Thanks Jan! Paul, Allie, Luke and I had the most wonderful time in Amelia Island! It was the perfect spot for our young family. The beach was quiet and perfection at low tide:) The condo was immaculate and so nicely decorated. I felt at home as soon as I walked through the front door. The beds were nice and comfy and the ocean views/night sleeping was wonderful! I loved the location next to the Ritz. Perfect for poolside lunches and kid-friendly dinners, just minutes from our door step. I am working on planning the next weekend getaway. I will be in touch. Spectacular Spring Break Trip

Everything about our stay at this Ocean Place condo was wonderful, it felt like home away from home. From the furniture and appliances, to the amenities, cleanliness and special touches, this was one of the best vacation rental experiences we've ever had. The view from the large balcony is spectacular and we spent a lot of time out there enjoying the beach air and sound of the surf. Make sure to watch for the "wildlife" in the dunes between the condo and Ocean, we saw turtles and an Osprey most days, and dolphins off the shore. The beach is awesome, expansive and in our opinion, great for families of all ages. The Ocean Place complex appears to be one of the nicest on the island, and Amelia Island overall was a fantastic location for a family vacation. The owner went above and beyond to make sure our stay exceeded expectations. Communication was excellent, the information she provided about the island, activities and dining were very helpful in planning our stay. We wish we had more time to spend at Ocean Place and Amelia Island, and most certainly will be back again. You won't go wrong if you choose this condo for your vacation!

My family (me, wife and two teenage boys) had a terrific week at this property! The place was clean and exactly as advertised. Right on the beach and all of the comforts of home. The owner was very nice and welcomed us with a bottle of wine and some beach toys for my kids. We'll be back!

Cozy, Comfortable, and Charming

I have stayed elsewhere on Amelia Island, and this unit is by far the most desirable. It's located just steps from the Ritz Carlton and is equallty convenient to all points of interest. The reality of this comfortable apartment is actually better than the photos suggest. The view from the deck is among best is among the best I have ever found anywhere. Plus,it is exceptionally spacious and very well appointed with chaises and a table for dining. This is indicative of the care the owner has shown towards this property throughout. Inside and out it just feels like the perfect home-away-from-home. Dealing with owner Jan is almost as enjoyable as staying at her beautriful place. I felt more like a treasured relative who was visiting than a paying guest. I truly believe you can't do better on the island in terms of this size at this price.

A Very Nice Condo with Everything One Could Want

We spent two weeks at Amelia Island and the setting was ideal. Amelia Island is relaxed and laid back - it is not overly commercialized and that was to our liking. The condo has everything - all the info one could need to figure out what to do - many very good restaurants, grocery shopping very close by, a spacious beach. Jan is a very thoughtful person to deal with and there was not much to complain about. Unfortunately we did have to use the medical facilities and found them top rate. Baptist Medical Center Nassau is nearby, clean, and staffed with caring skilled personnel. As soon as we forget the medical problems that had nothing to do with Amelia Island, we will probably make plans to return.

Beautiful Condo

The minute I opened the front door, I knew that I was going to love my stay on Amelia Island. The condo was perfect – nicely decorated, clean and had a large private balcony with a table, chairs and lounge chairs. We stayed for a month and felt very comfortable at the condo. It is well stocked. This was our first visit to Amelia Island and we were busy every day. We ate at many of the restaurants, purchased fresh seafood at the downtown marina, went on a ghost tour, a trolley tour, went to Cumberland Island and took the Lands and Legacy tour, rode our bikes to Fort Clinch, downtown and to the south end of the island, played golf, toured the Amelia Island Museum of History, and had a rum punch at the Palace Saloon. We walked on the beach every day and found lots of shark teeth. The dolphins were plentiful. We will be making a return trip to the island in the near future and will stay at the Barry’s condo once again.

Been visiting Amelia for over 10 years, staying mostly on the planation. Decided to try something different, and what a great decision it was. This is a beautiful condo, great location, extremely comfortable, great balcony and furniture, with beautiful views. This is now our favorite place and we will be back. Owner great to work with, everything was easy and hassle free. Loved it, had a wonderful time!

We stayed for a wedding at the Ritz. The condo is beautifully appointed, Jan goes out of her way to make sure you are comfortable. The balcony is fantastic - sat out there in the mornings to just enjoy the sound of the waves and the sun on the water. So many shells, and good ones, on the beach! Went into the historic section of the island - cute shops, lots of people walking, very friendly. I would reccommend this home to anyone wanting a fun and/or relaxing beach vacation!

This is our fourth time vacationing on Amelia Island and this is BY FAR our favorite place we've stayed (and that includes The Ritz!)! It has all the comforts of home and truly the best stocked kitchen. The condo is beautifully decorated and maintained. Everything we needed and wanted was easily found and accessible, down to the smallest detail. It made the trip with a pre-schooler easy - which is a HUGE compliment! And the condo is just steps from the ocean with the most gorgeous view! We had dinner a couple of nights on the balcony because it was just so lovely. The owners are a dream - thoughtful, kind, organized! We can't wait to go back!

First time to Amelia Island!

My family and I had a wonderful stay on Amelia at this beautiful condo. The condo was so clean and fully stocked! The owner left maps and brochures as well as other "special" touches. My children lived looking at the turtles in the natural dunes on the property. The downtown area is very cute with antique shops and restaurants. The grocery is very nearby. We definitely recommend this property and would love to return in the future.

Beautiful, quiet condo

Possibly one of the most beautiful in decor with the best stocked kitchen we have ever stayed in. Attention to detail, like a personal note and a bottle wine from the owner, recent magazines in the basket made us feel very much at home. We enjoyed many dinners on the balcony with great views watching for dolphins and the surfers. Lovely walks on the beach (and a very clean beach!!) It was the perfect size for our family of four. Only two very minor negatives: we are Verizon customers and there was no coverage inside the condo, so we had to make any phone calls out on the balcony or outside the condo. The mattresses were very firm and the pillows were very soft, but next time we will bring our own pillows and that would help. We did enjoy excellent meals at Espana and Cafe Karibe in Fernandina Beach. Overall, we would highly recommend this condo as a wonderful place to stay!!

Renting through the owner was a positive experience for us and we've been vacationing on Amelia Island for the past 35 years in many various condos. The rental process through VRBO was much more personal. Ms. Jan has put so much of herself in the property making the condo "homey". We felt like she was very approachable and went beyond a rental company to make us welcome. Amelia holds a special place in our hearts. It's a part of our family history. This property at Ocean Place is super nice, the Barry Family are generous hosts and we would visit with them again.

Toes in the sand

Jan, your lovely rental was everything you said it would be. The balcony is huge and the outdoor furniture was so comfortable and clean. I start there because that is where we stayed the most. The master bedroom is so roomy, towels huge and fluffy, kitchen very well stocked and we loved the CD player. Didn't watch much TV but it was available with easy to understand instruction, not a box full of remotes. We enjoyed the quick trip to the beach by way of the pool. The huge elevators are enclosed, keeping the noise to a minimum. We did use a couple of your beach chairs, but the selection was endless. CAnt wait to go back. Just looking at the photos makes me lonesome. Thanks for the personal treats and how do we get more of Barry's Beach Boutique?

Relaxing 5 Days

My daughter and I needed a little getaway and this condo was the perfect choice. The location was perfect, the condo was well stocked, nicely furnished and most importantly "very clean". The view from the master bedroom and terrace was spectacular. The owner was very helpful with any questions and sent brochures ahead of time with activities and restaurants, this was very nice so we could plan ahead. I would highly recommend this property to friends and hopefully we can return within the year.

Amelia Island Vacation

My family visited this condo in April of 2011 and had a wonderful vacation. The condo is beautifully decorated (elegant and comfortable) and has a fantastic view of the ocean from the oversized balcony. The condo had everything we needed to enjoy our beach vacation. The owner provided beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, and beach toys that everyone in our family used. The condo was very clean and spacious enough for our family of 5. The owner is extremely thoughtful and easy to contact and work with. We could tell that a lot of care has been put into the unit so that other families can enjoy it. The unit is part of a very well maintained complex that is located in a beautiful section of Amelia Island with easy access to the restaurants and shops in Fernandina. We have also rented condos in Hilton Head and Isle of Palms, SC and are very picky about where we stay. This condo tops the list!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us! This condo is fabulous. The view outstanding. You couldn't get a better view than from this condo. The patio furniture was also very nice and comfortable. I had my morning coffee and my evening coctail out on the balcony. We stayed the week of Christmas and we couldn't have asked for a better trip. This has been one of our best VRBO experiences. The owners are wonderful to work with and made every effort to make our stay relaxing. They even let us check in early. The Ritz Carlton right next door was an added benefit. Jan, it was so hard to leave your gorgeous condo last Saturday. Thank you for allowing my daughter and me to enjoy such a wonderful week at the beach. Your home is beautiful, the location is perfect. The beach was so pleasant as was the pool. I enjoyed reading on the balcony while the baby napped; and we both enjoyed the sunsets in the evenings. A quick walk next door to the Ritz for lunch; easy access to walking trails, grocery store, etc. It was a wonderful week for me and a trip I will always remember. Thank you again for making Nora's first beach trip so much fun for both of us!

Jan, we have stayed in some comfortable condos, but yours was a real TREAT. Potential renters, be prepared to be spoiled by the beautifully decorated condo (classy comfortable and not over-done) and gracious owner. Didn't want to leave. Fantastic location close to elevator (air-conditioned elevator lobby!) and the beach. Beautiful beach view from deck with new, very comfortable deck furniture. I hope we can return again.

I would recommend this condo to anyone. My family has been vacationing at Amelia Island for 20 years, and this is by far the most beautifully decorated and well-equipped condo we have stayed in. This condo was clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. Everything in this condo is upgraded from the bedding and decorations to the appliances provided in the kitchen to make it feel like home. My husband who never comments on our accomodations was very impressed (especially withe the high definition flat screen TV). Mrs. Barry goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The view from the balcony was breathtaking and provided us the best seat in the house for the 4th of July fireworks. We will definitely be back.

This was the perfect beach getaway! The condo. was beautifully decorated, pristine, fully outfitted and had a large balcony gorgeous view of the beach:-) The first morning there we walked the beach and found sea turtle eggs and other amazing treasures of nature. It was a perfect trip from the thoughtful surprises the owner left to welcome our family to the memories we made surfing the waves and buidling sandcastles with our children! I can't wait to go back:-)

Amazing Beach Condo..........all the comforts of home and none of the cares!

We have rented beach condos in some of the nicest beach resorts on the Atlanta. This was, by far, the nicest condo we've ever stayed in at any price. The owner goes out of her way to think of everything your might need. She even has a gift waiting for you when you arrive. You will enjoy every moment of your time in this beautifully and comfortable decorated condo.

I will never stay in a hotel again! The Barry's condo was more than we expected for our 4 night 25th anniversary trip, as we were greeted with a bottle of wine and a gift from homeowners that don't know us personally. Everything we needed was there, including coffee, sugar, creamer, etc. As an Interior Designer, I was so impressed with the warmth and thought that went into making this condo a home for not only the Barry's, but their guests. We have recommended the condo to all of our friends as well as the restaurants (Sliders and The Surf). We will definately be back in the future.

January 1, 2010 We have just enjoyed the most pleasant three weeks ever in Amelia in your lovely beach home. For several years, we have spent December or January on the Island, but never in such wonderful accommodations. Jan, you didn't miss any detail in making our stay comfortable and feel like home. Our rental at the Barry's condo this past January, February and March has provided for one of our better rental experiences. From the time we walked through the front door we felt at home. That is, except for the truly unbelievable ocean view from both the living room area and the master bedroom. The furnishings are tastefully done, and well maintained...and the kitchen was the best equipped of any of our rentals that we have stayed in the past. Tere were just a few issues during our stay for which the owner was quick to respond. We plan to stay again in 2011. Jack and Barb.

To The Barrys, We have thoroughly enjoyed our three week stay in your beautiful beach home and feel so fortunate that we found your listing on VRBO and Homeaway.com. Everything has exceeded our already high expectations. Jan, you are a most gracious host and your personal touches and caring makes staying here feel like we are at home. We loved bringing seafood back to prepare in your luxurious and well-stocked kitchen. We loved the panoramic view of the ocean from the living room and bedroom. The deck provides an unparalleled view of the entire coastline. Spectacular! We have been coming to Amelia for many years and have always enjoyed it but this ranks up there as one of the best, thanks to your lovely house. My wife and I just completed a 2 week stay in unit #93, our second visit to the Barry condo. Jan is an expert at making you feel at home and at handling arrangements in a stress-free way. The condo is so comfortable, the view is perfect, the keyless entry is convenient, and Amelia Island is our favorite place to relax and refresh.

Jan,as you know, my daughter recently got married at the Golf Club of Amelia Island and we stayed in unit #93 for the weekend. It is a beautiful unit with an awesome view. You helped to make our weekend perfect. I love the keyless entry on the door and the fact that you sent us the packet of information and key to the unit w/o having to check in at the office. The location was very convenient since we were next door to the Golf Club and the Ritz Carlton. We really enjoyed the stay. The unit is beautifully decorated. The weather was beautiful and so was the wedding. Thank you for all that you did to help make this special occasion perfect. I'm sure we will return for another weekend soon.

We had a wonderful stay in #93. We were able to see turtles and dolphins. We found some shark teeth. The condo is great. It’s beautiful inside and it felt like being at home away from home. Thank you, Jan for allowing us the opportunity to stay at your beach house.

9/6/09-9/9/09. Visiting Amelia Island for the first time and #93 Ocean Place couldn't have been a better choice. The Barry's condo couldn't have been better equiped or more beautiful. Jan made sure our stay was confortable and special, with all the amendies from home. Such southern hospitality! We enjoyed the view(s), ocean breezes, beach and pool. Couldn't have asked for more. If you are looking for a place to stay on Amelia Island, look no further. This is definitely the place. The location is perfect, the condo is clean, cozy, inviting, and very well-equipped, and the owner is very attentive and sweet. You really could not find a better place to stay. My two teenage children and I just returned from a 5-day vacation and we all agreed it was one of our best. Thanks Jan for everything you did to make our vacation fun. You were a delight to work with and I hope to return to "share" your beach home again very soon.
