We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful spacious villa. The contact people and owners could not have been any nicer. We had a wonderful driver that picked us up at the airport who gave us lots of information about the island. My boys and I loved St. James Club for its amenities and water sports and activities. We loved playing tennis in the evenings and the walks to breakfast and dinner everyday. Their electronic devices only worked on wi-fi in the villa so I had their full attention. They tried everything there was to offer. I especially enjoyed the paddle boarding. My 10 year old was kayaking by himself without worry. Every day we all played volleyball with the other guests. My boys went reef fishing with Jourdain. He was also so nice. They caught red snapper and the girls at the beach club lunch stand cleaned and cooked their catch for an afternoon snack. We went with 2 other families who booked their stay at the hotel. Their places did not even compare to the Oddie's lovely villa. I would highly recommend staying here and this destination. Lots to do for very active kids. No need for a car. Ask for Shoy from Driftwood to drive you if you want to go wandering. I would not recommend the Barbuda Express tour from brokers. 3 of our kids and an adult got so seasick. Boat was dirty and way too crowded. Fly over if you feel the need to go there. But rent this villa and go!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Our family vacation was absolutely fabulous! Everything was how it was described and more. Antigua is beautiful as well is the Villa. Peter and Martine have the perfect place and thank you for our stay there. The Villa was very clean and in the perfect spot within St. James Club. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Shirley Heights on Sunday night was the best way to start our vacation. Shoy was great! He showed us around and was always there when we asked him. We went to English Harbour which was spectacular. The beaches and pools were not crowded and nice. It was the best vacation ever and spending it with our sons and their girlfriends made it very enjoyable and most memorable. We would all love to return there someday.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: We have great pleasure in knowing that you enjoyed our home as much as we do. I hope you managed to enjoy all the facilities available to anyone staying with us such as Tennis courts, Hobie Cats & windsurfs and the fitness center. Martine & I also take every opportunity to snorkle on the colorful St. James's Club reefs. Thank you for your comments and please do not hesitate to contact me for your next visit.

We were at the villa in February 2013 and just loved the villa and the St. James resort. Peter and Martine met us when we arrived despite the fact we came right from the airport and the grocery. There were 6 of us and we all decided this was one of the best islands and vacation homes that we ever have rented. The WiFi worked well and so did the TV. We watched the American Super Bowl and noticed that the New Orleans site had more electronic issues than we did on Antigua. All three bedrooms are equal. Washer and dryer are good. All the members of our group found activities that worked for them. My husband and I went Hobie sailing every day and soon learned how to get the boat for longer than the 30 minutes that we could reserve ahead each morning. On Thursdays there is even a Hobie Cat and Kayak race! We did a charter with the hotel boat and went snorkeling at the Pillars of Hercules as well as going on the short snorkel trip from the resort. The grocery store is fabulous, you need to stop on the way, as it is far from the resort but has everything. Some of our gorup went back once during a taxi tour. We only went out to eat once to Piccolo Mondo and cooked all other meals in the unit. The unit is well equiped. We went to Shirley Hieghts on the Sunday event which was fine (and memorable) and to English Harbor to tour the area. Everyone we met on the island was friendly. Can't wait to return.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We just returned from a week at St. James and had a great time. The villa was just as described and very well kept. It had everything we needed. We preferred to go to the beach on the ocean side of the resort and it was almost like having a private beach which was surprising since it was a holiday week! The bay side beach was also very nice but it was more crowded. It was very easy to rent paddleboards or kayaks, which were included in the price. We liked the option of doing all-inclusive or not and chose to split the week. Shoy, the driver that met us at the airport, was wonderful and available whenever we asked him to take us to dinner in English Harbor. The resort restaurants varied but most were pretty good. We would definitely recommend this villa.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

My wife, sons (5 and 7) and I had a great vacation in November. This private home is located within a very nice resort. We had full access to all of the resort facilities. Peter, the owner, was very helpful in providing information about the resort and island prior to our visit. He arranged for Shaul, a local driver, to pick us up at the airport. On the way to the home Shaul stopped at Epicurian grocery store so that we could stock up for the week. The drive to the resort was about 30 minutes. We liked Shaul so much that we hired him to take us on a tour of the island during the week. The home is very clean and spacious and nicely appointed. We enjoyed every meal on the upstairs patio overlooking the pool. The BBQ was a nice bonus. It is a five minute walk to the beach, restaurants, and facilities. The Atlantic side beach is wavy and windy. The bay side beach is very calm and hot. There were plenty of water sports. We all enjoyed the 20 minute boat trip to the snorkelling site. The water is very comfortable for swimming. We ate at all of the restaurants on site. We did not do the all inclusive meal plan since we prepared some meals on our own and ate in nearby English Harbour. The food at the resort was good. By far the best food is at Piccolo Mondo. Return taxi fare to English Harbour is 30$. We had two good meals at Trappas. This is run by a family from Europe. The kids also enjoyed many rounds of table tennis. They usually swam in the pool right in front of the villa. We could watch them from the patio. They also enjoyed the larger pool near the hotel. The location of the villa within the resort is ideal. It is away from the hotel and therefore it is very quiet. It is great for families or couples. We have recommended this property to many friends and would return.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you very much for your kind words. It was a pleasure having you and your family stay with us and we would love to have you visit with us again. The Spa has just completed an exceptionally nice upgrade and extension, which is another facility to enjoy.

We just returned from a wonderful vacation at this St. James Club villa. It is perfectly located within the St. James resort. Very close to both beaches and just across a small lane to the children's pool. The villa has everything you need. The kitchen and bathrooms are granite and the layout is great for families.Very clean. We loved the watersport area on Mamora Bay at the resort. My 10 year old daughter and husband got free catamaran lessons and we used the catamarans almost everyday. Also, we all used the standup paddle boards. It was our first time at standup paddling the bay is perfect for it. All this is included with the resort at no extra cost. If you are looking for kids for your kids to play with-go to the reef deck pool in the afternoon. My daughter made friends easily here and loved it. Also, the afternoon tea at 4:00 daily in the courtyard is a perfect way to end the day before getting ready for dinner. We were met at the airport with a wonderful driver and he took us straight to the resort. Also, Joanna (the owner' property manager) came by the next day to see if we needed anything. Claudia, the housekeeper came by a few times to clean while we were there for 9 days. We hired Shoy for a tour around the island and learned some history of Antigua and went to the Epicurean for grocery shopping (almost like Publix) and to the vegetable market in St. Johns. There are vendor tents on the beach at Mamora Bay at the resort. Sharon is the greatest and braided our daughter's hair beautifully. Also, Selma is a wonderful lady. We were not all inclusive and chose to eat out now and then at the resort and cook other meals at home. The only restaurant we would recommend was Picollo Mondo. All inclusives have to pay a $35. surcharge each to eat there. It's worth it if you are on either plan. Excellent food and atmosphere. The other restaurant's a la carte prices and quality of food were not worth it to us. They are almost the same price as Picollo Mondo so that was the best place to eat out for us. No children's menu-but there are pasta appetizer meals that work fine for a child. Service at Rainbow and Dockside werevery good. The owners, Peter and Martine were a joy to deal with. We had to reschedule at the last minute due to a flight problem and they were very helpful with letting us use the property on another date at the last minute!!!!! Overall, a great villa to have your Antiguan vacation in.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

We spent our Canadian March Break at this villa and had a great vacation. The villa exceeded our expectations - it was very large, immaculately maintained, and had 3 large bedrooms and 3 well appointed bathrooms. It was very comfortable for 3 adults and 2 young children travelling together. The resort was well kept and we made use of all the amenities, including great tennis courts, lots of water activities, nice pools, and the kids club, which both the children (and adults) loved! We did not buy the all inclusive package, and felt we got better value by having some meals at the resort, but also being open to try other nearby restaurants. We had some excellent meals in English Harbour, at Trappas and another restaurant in 'the Slipway' right on the water. We also all loved walking around Nelson's Dockyard and watching the mega yachts that were anchored and the huge sailboats. All in all, we had a great holiday, and I would highly recommend the villa. The owners were very easy to deal with and provided help with anything we needed. In addition, Joanne who helps manage the rentals was very helpful and only a phone call away for any questions etc.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children.
