We stayed at Dream Come True for three nights during my child's spring break, and had a wonderful time. With 4 adults and 3 teen-aged boys, there was more than enough room for everyone to spread out and enjoy themselves. As wonderful as the photos are, they really don't do this home justice. The owners have anticipated every need. We spoke with the owner, Judy, by phone several times prior to our vacation. She was so helpful, answering every question and providing additional local tips to make our stay more enjoyable. Even though the weather was a little chilly, the chairs on the party deck could be positioned to shield against the wind and provide a warm place to read, nap, or just soak up the sun. It was a very nice break and I hope to return to Dream Come True soon!

We go to our home every 2 weeks to make sure everything is organized and as we what it for our guest. Even in the summer when it is booked, we go in on the checkout days and check everything as the house is being cleaned! We also love being available for our guest before and during their stay! A wonderful Christmas

Thank you for a wonderful Christmas. Your house is beautiful and is in such a peaceful setting. The house was clean, had a stocked kitchen, comfortable sitting in all the rooms. The house was warm and welcoming.The hot tub has a gorgeous view of the lake and the surrounding homes .My niece and I enjoyed everyday!!! The house had all the modern amenities, including that great fenced in dog area. It wouldn't be a vacation without my dogs. Thank you for sharing your home and providing a perfect vacation. My wife and I just spent a wonderful winter weekend, where she was able to row and I was able to bike in the Smith Mountains. In my wife's words, the water was "the best she's ever rowed on." We also brought both our dogs, and with the fenced in yard (hard to find!), it was perfect for them. Beyond that, the owners make every effort to provide a special experience. There is absolutely nothing we needed for cooking, sleeping, or watching TV that wasn't already there. Detailed instructions on using the DVDs, TV, etc are all provided and make for a great "ease-of-use" experience. We could not have asked for anything more!

My husband and I stayed only a few days at this wonderful home. The owners provide absolutely everything you need to have a great relaxing time away. It felt as though we were coming home and we hated to leave! The views are as wonderful as the house and the owners! It's close enough to everything and yet far enough away to provide the peace and tranquility we aimed for. Thank you for sharing your "Dream Come True". We'll be back.

We made it home safely and had an absolutely wonderful time! You all have a gorgeous place with magnificent views. The house has lots of character & thank you for sharing your spices/condiments. We had one little mallard duck that came through every day. I named him Peking duck. lol All of the beds were very comfortable. The whole trip was fabulous even with the cooler dreary weather. Your house was like paradise both inside & out. We really appreciate you all sharing your home with us. The hot tub was so nice. Being right on and over the water was great. Two thumbs up! Thanks again!

Lavezzo Family Dream Come True

Finally after ten years I got my family together for a vacation. Normally we would choose the beach but this year we chose to check out Smith Mountain Lake...What a great decision! We had a fantastic time at "Dream Come True". The owners could not have been more accommodating (the only thing we had to bring were linens, which we rented from someone the owner recommended, and our personal stuff). The owners had a fully stocked kitchen (Judy even made sure there were giant marshmallows and chocolate bars and graham crackers to roast over the fire pit)!!! The house boasts three master bedrooms and private baths, which was so great especially after we were so exhausted after a fun filled day on the lake. We tubed and knee boarded from the back of our rented ski boat, swam in the nice cool lake, fished off the deck which is RIGHT there over the gorgeous deck, ate dinner on the deck in the evening, and took the boat to the many marinas for dinner and lunch, and golfing nearby. We were able to enjoy watching TV from the many locations and also caught up on movies we had not seen which we selected from the huge collection of DVD's they have (along with video games). We could not have asked for a more relaxing trip. We loved being together as a family and enjoyed our privacy when we wanted it. My entire family decided it was the best vacation ever!!! Go there...you'll love it!!!

Absolutely the best rental on SML

We have been coming to SML for years and we have stayed in at least a dozen different homes. This house takes first place. While it appears small from the outside, it is HUGE on the inside. We have stayed at some of the largest rentals on the lake (5000 sq feet and up), but this house is my absolute favorite. The house has a very unique layout and the Master is to die for!!! The layout of the home allows you the privacy that you want when having extended family stay with you while at the same time you aren't going up multiple levels of stairs to find someone. The TV's are fantastic and the outside separated fence area right off the den is perfect for dog owners. The kitchen is roomy and there is plenty of eating space. The downstairs bar is awesome for hanging out at night after the old folks go to bed. There is a fridge and sink along with bar area and plenty of games along with a huge TV and really comfy sofas. The pool table is great. The hot tub area is great and well situated for watching the water, while at the same time it is private. The floating boat dock is excellent. We have a 24' Seafox and it can be challenging to get in and out of for our older relatives. The floating boat dock is very secure and the water level is sufficient so that you can jump in and out of the boat very easily. The fire pit area is fantastic. There are plenty of chairs and the view of the lake is excellent. The owners are even kind enough to have wood and kindling all ready for you to use. This house will not feel like a rental to you. It is very well kept and has all the high end appliances, TV's, beds, sofas that you have at home. Judy and David clearly take pride in their home and it really shows.

Owner response:Thanks so much!! My husband and I work very hard to make our home be as comfortable for our guest as it is for us when we are there! We visit every 2 weeks to check on it and reorganize it so it will stay in top condition! When it is not rented we are there as much as possible to do improvements or just enjoy our beautiful home. We are always adding and updating things to make it even better (if that is really possible!). We are working on getting WiFi so everyone will be able to use their computers. We even have a gate on our dock area so your four legged family members can enjoy the lake with you and you do not have to worry about them running off! This place was exactly what we were looking for - and more. The pictures of the house are truly what you get. The outside deck was really large and it became a favorite spot for us to gather throughout the day and enjoy dinner after dark. We had six adults (3 in their 20's & 3 in their 50's), and my daughter's two dogs that loved swimming in the lake several times a day. We all enjoyed cruising the lake and visiting several restaurants on the pontoon that we rented. The layout of the house allowed everyone to have their own space, and at the same time enjoy some activities together...pool table, ping pong and playing cards. The large screen TV could be viewed while playing pool or cards. This rec area also had a bar and refrigerator so you didn't have to leave the room for snacks. By land or water the house is in a very convenient area. The owner's were extremely helpful and provided all kinds of information. They called the house to make sure that everything was fine and to see if we had any questions. We've been to Smith Mountain about 10 times and stayed at many different places. This is the first time that I didn't have to pack all the condiments to take, and then bring back home. The owner's provided those items just asking that we replace what we ran out of before we left. That really saved money and space in the car. I highly recommend "Dream Come True" as the place to bring your family, or a group of friends for a beautiful, relaxed lake front experience.

I can't imagine a more perfect property for a lake vacation. It is luxurious in a most comfortable way, and holds the 10-person capacity without ever feeling crowded. This area of the lake is beautiful and, while we were there, quiet -- but you can easily access the larger part of the lake and local marinas and restaurants. The owner could not have been more gracious before, during and after our rental. We will certainly hope to uses this property again - it provided the perfect family vacation spot.

There are so many extras that owners provide and share with you. This will definitely be a tradition in our family. The owners are very friendly and helpful which makes the vacation so much better.

Wonderful Spring Break 2011

Our family had a wonderful spring break at this awesome house. “Dream Come True” is very relaxing, inviting, well-stocked and very clean home. The spacious rooms have great views. We really enjoyed being right on the water. We had great weather, so we enjoyed the deck that sits right over the water. The dock immediately below was very convenient for docking the boat we rented. In the evenings, we enjoyed the game room, hot tub and fire-pit. Our vacation was so fantastic, we were sad to leave. Judy, the owner, was a delight. She sent us a large packet with a lot of information about SML. She also cheerfully took our calls during our stay when we needed boat rental and restaurant recommendations. We were so thankful that she sent us our daughter’s purse that was left behind! It was our pleasure to stay at “Dream Come True.”

Christmas Cheer

Our party of 4 spent Christmas week at Dream Come True. Everything was as promised. Very attractive, inside and out, with good construction and many highlights. Actually has 5 sleeping areas, 3 of which have king or queen beds. Our party used only 3, and of these 3, all are on different levels for maximum privacy. Beds and other furniture are comfortable and full house is very clean, including kitchen. The 3 flat panel TV's were in frequent use during the quiet holiday week, as was the kitchen. All lake views are exceptional. The house has a great supply of books for guest reading and DVDs as well. I recommend an instruction manual for the DVDs in the recreation room. Our party was without technical support Our travel and stay were slightly complicated by several snows and we very much appreciated the owner's aid, advice, and help during our departure.

We keep instructions to all the tvs and DVDs in a notebook kept on the livingroom table and posted on the fridge in the rec room. We also make ourselves easily available in case you do have a problem with anything in the house!

Thanksgiving Week 2010

"Dream Come True" is such a perfect name for this beautiful home!! We traveled from South Florida to spend Thanksgiving week with our beautiful daughter and her husband and family (5 grandchildren - ages 16, 14, 10 (twins) and 5) who live in Springfield, Virginia, along with other family members who visited (nieces and nephews who live in Rocky Mount). Everything about this beautiful home is PERFECT!! There is definitely something for everyone! Even our Champion Rottweiler, Luke, was in heaven with the beautiful, large, fenced in area that he enjoyed. The weather was gorgeous, the twins even braved the November lake temperatures for a swim followed by a welcome "dip" in the hot tub! Judy and David (the owners) have obviously spent considerable time making sure each of their guests (whatever age!) have absolutely everything they need. The home is well-equipped, well-stocked, extremely comfortable, and just bursting with opportunities for everyone to make beautiful memories just as we did!! The smores over the campfire, the wonderful meals we shared, the beautiful sounds of laughter inside and out, along with the family pictures taken on the back deck overlooking the water as well as on the flower laden, beautiful old wagon under the trees out front will remind us of our special time for years to come. We will definitely plan another vacation at Dream Come True!! Thank you Judy and David!!

For the past 5 years, my friends and I have been renting homes for our annual weekend getaway. This house is far and away the best. Judy, the owner, is wonderful! With the rental agreement, she provided information about local grocery stores, restaurants, & wineries. The house is gorgeous, and comfortably accomodated the 8 of us plus the dogs. The kitchen is well stocked with all items you could need. With the outside deck on the water, the hot tub, and the fire pit, we spent almost all of our time outdoors. However, with the pool table and roomy living spaces, we would have had just as good of a time if it rained the entire weekend. We are already planning our return trip to the Dream Come True. Thank you Judy!

I recently stayed at this home with my partner and six other friends. From the time the first four of us arrived, we were simply in awe of the home's beauty, cleanliness, and inviting comfort. As the rest of our group arrived, they were just as pleased. This home is truly one of a kind and a dream come true. Personally, I do not know how Judy does not live here full time. The home is extremely well equipped with everything that will make one's visit easy and enjoyable whether staying for a long weekend or a full week. Even during our early November stay, we were very pleased with the lake's natural beauty and the home's inviting charm accented by the numerous fireplaces. This place is simply wonderful, and that is certainly an understatement. This home has everything it claims and so much more. Our group is already making plans to return in the future. Judy is undoubtedly one of the most considerate persons with whom I have ever dealt. She made sure we had everything we needed, and certainly was just as interested in us having a great time as we were. Thank you, Judy, for everything.

Honeymoon Bliss

This house is awesome. It was our first trip to Smith Mountain Lake. For our honeymoon we wanted privacy and romance and this house was perfect. The huge master bedroom was gorgeous with a fireplace and Jacuzzi for two in the master bath. The fire pit outside offered a cozy spot to warm up and roast marshmallows under the stars. The lake was breathtaking. With a balcony off the master bedroom and a huge deck off the family room, you felt like you were totally surrounded by the lake. The owners were wonderful and made sure our honeymoon was special. We wlll always remember this "Dream Come True" house and will absolutely return.

Family Reunion 10/8/10 through 10/10/10

Our family of nine adults and two children(ages 11 months-81years) and one dog spent the weekend at "Dream Come True". It worked wonderfully for our group. Not having steps to the lake was great. Houses to accomodate this many are hard to find on SML. The house was spotlessly clean. The kitchen was well stocked and organized. The owner Judy even has spices and condiments to use. The beds were cofy. Two adults slept in the loft very comfortably. We used every bit of the house. There is a front porch not shown in the pictures that gets late afternoon shade. We had cocktails and appetizers there. We would move inside for dinner and finish with dessert overlooking the deck. Saw shooting stars from the deck after dark. The only problem was that we couldn't stay longer. The owner even left a bottle of local wine as a welcome gift.

A Little Slice of Heaven

We did not want to leave! Dream Come True was the perfect house for our long weekend get away. The house is amazing, especially the master bed room. The sun/party deck was great for catching some rays and having lunch in the sun. The hot tub and the fire pit kept us warm at night. Tyson, our 3 year old Akita, had the run of the yard and enjoyed swimming in the lake. The kitchen was very well stocked. There were plenty of books and games to keep us entertained. The house felt like a home and not a rental house, which made us even more comfortable there. All 8 of us adults had a wonderful time, not one complaint out of anyone and our pup enjoyed himself also. We are already starting to plan a trip back next summer but for a whole week this time!! Judy was a delight to work with and I can not wait to work with her in the future! Thank you Judy, for sharing your beautiful home with us!

This past week @ SML 08-01-10 thru 08-08-10 has been amazing. When asked how our vacation was, I answer. "I think I have been kissed by God" To be with my family in this beautifull setting will be unforgetable. Our temporary home fit right into our amazing week. It is all that it appears and more. On our last day we were fortunate enough to meet the owners in which we found to be very upbeat and pleasant.......much like their home. Overall, we were very satisfied and we are planning on renting here again in 2011.

one of the best vacations

I'm STILL thinking of our vacation at "Dream Come True" and it's been 6 months. We were there in June '10 with 7 adults (ages 66 - 27) 3 children (ages 3,2,1) and 1 yellow lab. I'm not sure who had the most fun. It was very hot, in the 90's all week so we spent a lot of time in the water. Our typical day was early breakfast on the top deck while it was still somewhat cooler. The lake was beautiful early in the AM-quiet, water like glass. As the temp increased we moved to the lower deck and stepped right into the water. We haven't spent that much time in the water since we were children. The cove we were in was wonderful for doing laps from one side to the other. And in the afternoon, when the children were napping, it was delightful to sit on the lower deck watching the boats, jet skis & tubes while enjoying some adult beverages. The house itself was made for vacations. The owner didn't miss a thing when preparing the house for guests-even making a call the 1st day to be sure there wasn't anything we needed. I can't say enough about how comfortable we were. In the evening we sat around a campfire and roasted marshmallows. Yes, they even had an area set up for campfires! I give "Dream Come True" 5 stars for having everything one big family would need for a terrific vacation. Oh, did I mention how immaculate everything was ?! Thanks Judy for sharing your vacation home !

We just returned yesterday from our first ever family vacation to Smith Mountain Lake, and we must say it was fabulous! We rented two homes on the same street in the same cove. The Dream Come True was magnificent! We had everything we needed and more to make our stay very convenient and easy. The master bedroom has the most comfortable mattress that we have ever slept on in a home that is not ours! The kitchen was well stocked and just when we started looking for something and thought that it might not be available. we would open another cabinet and...voila, there it would be! Storage space is phenomenal, the rooms are huge, the property is clean and well-maintained, and best of all...it is directly on the lake! No going up long, steep inclines to get from the dock area to the house...literally just a few steps up and there you are! Judy, the owner, went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed, and even called us to make sure we were alright when the entire lake lost power for a few hours due to a Spring storm. The home is close to the Smith Mountain Lake State Park and that is where we launched our boat. The cove where DCT is located is beautiful and quiet, and drinking our morning coffee on the top deck while looking at the mirror lake was the best therapy for all of us who were taking a much needed break from the day to day realities. The guest ages ranged from 6 months to 70 years! We spent an entire week there at Dream Come True and plan on making it an annual event! Thank you SO much!!

Mommies Fun Weekend

We just got back from our Mommies Fun Weekend at Dream Come True and we all had an awesome time - the mommies, the kids and the dog! The house was much larger than photographed and is right on the lake. We watched the ducks from the hot tub. Thoughtful touches were everywhere - from condiments to soap to wine to magazines. The enclosed side yard was perfect for the dog and the huge t.v., game system and pool/ping-pong table kept the kids busy. The owner is so nice and very conscientious about everybody enjoying the house (even the dog!) and even called on the day of our arrival to make sure we had arrived safely and everything was to our liking. We truly enjoyed our annual Mommies Fun Weekend at such a lovely lake house. Thanks Judy!

We stayed for a few days between Christmas and New Years. The house fit all eight of us comfortably. My favorite part was the master bedroom, which has a jacuzzi tub and is bigger than my current apartment! Great stay - very reliable owner. Perfect for the summer, since you are literally right on the water. We'd go again.

Great house!! We stayed for Thanksgiving 2009 and LOVED it. We had a total of 10 people and two dogs and we had more than enough room. It was very relaxing and peaceful. The dogs didn't want to leave!!! Great fenced in area. When you are downstairs in the game room playing pool or ping pong you feel like you are on a cruise because you look out the window and all you can see is water...awesome!!! And the master bedroom is wonderful. We will definitely try to go back ASAP!! Thank you so much for sharing your house with us.

I've rented many places at sml and this by far was the best place. Everything listed was accurate and to me better than expected. Judy was a charm to comm. with. What a suprise to get a bottle of wine as a welcome gift. Sercuity deposit not sent to the bank, but sent in a thank you note, these are people who care. If you don't consider this property for a vacation at sml, it will be your lost.

I had the privilage of staying at this home on SML this past summer of 09. I have been staying on lakes all my life and this home was truly perfect for my family and friends. Perfect place for family,friends,and pets to hang out. So warm and inviting with the amenities of a 5 star hotel. the house and the owner are great! we went on a family vacation (and it was so great we could take our dog ) we all had such a great time at the house.. the house has such a warm feeling to it the rooms are large , great views . deck that sits right over the water. everything is so convenient, dock, swimming, fenced in yard for the dog or small children.. beautiful front yard that we saw 2 deer in one morning., fireplaces, and so much more.. the whole experinece was so great and wonderful we were sad to leave ..this house is perfect in every way..if you are looking to rent a house at smith mountain lake this is the one .. you will have no regets..the name of the house says it all dream come true

One of our most pleasant renting experiences on the lake. My family has been coming tom SML over the past 10 years and Dream Come True was one of the most hassle free experiences we have had. The lake location speaks for itself but the house was in great condition and everthing worked as it should. Pleanty of room for 10 people and being right on the water is quite unique. Judy was a pleaseure to communicate with and we hope to rent Dream Come True again next year.

My wife and I recently celebrated our 25th anniversary at Dreams Come True. How appropriate as not only did my dream come true 25 years ago (I hope I get some wife points for that) but spending this special time at this home was beyond special. It is beautiful, comfortable and offers everything, I mean everything you could need. The owners were unbelievably wonderful to work with in getting everything set up. Dream Come True Reunion

We stayed at this Dream Come True lakefront home for a reunion with 6 college roommates (from 1977) who had not seen each other for more than 20 years so it was especially important for us to find the right setting and amenities! The property was beautiful, well-maintained and meticulously clean, yet comfortable enough to live in, with full kitchen and grilling facilities, with patio/lakefront dining right off the kitchen which overlooks the lake. We especially appreciated the close proximity and lakefront amenities....since the property is right on the lakefront, there were no long or steep climbs to and from the home, as is the case with some of the other homes at Smith Mountain Lake. The property owners were also very accommodating. Their friendliness and customer service approach was balanced with their expectations for those renting the property to keep it clean and in the best condition. As a frequent traveler, I have high expectations for extra clean accommodations and this propertly fulfilled my expectations. We are looking forward to returning for the same week next year!

I met up with 4 of my dearest friends at this Smith Mountain lake house for a weekend and it is a great place!! It has a very homey feel to it. We spent most of our time enjoying food and drinks out on the deck that reaches out over the water. You truly feel like you are removed from the world here. It is clean, beautifully decorated, and the property owners are nice down home people,who are very helpful and accommodating. The highlight of the weekend was getting out on the lake and doing some boating. It is truly a majestic lake, surrounded by gorgeous mountains and it is a boaters paradise. If you are considering renting a house here, you can't go wrong at "Dreams Come True!!"

I went to Dream Come True with some old college friends for a long weekend. It was more than we expected - right on the water with multiple decks and a jacuzzi, beautifully decorated and a fully stocked kitchen. The game room is fully equipped with whatever anyone would want. We all had our privacy but there was plenty of space to gather and have fun. Views and sun exposure were perfect. I am sure I will go back.

Fish right from the dock, bring the dogs, read books all over the house and let the real world slip away. This house was wonderful for our family weekend! It had lots of room for our large get-to-gether. The master bedroom was AMAZING. Great views and furniture with an exceptional bathroom. The kitchen was very well stocked and had everything we needed! The homeowners were extremely gracious to let us stay in their home, and went the extra mile to make sure our stay was perfect! Dream Come True 4/2010

April, 2010 -- Smith Mountain Lake beautiful and peaceful, tons of wildlife, good fishing. This home has magnificent master and queen bedrooms. The twin room and loft are very small, but fine for children. Kitchen has it ALL (great appliances, all condiments, all cookware and gadgets, plenty of dishes and drinkware), as does large gameroom (see their specs). Deck and hot tub are great, fenced yard perfect for a dog. Rent your linens through a service if you're flying in, very reasonable. Judy (owner) is VERY cooperative and will do all she can to answer your questions and make your stay a great memory, as it now is for my family: 7 adults, two grandchildren, one doggie.

We did add the twin bedroom for our own kids & their friends so it is smaller then the other bedrooms & the loft is just for an extra sleeping area (great for teen-agers).
