Hale [ hah-lay] means house. Makai [mah-ka-ee] means toward the ocean. Hale Makai is a 3-bedroom, 2 bath oceanfront immaculate beach cottage. It is located in a tiny rural beach community in Anahola on Aliomanu Road.
The sounds of the surf can be heard from within the beach home. Over the sandy berm, beyond the foliage is a white, sandy beach with a barrier reef. You can swim or snorkel during favorable tide conditions. For the surfers, drive to the south end of Anahola Bay called 'unreals'. Always be akamai (smart; intelligent) and observe the ocean for changes in the swells.
How about taking your first cup of coffee and the beach chair to greet the morning sunrise? You may be lucky to catch passing whales during the migrating season. Kapa`a town, shopping, restaurants, pharmacies, groceries, health food stores, etc. are just 10-15 minutes away!
