extremely comfortable. Being able to look out on the ocean and actually see dolphins jumping out of the water was something we will remember!"

"We had a great week with our two boys despite the weather. We couldn't have asked for a nicer place or nicer people to rent from. The boys had one day of surfing and were hoping for another but it wasn't meant to be. We did manage a trip to San Diego (lunch at the Hotel Del Coronado) and Hollywood. We were suprised to see how small John Wayne's feet were. Venice Beach was educational. I met my first snake charmer and felt like a real tourist. We're going out to Il Farro's (a 1 minute walk from the condo) for a four course New Year's Eve dinner and then back to a PA winter. Happy New Year!"
